Enjoyable and interesting!! Captain Ethan gives a great 2-hour tour of Peugeot Sound. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and his passion is obvious. He is extremely attentive to his touring guests and frequently asks individual groups if there are any questions. Crew was friendly and fielded a thousand questions about navigating, shoreline familiarization, sailing in general, local customs, the homes of the rich and famous, etc. Captain Brian (sp?) was professional and safe, but available to customize the ride for those of us unfamiliar with the terrain. We loved this tour. We were going to kayak but when we found out that a harbor tour will be going out at 4pm. It was in 20 minuets so we decided to go for it. I have several family members that live in Gig Harbor but none of them have been on this tour. There were only 10 of us going on this tour so there was plenty of room. Great boat tour through the harbor. Our guide ethan was enthusiastic and gave a great detailed history of the bridge, early settlement, and property in the area. The tour took around 2 hours and we were able to see some seals and bald eagles. Ethan triple checked throughout the tour to make sure we were warm and comfortable enough. Wanted to do something special for the 4th given that my significantly better half's family were in town for the holiday weekend. Capt. Tom was very thorough and helpful when explaining what to expect--we have someone in a wheel chair in our party, and the crew (and the other patrons) were very accommodating of her as she took a little extra time to get on and off the boat. Even this wasn't billed as a harbor tour, Capt. Tom still taught us a lot about the sights we were seeing as we made our way to Quartermaster Harbor. The fireworks show was not only one of the best I have ever seen, but watching from a boat on the water was something that can't be beat either. The pictures nor the 5 star rating do not do this experience justice--this was one of the best 4th of Julys we are planning to ever have--and we're perfectly content if nothing caps this experience. read more

We had so much fun on our tour under the Narrows Bridge. We felt completely safe (I'm a nervous boat person), and the captain's narration was outstanding. We learned quite a bit about the Narrows Bridge (fascinating history), the tidal power in the area, and wildlife. We had many close-up sightings of eagles, seals, grebes, and even an enormous sea lion. The captain and his assistant knew how to get good views without disturbing the animals. There was just enough narration to keep us entertained and informed, but not too much--there was plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sights. Highly recommend! read more

Don't know why my mum got this place confused with Riveria or what the mess was with that, but if you happen to mistake it as well -- this is destiny boat cruises, and if you followed the instructions on google to find Riveria cruises, then you are on the opposite side of Gig Harbor!! Okay, enough about that. This cruise was fun. The captain (Tom) seemed friendly and knowledgable, and even on that horribly hot day we were there, it did cool down enough to be very pleasant. So what's in this cruise? The Captain gives historical tidbits about old ships in the harbor first and then makes the way gradually towards the Tacoma-Narrows bridge (and along this trek you learn mostly about tides, dropstones, landslides, etc.). Once you get there there is the history of the infamous Galloping Gertie, and some other natural history on the way back (in which you pass by Point Defiance and get a view of the port of Tacoma from a distance). Expect to see some harbor seals and maybe eagles. There are a number of attractive boat houses as well that might be fun to photograph. This cruise is two hours long, so make sure to use the bathroom first. There is also not much in the way of shade except for those few lucky ones who get seated up front, so bring the sunscreen and a hat! read more

I am a Harbor local and found our captain, Ethan, to be very knowledgeable and I learned a lot more than I thought I would. If you are visiting from out of town I'd consider this a must do. A friend and I took Destiny Harbor Tours in early Oct 2022. Captain Tom and wife Mary were gracious hosts and Captain Tom has a huge wealth of information about the area, much of which we did not know such as the Old Ferry Landing and that "Galloping Gertie" still remains at the bottom of the Narrows. The water was as smooth as glass, saw lots of seals and other wildlife. Of course, they cannot promise you will see a whale...but we saw one! A junior humpback between Pt. Defiance and the ferry.
