Per the recommendation of my barber, the best way to go to the mariners game was to take the Bremerton ferry. He was not wrong. On a warm, sunny day, the ferry ride to Seattle is half the fun. Depending on if your team actually won the ballgame, the ferry ride might even the best part. There is an alternative fast ferry, which is 30 minutes instead of 50, but that's seems to cater to the commuting crowd because it only runs Monday thru Saturday, excluding Sundays and holidays and any other day that may not have enough traffic. Fortunately, the 50 minutes is not a problem because there are great views the whole way, of the Peninsua and seattle. The only people that had to really work for their tickets were those taking their car. Normal passengers and bikers didn't have a problem. Bikers seemed to have favored access with both cheap tickets and first passengers on and off the ferry.

What can I say, it's a ferry to take people across a body of water. Clean, on time, indoor seating or stand outdoors. Takes cars. Snack bar. Restrooms leave terminal clean Beats an hour plus drive in traffic

Heading to Seattle.

If you're traveling to and from Seattle via Bremerton, the chances are you're going to utilize the ferry to get you there. A huge plus, it's completely free to go into Seattle itself, you only have to pay on your return visit which is only about $8. There aren't a whole lot of bells and whistles to the building, but they do have a Starbucks, small grocery store a few fast-casual restaurants and a museum adjacent in case you want to grab a quite bite or need to kill some time before the departure date. There's even a dive bar across the street that seems to constantly have a happy hour - it's a no frills spot, but if you want to get slammered before setting sail, you're in luck! Like driving, there's a lot more traffic in the morning hours when people are commuting to work and even more congestion when people are getting off. When the weather is nice, I suggest hanging on the deck - it's partially covered to protect you from the wind, but the views are pretty spectacular when it's warm clear day.

What a fun experience!! We took the ferry to the Seattle Seahawks game and IT WAS A BLAST!!! Surrounded by fellow Seattle Seahawk fans!! The staff was amazing, the food was great and the beer was cold!!! Beautiful float across the water!! Will definitely be taking this venture more often! The ride back at night was fun too!! Thank you to the whole Ferry system for being so incredible!! 10/10 recommend!!

Ferry is a great option to get to Seattle! Lots of seating on the car ferry. The ferry ride offers great photo ops! Bathrooms are available, they could be cleaned more often. Few vending machines, a snack bar too. The ride takes close to an hour, which is plenty of time to relax, eat, study, sleep etc; I personally like taking it back to Bremerton after a long day of sightseeing, I can nap for a bit! It's inexpensive to ride, and operates from morning to late night.

During an era when cycling will eventually rule, this is a facility...I.commend the atmosphere

One has only seen two of these public work stations in the state of Wa. And this one is the most advanced, well engineered, and may one say thoughtful?, features this podunck area has ever done for both the cycling "enthusiasts" and those whom live and die by theire machines

They don't enforce the mask order on the Seattle/Bremerton ferry

If your immunocompromised I would strongly advise against riding the Seattle/Bremerton ferry. They do NOT enforce the mask order nor do they take any steps to sanitize seats after passengers get off and new ones get on. I'm appalled, actually, at how many people took their masks off immediately after getting on board and not a soul said anything to them about it. There were at least 100 people on board and at least 60% were without their masks in their seats. They also do nothing to enforce social distancing prior to departure in the terminal. On the Seattle side People are always literally crammed into a tiny room standing nearly shoulder to shoulder--I always wait outside. I can't believe this is allowed to continue. These were just a few of the people sitting on one level near by where I was sitting. But like I said, when I walked around at least 60 percent of the passangers were unmasked for the duration of the trip!!!

This is another of those, How can I not have already written a review of this?? reviews. I like the Washington State Ferries. It's one of the best tourist deals in town. It gets you out on the water. You get to see the city from a distance (great photo ops) The interior is basic and food comes from vending machines. I am usually out front taking in the view. It makes for a good picnic spot to. Especially on a nice day when you can be out in the wind checking out the views! Ive taken the ferries many times. Usually I go to Bainbridge Island as its a bit closer. This time we drove to Bremerton and took the ferry across. It was a great choice! We had plenty of time and enjoyed the drive and the ferry wait was just long enough to run to Starbucks (it overlooks the ferry driveway) to get a drink and use the .....facilities. Then on to the ride across which was fun and quick and dropped us off at the waterfront where we stopped for a while.

The fountains at the terminal.

It is what it is. A public transportation center. Ferry is cool. All the junkies I can do without

You better hope you don't miss that one as they tend to run on time.....if you do, plan to be stuck in Seattle for about 4 hours.

Kitsap Transit is the public bus company for Kitsap County. They have a number of routed buses, as…read morewell as an on-demand shared ride service in which you can request a ride and be dropped almost anywhere within the service map. My primary use of Kitsap Transit is to travel from Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo. The bus schedule for this route is limited as it only runs once a hour. It does not take in consideration the ferry schedule to Bainbridge Island. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way as I missed my connecting bus to Poulsbo due to the delay and had to wait another hour for the next one. In returning to Bainbridge Island, I did also have to take into consideration of the hourly service schedule. So if you are a tourist traveling from Seattle and checking out Kitsap County using Kitsap Transit and the ferry, you will need to have a strong sense of time management. Also, another negative with Kitsap Transit is they don't have bus service on Sundays. Though that is changing as the Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo route will offer Sunday service soon. While I wish Kitsap County would have better public bus service, I think this is the best that can be expected given the relatively low ridership compared to King County.

Kitsap Transit - BI Ride experience #2 (noon): Iffy. Pickup delays. Uber had a better overall offer. Got places to go. No time to waste.

BI Ride Experience…read more#1: + Only $2 for an on-demand BUS ride?? Sign me up! +95% cheaper than any Seattle Uber/Lyft ride, das for sure! ++ Having a whole empty bus pick up only me and drive only me around felt like a red carpet treatment. xD + The app provides live updates of your bus' location on its way to you by the minute. + Friendly, helpful driver staff. + Spacious. Only 2-4 occupants at a time. You totally have your choice of seat. + If you're lucky, fast pickup. I was at the Seattle ferry terminal when I ordered via Ride Pingo. The bus came within 2min! Experience #2: - If you're unlucky, pickup could take over 30min. The service is a shared ride, so if someone else happens to request a ride around the same time as you, and they're located a bit out of the way, the bus will still reroute to pick up the other person first (and possibly drop them off at their destination, unfortunately) before finally picking you up. Uber and Lyft don't share this flaw. - Furthermore, once you request a ride, you'd best stay put. The Ride Pingo app doesn't provide the bus driver a live update of your location like other rideshares do. Initially staying put, I saw the added delays. I decided to start walking from my pickup point toward the bus. I stayed on the path the bus would take to reach me, so the driver will see me. After a 15min walk, the bus showed up and drove past me. I waved to the driver, and the driver waved back at me as she kept driving. I felt nervous and abandoned, but I quickly looked up BI Ride (Kitsap Transit)'s phone # and eventually got it sorted out. After some scrambling on both sides, finally the bus found me. - And during this incident, I checked that a $9 Uber would've picked me up in 8min (while a $52 Lyft would pick me up in 27min. shocker). - After picking me up, the driver proceeded to pick someone else up and then drop them off before 'finally' dropping me off at Ba Sa Restaurant. Experience #3 (avoided another predicament): - Requesting another BI Ride later that afternoon, I would be stop #7 and pickup would be in 27min. holy moly. Not worth the $2. Rather pay more for Uber, pick me up right away. Summary My experience with Kitsap Transit's BI Ride was marvelous in the morning (Mon 11am), questionable at noon, and dismal by afternoon (2:31pm).

Yesterday, I arrived at the terminal at 6pm for the 6:25pm scheduled departure to Silverdale #333…read more Upon arrival, the driver, who was carrying a large bag, exited the bus and closed the door without allowing me to board while I waited for departure. The female driver exhibited a lack of consideration. At 6:34 pm, she was still engaged in conversation with another female driver instead of returning to the bus to activate the interior lights and open the door for passengers. Consequently, other passengers entered the bus, and I followed. The driver returned at 6:35. I hope that drivers will receive training on the importance of consideration and allowing waiting passengers to board the bus. As the waiting area seating was infested with biting insects, I was unable to sit there.
