A quick stop to take photos of the skyline from the overlook.

It sounds so... touristy of me, but I've found that hop-on hop-off tours are a pretty great way to get an overall sense of a city if you are visiting for the first time. Emerald City Trolley was the perfect way to see some of Seattle's best parts in just one day. We hopped on in downtown near Pike Place market and enjoyed seeing everything from Pioneer Square to the Space Needle. It's great that a trolley comes to each stop every 30 minutes, which was just enough time to explore. The trolley stops at the EMP/Seattle center, where you can connect to two alternative route tours. We took the blue line (Overlook and Locks route) which was really fun. Spencer, our guide, was great and shared really interesting history of Fremont, Ballard, and Queen Anne. There were so many great photo ops along the tour, and we saw everything we wanted well before dinner time. If we had more time in Seattle, we would have purchased the two-day ticket. Great customer service and very pleased with our tour of the beautiful city. Highly recommended!

Our trolley stopped at the EMP museum while the driver used the restroom

Great tour, our guide was Spencer and he was friendly, funny and super informative. The driver Charlotte was lots of fun as well. Tour was reasonably priced but the biggest negative for us was that if you're waiting at a stop, it says on the sign that the wait time is approx 40 min but you have no idea when the last trolley got there. We just must have just missed one and ended up waiting 35 min. You could solve this problem and call there customer service number but we didn't have USA SIM cards so we couldn't use our phones without it being expensive. Overall I would recommend this tour.

We did a two day pass. Worked out well for us. Trolley was running a bit behind schedule on the second day, but it wasn't too bad. Great way to see a lot of Seattle.

The concept is excellent, the route covers many of the city's major attractions, and the drivers we encountered were friendly. This service has tremendous potential and could easily be a five-star experience with a few important improvements. The biggest disappointment was the condition of several of the open-top bus seats. Many were worn out, and some had broken cushions that allowed the metal seat frame to press into the backs of our legs, thighs, and buttocks. After spending time riding the routes, we were both sore. In fact, my wife was so uncomfortable after the first day that she refused to ride the buses on the second day, even though we had already paid for a two-day pass. That was disappointing because we had planned to continue exploring the city together. The other issue was reliability. The advertised pickup interval of approximately every 30 minutes was often not met due to traffic. I understand that traffic in a major city is unpredictable, but what made the experience more frustrating was learning that at least two buses apparently were not transmitting their GPS location. That largely defeats the purpose of having a real-time bus tracker. When riders can't trust the app or the published schedule, they're left wondering whether to continue waiting or find another way to their destination. My biggest takeaway is this: don't over-promise and under-deliver. If buses are delayed because of traffic or GPS tracking isn't available, simply communicate that honestly. Most customers are understanding when expectations are set realistically. Accurate information builds trust far more effectively than optimistic estimates that aren't being met. I genuinely want this company to succeed because the service fills an important need for visitors. With comfortable seating, dependable GPS tracking, and more realistic communication about pickup times, this could easily become a five-star experience. I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended.

Great option from Seattle to Crystal…read more Two recommendations: 1. Clarify pick up location in e-mail. There were two addresses for the Downtown Seattle pickup. I was lucky to be at the right one, but I was 2 minutes from walking to the next address when I did not see the bus. 2. We left at 415pm from Crystal. We waited for other passengers. I don't mind waiting, but I thought it was unfair for those who returned to the bus on time. I recommend just changing the departure time to 430pm. Crystal closes at 415pm. Not to mention that we had to sit in traffic for an additional hour in the morning, so that was a total of 75 minutes that I missed on the snow. The bus is still very convenient if you don't have a car and it is only you for the day.

None of the outlets nor USB ports worked, nor did the fan controls overhead. The slight draft through the vent and the broken seal around the windows sufficed. Our bus carried only five passengers, we spaced ourselves apart, and fortunately nobody nuked a big one. Most of the window gaskets squeaked, annoyingly, and one showed a visible gap. I did think, a window could fall out, and thus would not reach Vancouver on schedule. They couldn't even properly adjust the large LED clock, still set on Standard Time and a few minutes late. Litter left and scattered from the previous trip tells me either nobody cleaned the bus in Seattle, where we originated, or they were given so little time or otherwise cleaned it poorly. I wouldn't have known about MTRWestern had Flixbus not contracted them for the codeshare to Vancouver. Nor would i have otherwise chosen them. They ran the worst, dirtiest, and least maintained bus i've ever ridden.

I'd heard about the city's underground passageways before visiting, but seeing them in person gave me a much better appreciation for Seattle's history and how the city was rebuilt after the Great Fire. The tour struck a nice balance between history and storytelling. Our guide kept things engaging, and there were plenty of opportunities to stop, look around, and imagine what the original streets would have looked like more than a century ago. The pace of the tour was comfortable, and by the end I felt like I had learned so many interesting facts about Seattle's early history while also getting to explore a part of the city that most people never see. If you're visiting Seattle for the first time, I'd definitely recommend adding an underground tour to your itinerary. It's a fun way to learn about the city's past and offers a completely different perspective on Seattle!

I learned a lot about Seattle's rich history, including how the city got its name and the events that shaped it into what it is today. Our tour guide, David, was both knowledgeable and entertaining, making the history come alive with his humor and storytelling. One of the highlights was walking through the original city streets that were built at sea level and now lie beneath modern-day Seattle. It was fascinating to see a hidden part of the city that most people never get to experience. The 65-minute tour was engaging from start to finish and offered a great perspective of Seattle both above and below ground. If you're visiting Seattle or even if you're a local looking to learn more about the city's past, this tour is absolutely worth it. Definitely a must-do experience!
