Had a great tour on one of the Navy Whale boats. The Captain was very knowledgeable and friendly. Learned a lot about Gig Harbor and the history of the Tacoma Narrows bridges. Along with seeing lots of wildlife (bald eagles, harbor seals, and giant sea lions), we got to see Salmon Beach, a unique waterfront Tacoma neighborhood only accessible by hiking or boat. read more

Fun boat ride to see wild life and the islands outside of gig harbor. Definitely worth the $50, the tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke clearly. Fun getting out on the water on a clear day. We ran 10 minutes behind and they were even nice enough to wait for us!!! Left a nice tip! read more

Enjoyable and interesting!! Captain Ethan gives a great 2-hour tour of Peugeot Sound. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and his passion is obvious. He is extremely attentive to his touring guests and frequently asks individual groups if there are any questions. He is a very kind man, making a special trip to a dock to pick up my 2 friends and myself because I went to the wrong dock in error...he even returned us to the dock we boarded on. So much fun sailing across the water with the wind blowing in my hair!!! Jeanine Martin read more

We went on both the Gig Harbor and the Sunset cruises and loved every minute of it. When you call to make your reservation, Mary is very helpful and friendly. She does a great job making giving you the itinerary and directions. Captain Ethan was very friendly. He has a lot of knowledge about the area and was happy to answer all questions. CaptainTom on the Sunset cruise, was very knowledgeable of the area and knew all of the best photo ops for pictures. He comes around multiple times to make sure all your questions are answered. Both Ethan and Tom go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your trip! We very highly recommend both tours....you will love it!!! read more

Great tour! Crew was friendly and fielded a thousand questions about navigating, shoreline familiarization, sailing in general, local customs, the homes of the rich and famous, etc. Captain Brian (sp?) was professional and safe, but available to customize the ride for those of us unfamiliar with the terrain. Dinner was exceptional, and those that drank at the bar gave very positive reviews. Very fun, and a great time. Highly recommended for party groups! read more

We loved this tour. We were going to kayak but when we found out that a harbor tour will be going out at 4pm. It was in 20 minuets so we decided to go for it. I have several family members that live in Gig Harbor but none of them have been on this tour. There were only 10 of us going on this tour so there was plenty of room. Also it was a perfect sunny day. We had a wonderful time. It was very informative and fun. After telling my family members what a great time we had, now they all want to go on this tour. Don't forget to check in because you save $3 per person in your party. read more

Great boat tour through the harbor. Our guide ethan was enthusiastic and gave a great detailed history of the bridge, early settlement, and property in the area. The tour took around 2 hours and we were able to see some seals and bald eagles. Ethan triple checked throughout the tour to make sure we were warm and comfortable enough. Would recommend if you're looking for something fun to do in the area ! read more

Captain Tom from Destiny Harbor Tours was there for me and my family when we needed his services the most. In April 2023, we were looking for a beautiful area to spread my mother's ashes, but that it wasn't too expensive, and was also on super short-notice. Tom was extremely helpful, kind, and willing to work with us on such a short-notice. He made the most painful experience of my life a little easier. Thank you Tom for your service, kindness, and flexibility to work with our needs in such a time. I highly recommend Destiny Harbor Tours in Gig Harbor. read more

Wanted to do something special for the 4th given that my significantly better half's family were in town for the holiday weekend. Capt. Tom was very thorough and helpful when explaining what to expect--we have someone in a wheel chair in our party, and the crew (and the other patrons) were very accommodating of her as she took a little extra time to get on and off the boat. Even this wasn't billed as a harbor tour, Capt. Tom still taught us a lot about the sights we were seeing as we made our way to Quartermaster Harbor. The fireworks show was not only one of the best I have ever seen, but watching from a boat on the water was something that can't be beat either. The pictures nor the 5 star rating do not do this experience justice--this was one of the best 4th of Julys we are planning to ever have--and we're perfectly content if nothing caps this experience. read more

Don't know why my mum got this place confused with Riveria or what the mess was with that, but if you happen to mistake it as well -- this is destiny boat cruises, and if you followed the instructions on google to find Riveria cruises, then you are on the opposite side of Gig Harbor!! Okay, enough about that. This cruise was fun. The captain (Tom) seemed friendly and knowledgable, and even on that horribly hot day we were there, it did cool down enough to be very pleasant. So what's in this cruise? The Captain gives historical tidbits about old ships in the harbor first and then makes the way gradually towards the Tacoma-Narrows bridge (and along this trek you learn mostly about tides, dropstones, landslides, etc.). Once you get there there is the history of the infamous Galloping Gertie, and some other natural history on the way back (in which you pass by Point Defiance and get a view of the port of Tacoma from a distance). Expect to see some harbor seals and maybe eagles. There are a number of attractive boat houses as well that might be fun to photograph. This cruise is two hours long, so make sure to use the bathroom first. There is also not much in the way of shade except for those few lucky ones who get seated up front, so bring the sunscreen and a hat! read more

We had so much fun on our tour under the Narrows Bridge. We felt completely safe (I'm a nervous boat person), and the captain's narration was outstanding. We learned quite a bit about the Narrows Bridge (fascinating history), the tidal power in the area, and wildlife. We had many close-up sightings of eagles, seals, grebes, and even an enormous sea lion. The captain and his assistant knew how to get good views without disturbing the animals. There was just enough narration to keep us entertained and informed, but not too much--there was plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sights. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and kids and I went on this tour recently. It was a nice little trip. A very scenic ride on a clear day. I am a Harbor local and found our captain, Ethan, to be very knowledgeable and I learned a lot more than I thought I would. If you are visiting from out of town I'd consider this a must do. If you are local it's also very worth doing as well. read more

A friend and I took Destiny Harbor Tours in early Oct 2022. Captain Tom and wife Mary were gracious hosts and Captain Tom has a huge wealth of information about the area, much of which we did not know such as the Old Ferry Landing and that "Galloping Gertie" still remains at the bottom of the Narrows. The water was as smooth as glass, saw lots of seals and other wildlife. Of course, they cannot promise you will see a whale...but we saw one! A junior humpback between Pt. Defiance and the ferry. We shot a ton of photos. This tour is absolutely worth the money! read more

This business provides power boat tours of the south Puget Sound in a very laid-back, semi-informative and entertaining way. It's short on fancy-shmancy details. You're not offered hot chocolate, wine, cheese or binoculars. The tours are either 2 hours or 1 hour in duration. They're not exciting. It's a good way to get a new perspective on the area. The 2 hour tour takes you under and past the Narrows Bridges, Salmon Beach houses, a couple of other places... It's a nice way to slow down and do nothing but look around. It's a little expensive. read more
