Never encountered this service. Got to the island the long way, GPS led me to the ferry on the way back. By the time I figured out there is only one lane to the terminal, the safest thing I could do was cut in line. It was not on purpose. It would not have been safe making a U-turn. I still cut in line far away from the terminal. So I sat there waiting for a while too. I drive up to the booth and some rude female employee with long grey hair tells me someone reported me as cutting in line and I have to turn around and go to the back of the line. At that point, I asked her how do I avoid the ferry altogether? She literally rolled her eyes at me. Thanks for the attitude! Really encourages people to come back to your area and spend money. Oh and thanks to forever reported me, I love snitches. Maybe look at the license plate and see if someone is not local and maybe cut them some slack. Wow, used the KING COUNTY Water Taxi for my Game 1 & 2 of the World Cup experience and loved it…read more Frank discovered a new mode of transportation from West Seattle to downtown... Well, I started my day parking on the street by the dock. I jumped in line with fellow soccer followers on game day. Waited in line for maybe 15 minutes and a mini ferry showed up. I paid with my credit card ( $5.50 ) which was a screaming deal. Grabbed an upper deck seat for the journey and waited to launch. I think maybe 15 minutes to cross the great water way and that was it. For those considering using this service I highly recommend it. You're dropped off on the waterfront and have easy access to Pioneer Square, Stadiums & Pike Place Market. Cost wise it's really a great alternative to driving into town.. I'll use again in a few days for game 2 of THE WORLD CUP!

Got in the waiting-to-board area around 10:45 am and boarded the 11 am ferry. The decision to skip Langley is right since many shops weren't open at this time and the ferry wait will only get worse when time progresses. It costs $13.30 for our car with two passengers, but I'm not sure if the number of passengers matter here or not for the price. My guess is that they charge per car. The ferry ride from Clinton to Mukilteo only takes about 20 min, and there was a broadcast to make everyone return to their car at 11:14 am. There is a cafeteria on board but it's tiny. They do have warm options like pretzels with cheese dip or clam chowder. The bathrooms on board have like 15 toilets. Pro tip: the ferry on the hour (or 5 min after) fits 144 cars whereas the other one fits 90 cars. It might help with estimating whether you can make a certain ferry or not lol.

For the queue, cars are lined up in columns with employees directing traffic. Once we parked, we were free to explore the upper passenger levels. The ferry is massive, so there is plenty of seating inside and a good amount of railing space on the outside if you want an unobstructed view. In my opinion, of all the different scenic spots we tried to visit, this ride gave the best views of Seattle. Restrooms on board. Coolest sighting - if you watch the water, every now and then, you'll see an Egg Yolk Jellyfish. They're bright yellow and grow up to two feet in diameter. Is it worth it? Highly unprofessional. No communication at all -- announcement about a delay, the cause, when we can expect progress, apology, etc. Let's see when we actually depart. Apparently, just found out it's pretty common for it to be delayed by an hour. Then they should adjust their schedule accordingly. People make plans around schedules! We need transportation schedules to be relatively accurate. DEPARTURE 2:48. 38 minute delay.
