We went on Friday June 8, 2012, for happy hour and to see the Paul McCarntey tribute band, Wings N Things. HH was pretty crowded and we had to wait for a table in the lounge side. The hostess was very helpful in combining our two parties that arrived separately. All the staff was helpful and very friendly. Food was pretty good. Several items are $3 less before 6pm. Good beer selection. $1 off the pints before 6pm. The music starts at 8:30pm. Earlier than most places. The earlier the better for me. Wings N Things were excellent and played until midnight before just a handful of people that stuck it out. Certainly an older crowd populated the place that evening. Our first visit. They turned off the HDTV by the stage when the band started, but glad they left the other excellent TVs on for the Mariner game, the six pitcher no-hitter. They have tables on the dance floor. We heard Emory's does not have a dancing permit. Hmm??? A few people did dance. I'd put the stage on the shorter south wall instead of the west wall. Emory's has been in this location for many years because food and service is fabulous. It's a very busy place in the evening, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening. Sometimes parking can be a challenge but is well worth it. We have been numerous times and have NEVER been disappointed. I highly recommend Emory's for date night or any special occasion. Super casual and fancy restaurant. I love coming here during the summer, you get to choose where to sit outside with the lake view. The environment itself is welcoming an warm. Great service an well organized. On top of that the food is amazing. They serve generous amounts for the price given. My favorite appetizer is the calamari and tuna poke!! Fav. I REALLY wanted to give this place 5 stars but they definitely fell short. I made reservations online which was pretty simple. Went to the restaurant and was greeted by the young lady up front. It took a couple of minutes to get seated. Our waitress took about ten minutes to come by which was fine. She took our drink orders and I asked if she'd like us to order our entrees as there was an hour before closing - she quickly said oh no no let me get this in first. Okay that's fine. We ordered a ceasar salad split in 2. The drinks came which were fine. The salads came out - this is where it went downhill QUICK. My friend noticed a HAIR on their lemon in the salad! We quickly called over another server and he rushed the plate away. Our server came our apologized and JOKED about oh it must have JUST been an eyelash! Are you KIDDING ME. They brought a new salad which was whatever. For main course we had steak and also the halibut. I asked for only mash potatoes as a side - pretty dang simple. First the wrong dish was brought out, they brought me salmon with the correct sides, they took it back. Then brought out the halibut which had the wrong sides! The location is good .Was quite busy for a weekday. The food was quite ok. Ordered a couple of things. The house bread with olive oil was very good. Bruschetta - not a fan .. the portion size was way too big like a pizza. Garden green salad was good. The side order of spinach tasted weird. Emory's has delicious food, great customer service, beautiful scenery and they often have live events. They host comedy shows a couple times a year. Emory's is a little on the pricier side but the food is delicious. Don't let the fancy interior fool you, casual clothes are welcome! read more

Never had a bad experience here! Great outdoor covered seating area overlooking Silver Lake that is well constructed (not the temporary tent kind) with a fireplace. The oil for the bread is amazing- so much garlicy goodness. Seafood is fresh and flavorful. Sides are quite bland (long grain rice etc) or just steamed vegetables so nothing above and beyond or fancy but decent and prices are reasonable. read more

Nothing special here, and not the best salmon I've had thus far in Seattle (Five Restaurant and Bistro). While I appreciate the ambiance of the location, Emory's is way over priced for just mediocre food. I wanted to fall in love with it because of the location. Unfortunately the food is just nowhere near the price tag. They really need to revamp their menu - hire a real good chef and do a complete overhaul. Where do I start? My husband and I were celebrating a very important wedding anniversary and Emory's knew that. Half of the items were not available and the special meal the chef made me was just awful!! The seating was unsatisfactory and it was so hot in that place you could have baked bread at our table, which reminds me; the free roles were as hard as stones. This was my first and only time I have dined at Emory's. One more thing. There should be a sign somewhere that states people of color may dine at this restaurant. Excellent experience at Emory's on Saturday for dinner. We had a reservation for four at 6:15pm and my husband and I arrived at 6pm. To my pleasant surprise we were seated right away at a window table on the lake like I had requested. Even our friends didn't arrive until 6:15, the server got us water and bar drinks while we waited for them. The food was amazing as always. The service was top notch. No long waits for anything. Our server visited our table frequently to see if we needed anything. Empty glasses and plates were bussed quickly. Emory's has always been a favorite but we were concerned that it might not be our usual experience given the staffing shortage in town. The happy hour here is bomb! You would think that it's bougie but the folks are pretty mellow. There is live music on some nights, but that's not really my thing. The food is great and the drinks are stiff. The fried green beans are something to write about. Crispy and tender, mmm-mmm. They have chicken lettuce wraps that will fill you up without feeling heavy. The pizzas are crisp and savory, and the calamari hits the spot. My two daughters and I had dinner there last night. We sat out on the deck and even though the little hydros were making a lot of noise as they went by the restaurant, it was still nice to sit and watch them. Our waitstaff person was very attentive and knowledgeable and very engaging to talk to. What we didn't like to watch and over hear were what appeared to be the "managers" and the way they addressed their staff in front of all of us. To call them out on something in front of us was totally uncalled for. Both were older people who apparently didn't mind calling attention to themselves as they berated the staff in front of the patrons. Food was great as always even though the menu has changed a little under new ownership. Ordered a bottle of wine and when we wanted another one, they were out of it. Talk about stepping up takeout!!! These guys make the dine-in experience at home as good as if you were there. Yes, they're open, but we oldsters still have to be super careful, but can still enjoy our favorite Steak & Scampi with perfect smashed potatoes. Such a treat. Just another Anthony's... My partner and I eat here on special occasions. We visited right before the change of ownership and again the other night for our anniversary. The food was expensive and just "okay". When you think of Emory's you think of a fine dining establishment. It is no longer that. We're in our very early forties so not oldies by any means but the loud thumping music of today's hip hop 100 (rather than soft rock or instrumental), the much smaller menu, the brutally slow service, the subpar drinks, the clam shell and balls of flour in what used to be award winning clam chowder (guessing Emory's took their recipe as this is not the same chowder from the past), my partner's overcooked steak, and my very obviously pre-frozen fish and chips (the breading was chewy and the fish itself was gummy instead of flaky) showed us that unfortunately Emory's is now just another Anthony's... We will not be going back for our special occasions anymore - which is a bummer as the restaurant is within walking distance of our home. I will say our server was a champ and did her best but she just could not get anything from the kitchen or bar in a timely manner. Time to find another establishment to make memories. read more

Terrible. Except holly or server. Clams had so much sand in them we couldn't finish the clams. I ordered a French dip that tasted so salty and the meat was grissly and full of fat. We've gone 3-4 times and ordered different dishes each time to see if we can find something good, but it's just been awful. The fish is consistently overcooked; the last time we got their special brussel sprouts, which were black and burned to an inch of its life (we had to send it back); and the linguine had most of the pasta water in the bowl that didn't drain. Great food, amazing view and stellar service! Grab a balcony seat and indulge in the amazing food. Loved this gem! We came to the area to check out silver lake to paddle board and decided to have happy hour here. The patio was so comfortable with a huge fireplace in the covered section. The prices were very reasonable at happy hour and the servings were large. We tried the buffalo cauliflower, garlic cheese bread, and clams. All were great. The service was fabulous and the place was cozy and clean. We plan to come back many times! read more
