Emiliano's is a simple yet tasty spot of pizza and quick bites. We have both eaten at the restaurant and have ordered from them and the food is delicious, but for some reason, my orders often comes with one or more additional ingredients. The penultimate time we ordered, I got a salad pizza; nothing in the menu said it contained cheese, but it came filled with cheese. The last time we ordered, my Margherita pizza didn't even have mozzarella on it, but (I am guessing) cheddar and topped with Parmesan (which I never asked for and don't eat). In the past we never had this issue but now, I am becoming hesitant about ordering from them. But in the end, the food hits the spot when I can eat it. Its worth checking out. read more

I only order a large plain cheese pizza and the scent and flavor of the pizza truly reminds me of all the great slices I've had in the city. It's not at all greasy and gooey in all the ways it needs to be. I usually walk up and order and it's ready in about 15-20 minutes. I first heard about Emiliano's in Hudson Valley magazine, where it was highlighted as one of the best pizzerias in the Hudson Valley not once, but a few times. After seeing its location when coming out of a disappointing meal at Milanese a few storefronts down, I was further intrigued. Poughkeepsie had a big Italian population at one time, and there are quite a few holdovers like this from the old days. Thus, I came up here to try a few places including Emiliano's. Inside, it looked like a typical pizzeria with city workers eating their lunch. Contrary to popular belief they do have napkins, but they are located at the back side of the shop away from the counter, which is strange and unconvenient. The slice was reasonably priced, and I was looking forward to it. It was just alright. The endcrust had little rise to it, but what was weird was that it had very significant tip sag yet had a crispness when bit into. The effect of it was like a Staten Island, cracker thin slice that was limp. Despite this, the cheese was high quality and the somewhat-muted sauce worked well off of it. For the Hudson Valley, this is definitely good pizza. Compared to the greater NY metro area, it doesn't stand out. However after tasting, I don't think the goal here was to be world beating to begin with. Hudson Valley magazine is to blame here for creating hype that they aren't even seeking to live up to. I have my own favorite pizzeria in this area, but I wouldn't mind visiting Emiliano's again at all. read more

We found this place randomly since we live pretty close by. We have been going back every since. Their pizza is really good and cheese. The sauce and toppings are top notch as well. The only down fall is they don't have garlic knots, they have garlic bread but other than that everything you do buy from here is so tasty! I've getting fries to sandwiches to pizza and wings. We lived in Poughkeepsie for many years and were regular customers at Emiliano's so when we visited the city week to attend our son's wedding I told my husband that I wanted to get their lasagna our first night in. They have kept the prices low and the portions huge. My husband got a chicken parmesan sub and our daughter got pizza. The slice was huge and with a very thin crust just the way we like it. We live in Florida now and would never get anything comparable there. We had a very nice chat with one of the owners. We interacted with many of the family members over the years and they are all wonderful. We will definitely visit again anytime we are back in the area. Highly recommend. read more

This pizza place is my go-to pizza place in the area. At least once a week, I order a cheese pie from there. They staff is friendly and laid-back. The pizza is good and always fresh. So I called to Order a white pizza the lady on the phone ask me about cheese,ricotta I never had it or knew what it was so i asked her what is it.She Said it was cheese,I have autism so when i think of cheese with a pizza mozzarella comes to mind. So it was my understanding it was close to the same thing. Flash forward one hour later. I get my food i gave the driver a tip like i always do when i order delivery. After a long day and a lot of driving we were all ready for a great meal. The first restaurant had high cuisine with exorbitant prices. The next smelled like something (or someone) had died inside the restaurant. The like a light house thru the fog we saw Emiliano's Pizza. We walked in and were created by the smell of pizza fresh bread and all kinds of Italian delights. The 3 of us shared a veggi slice, eggplant parmesan with spagetti marinara, a Greek salad and a cheese and pineapple calzone. We were stunned when HUGE dish after dish came out. I have been a loyal customer for many years. However, tonight I had a negative experience at Emiliano's. The front door was propped open and it was cold inside the restaurant. I asked that it be closed and the counter person (female, wrapped in her sweater) said to me "I'm glad you said something" and she closed it promptly. A delivery guy walked in a few short moments later and one of the owners shouted to him to "keep the door open". The outside temperature is currently 54 degrees. Hardly comfortable eating weather. I glanced over at another female patron with a sweatshirt and down vest on and she had the same look of being cold and glanced at the open door. We decided that it would be too cold to eat inside the pizzeria, so we took it to go and I didn't want to ruffle the owners feathers. I felt as though the owner was taking his customers for granted. Very happy to hear they deliver to Lagrange ( about as far as the Fire station ). I used to go only when I was in the city but now that I know they deliver I'm switching over from Tina's/Fat Franco's to Emiliano. I rate pizza by the following: Can I pick it up without it quitting on me? You know, when the front half of the pizza is just like "forget it, I'm too sad to stay in the shape of a triangle". The cheese then slides off and it's a sad affair for everyone. If I pick it up does it crack in half like a cracker? If so, it's not as bad as above but you know your jaw will be tired by the time you get to the crust. Never mind the little mouth cuts. Ok, it folds just right. Next up. Is it raining hot oil on my hand from the back of the pizza and hot oil on the trip from the plate to my mouth? If so, cheap cheese, fail. If I need to take a napkin and blot my pizza, fail. Yeah, that's right we haven't even tasted the damn thing yet. We don't really need to. Unless the sauce is horrible we already know the dough and cheese were good quality and prepared well. So there you have it. Pizza is serious business. I don't understand places that can't consistently get it right. Emilliano's is one of the places in Poughkeepsie that does. read more
