I really wanted to like emil kohan's practice. i really wanted to have a good experience with them. However i did not. Unfortunately my expereince first off was so uncomfortable that i could not even follow through with scheduling a surgery. So at first it was through all text, sent photos and request for a quote via text and the price was crazy high, even for a beverly hills doc. Then i get a call from their staff saying they can lower the price if i do it tomorrow like the next day - umm im not prepared at all, i dont have pre ops, i dont have bloodwork, i dont have supplies, none of it. but out of greed im over here trying to see if i can make it work cuz its a couple thousand off and i get to get it done right away. BAD IDEA. i was immediately overwhelemed and stressed so i decided i could not do it next day, like duh right?. Then the rep from the office tells me well then when can i do it? like how about this wed or thur or fri ? so throughout this WHOLE process i felt not only rushed, but scammed cuz they took my deposit on my CC without telling me its non refundable. I had to dispute my CC company to get it back. When i told the rep i wanted to do it like september, and this was june or july so a couple months out i wanted to schedule it she said she cannot honor the quote she gave me for september its only for that month. im like wtf thats not how this works-- anyway, i dont have anything against this office rep or this doctor even, i just did not feel comfortable being rushed and not getting the proper process to set up a huge surgery (BBL&LIPO) on a last minute notice. I am writing this today as I am about 5 weeks post op. I can honestly say that I am incredibly happy with my results so far and I know they will only get better! When I first heard about Dr Emil Kohan it was from a viral video circulating from someone named Yvette and she was vlogging her BBL experience with Dr Kohan. Her results looked amazing and I kept him in mind. I am solely writing this review based on the interactions & Customer service I was provided by Dr. Kohan's team, and I have never directly spoken/worked with the Dr. himself. I submitted the form on the website to request additional details on June 9, and received a fast response back on June 10 with the questionnaire that I needed to fill out and send back for review along with body photos. I sent the form back on June 16, then received a response back on June 17 to let me know my info has been received and to allow the consultant a few days to follow-up with me. At this point, I felt great about the service that was so far being provided, as I was getting very fast and timely responses. Come July 9, I still had not heard from the consultant, and although I know they are extremely booked & busy, I just wanted to ensure that I had not been forgotten and was still in line to be called/texted with a quote. I reached out to the Dr. via email, and was told I would hear from the consultant "tonight," and I assumed that meant by EOB. Come July 21, I still have not heard from anyone and again just ensuring that I was still going to receive a call/text from the consultant. Therefore, I email the Dr., and again on 7/21, I was told that I would receive a call from the consultant "today." Later that day, I receive a call from a woman with Dr. Kohan's staff, letting me know someone will reach out to me "today" with a quote, and let me know that they are extremely busy and have limited spots left for the year. This made me instantly concerned, as I did not want to wait until next year for my surgery, and the longer they took to reach out, the more spots were filling up for this year. Come July 23, still no call or text. Therefore, I emailed and they responded back again, stating that I would receive a call from the consultant "today." Surprisingly I actually did receive a call from the consultant around 8/9 pm that night, even with a quote around $20K, I was ready to proceed, and we discussed booking me for August 14 (3 weeks away). I did have some questions for the consultant and it took days to get responses. Here I am a nervous wreck because my surgery date is supposed to be in 3 weeks and I can barely get a response/answer from her. In the meantime I am getting everything set up on my end; with work, booking accommodations (since I would be an out of town patient), and getting my blood work done with my primary care Dr. (My Dr. called his office to ask what blood work was needed). I went to see my Dr. on July 27, got my results back on July 28 and I was informed that I had some abnormal blood work and that I was not going to be able to have surgery for at least another 4 months. I was extremely sad about this, however even more sad that I was literally just diagnosed with Diabetes and possible liver issues at the age of 28. I never reached back out to the consultant again, only to see how long it would actually take her to respond to my question: when can I pay my deposit? She responded back 2 days later and said great lets book you. I then responded back immediately to let her know unfortunately I had some abnormal blood work and I would not be able to get surgery for about 4 months. That is where all communication completely ended. She literally could not take the time to respond back and say geez, I hope everything is/turns out okay for you and let us know when you are ready to book. Now I literally feel like I was just another dollar sign and they could care less about my health and well-being, because they will just move on to the next patient. In the future, I would still love Dr. Kohan to perform his work on me, so I can re-do this review. First and foremost, I've always wanted a nice curvy body/butt but never thought I could get it. Doctor took his time to sculpt my body best possible way, I am amazed by how he paid attention on my wishes (7 hour surgery ), incisions are precise/clean and perfect, I had minimal pain to lipo sites compared to other patients I've cared for which is usually the most painful sites after lipo! As I was taken to a hotel by EMTs where I was to Recover, I was able to get up from gurney, walked to bed where I was properly positioned to protect my new gorgeous body by beautiful nurses. Going forward my incisions are healing very well considering i'm only a week after surgery, my tummy look AMAZING, my incision are so narrow and so low I will be able to wear any bikini I want with minimal scarring, my waist is hourglass, my hips are gorgeous and my butt is amazing and i'm not even 100% healed! I stayed on Tylenol on day 3 because my pain was so tolerable ! I'm so ecstatic about the whole experience and I have to say and insist on these vital things: don't save $ on you recovery and take it serious, because that's where great results occur, be patient and follow instructions, please spend extra $ and get Lymphatic massages, it is very important to get rid of the extra fluid retained after surgery, it will give you more energy and just make you feel fabulous, Carol massage therapist is marvelous, very spiritual and extremely carrying beautiful person inside n out! Hyperbaric will speed up your healing incredibly! As a nurse I knew what to expect and recommend to program yourself that first 3 days will be tough, I strongly advise to go to aftercare so you don't pull any muscle or stitch while getting up and positioning yourself, proper aftercare is vital ... although I walked 2 hours after major surgery in the hotel room and was able to ambulate next day with very mild assistance, after 3rd day I already walked 2 blocks to Dr Kohens office. Positive attitude with great relationship and trust between patient and doctor is a must ! Never think negative and take it as a beautiful experience, some amazing magical investment in yourself and I guarantee you that your recovery will be a breeze ! So fortunate to have found Dr. Kohan. I had been searching for 6 months for a lipo/bbl plastic surgeon. I am not from the Los Angeles area. I had met with doctors in NYC, Florida, and L.A. ... and it wasn't till a dermatologist recommended me to Dr. Kohan. I was a little nervous choosing Kohan because at the time he did not have a Yelp yet or any reviews!! But upon meeting him, and talking with him, I just knew he was the best doctor and I really liked his eye. The guy's an artist. He does NOT give you a "signature" butt that he gives all his clients. Dr. Kohan is a perfectionist!!!! I've had three c-sections under five years and my stomach wasn't the same as much as I tried. I researched surgeons in Newport Beach and Beverly Hills and had four virtual consultations. I was looking into getting a tummy tuck and abdominal plasty. if youre looking for a sign to get your BBL this is it! I was doing extensive research on what dr to go with for the past three years. When I saw Dr. Kohan I knew that he was going to be the best. His patients look very natural but have beautiful bodies and he knows how to take a "skinny fat" body and make it slim thick. Basically he's the best for skinny BBLS. I was 5'3 109 before surgery and gained weight to be 117 for the surgery. Your body will change a lot! Going into surgery I was a size small, then when I got out the faja they had me in was a large and now two months post op i'm back to a small! Swelling is crazy so for my dysmorphic girlies this is going to be a little hard. there were times when I felt like my body looked the same but you have to power through that and see the reality. I went in with my waist being 27 inches and my hips were 34. now my waist is 24 inches and my hips are 39. I was so scared of something happening during my surgery because of all the horror stories from Miami and out of the country. I was so scared and having a lot of anxiety before my procedure. Dr Kohan was so kind and patient he calmed me down and I'm so glad I listened to him and went through with the surgery. I had always heard BBL recovery is hell... for me it was so incredibly easy!! I was swollen.. I was bloody and a little bruised.. but i healed super fast and It was not bad at all. The worst parts are you will waddle when you walk for the first two weeks and your neck will hurt from sleeping on ur stomach a lot. Go to someone who is extremely skilled like Dr. Kohan. I'm so convinced that his expertise made my surgery much easier than it could have been. I was only on pain medication for the first week and mainly used it to sleep through the night. Listen to his instructions if you want good results. I did my massage with Carol who has an office in the back she is so sweet she's an angel. She made me feel super comfortable and relaxed and the massages help your body with swelling and soreness. This surgery changed my life. It was expensive, but you can't put a price on confidence and happiness.
