I noticed we lived not that far off the flight path- and thought "how cool would it be if I made a GIANT sign on the roof of our home, then got to fly over it...?" I called and asked Seattle HeliTours- please please can you fly over my home... they called me back with a YES! This part may make you ill; the day before I bought 4' Blue Painters Tape went on the roof and taped a huge I LOVE YOU. The day of the flight the pilot maintained the surprise for my boyfriend; they were professional, kins, bend over backwards kind of folks! We did 2 circles around the house and my Boyfriends Birthday was a success as was his surprise! The views, the helicopter, the pilot everything was an experience of a lifetime.

Then he flew us to Bellevue circled around the city and headed to the Space Needle. It was unbelievable how close he flew to the Space Needle and downtown Seattle. He then headed down the straits back to Gig Harbor, explaining all the sights along the way. He then circled around Fox Island did a great landing at the airport for a great flight. The only saving point of this establishment is Mark (seaplane pilot) who made all the efforts to not only ensure that our experience on the air was great but also to redeem the Company. Overall, in the state where aviation is one of the major industries, there are better, more professional, and cost efficient companies and small businesses. Try them. Thankfully, our pilot, James, was a jovial fellow with a good command of his craft. A short three minutes later I felt my pucker give way to a state of enrapturement at the Seattle skyline from several hundred feet in the air. Alaska Airlines $ALK from…read moreSan Francisco. from Gate to Baggage, took the internal train, then went to the Shuttle Islands to notify my hotel that I had arrived and was ready for a pickup. It was helpful that there was a directory at the shuttle pickup islands indicating where each destination did pickups. But the signage and maps were initially confusing, and it had not been clear what level lead to hotel shuttles. Departure May 10 $ALK heading back to San Francisco. Arrived via Norwegian $NCLH port to airport shuttle $30, purchased at the port entire bus unloaded near Alaska Airlines, where $ALK $DAL both had luggage tagging available, you could also request mobility assistance but the waiting area on the lower level was jammed on this Sunday morning. this was the start of the Alaska cruising season so numerous ships were loading and unloading guests. Lots Alaska cruisers have mobility assistance needs so Sundays will be significantly impacted during the Alaska cruise season Months I would suggest if able to skip the mobility and bag tagging on the lower level , and just continue to the upper level if able and if you have priority status. Security was not bad but remove laptops, iPads from bags. if your shaving kit has bottles that are large containing liquids pack them into a checked bag. FYI, if flying Alaska $ALK, and you pay for your ticket with the base fee credit card you can check one bag at no cost, 1st class you get 2 checked bags per flight. Bag fees can justify the Credit Card Fee or enhanced Fare Seat Purchase. TSA was on my day painless, I present a passport when flying or cruising. Movement within the terminal was easy via the internal rail. Needed to use the toilet near my gate, and all of the toilets had their rolls of tissue Exhausted, I Pack a roll of tissue in my carry bag in addition to wipes just in case of situations like this. Terminal felt slightly claustrophobic, and gate lounges were full with barely enough seating. The positive was that you walk less, but the spaces feel full. SEA and SFO move near equal number of passengers, but SEA felt far more crowded on my departure days.

We didn't know anything about going on safari, and Phil build a custom trip that catered to exactly our personal travel style of going to some of the more off-the-beaten-path places with fewer tourists, but still lots of amazing experiences (we watched a family of elephants chase off a pair of male lions!). Everyone we met was on their 4th or 10th safari and when they found out we'd never been before, they'd always ask, "So how did you even find this place?" Also I had no idea you could have a vacation with this much adventure and yet zero stress. Having Phil take care of everything and getting it all arranged for and paid in advance took a HUGE load off of us, which was so great as we both have jobs where we typically do a lot of planning and project management.
