Looking back at the city, from Elliott Bay
Lindsay C.

As a local to Seattle, I have to admit: when a friend suggested a summer boat cruise around Elliott Bay, I thought: "I've done this 1 million times, why do I need to do it again? This sounds so touristy!" In reality, we were so fortunate to find Sailing Seattle. For about $45 (including a $5 local's discount!), we got two hours on an uncrowded, very chill sailboat around Puget Sound. The crew was informative and laid-back, you can bring food and beverages on board, and overall, the vibe is just very chill. (Read: this is not your grandma's silly, touristy chug around Seattle!) The icing on the cake was that we had a friend who last minute wasn't feeling well and wasn't able to attend. After the boat ride, we went up to the little information booth and asked if they would give us a discount towards a future tour. Instead, they fully refunded her money! i feel like that level of customer service is so hard to find these days. Thank you, Sailing Seattle! We cannot wait to return.

I had a friend visiting for the weekend and we wanted to get out in the water. We saw other cruise options but stumbled upon this one and are so happy we did! The crew is super welcoming and professional. It is byob and food which is a nice so you can bring what you'd like. They have blankets and jackets if needed and there was a bathroom on board. I would strongly recommend taking this adventure! Even as a local, I would definitely do this again anytime I have someone visiting. Could also be nice for a date night because the boat doesn't get too crowded.

What a fabulous experience! We did the sunset sail and could not recommend it enough. We started by ubering down to the Waterfront and getting oysters at Elliot's Oyster House next-door first, then walked over a few minutes before our sail. We then waited in the line to board the boat and seating was first come first serve, but based on a number we got when we checked in. We sat on the front right and it was an amazing view of the city skyline on the way out and of the mountains on the way back. We brought sandwiches and wine because it's BYOB and snacks. The staff is super friendly. They gave us a rundown when we first got on the boat. There was also a bathroom, which was really helpful. Overall, I think this would be a great experience to do with friends who are visiting from out of town. Make sure to bring a jacket because it's chilly on the water!

What a great way to see Seattle from the water! Crew was very friendly and professional, handled a massive 78 foot sailboat perfectly, was just a great experience. Five stars.

We were indirectly gifted this cruise from my parents who had to cancel their trip last summer due to fires. When I called about using their credit, I spoke with Paul who was all too happy to accommodate my request and hooked us up with a Friday night sunset cruise. It sells out quick so plan ahead! Also, bring cash for tips if you don't want to automatically add the 20% tip when purchasing tickets online. In all my years in Seattle, I had never experienced this so it was an amazing treat. The crew were nothing but professional, eager to answer questions, offer blankets (it gets COLD on the water) and super friendly at all times. You can pre order snacks and drinks before you board. You can also BYOB which I thought was great and we saw a lot of guests opting for that. This was the most perfect way to celebrate our return visit to the emerald city after moving to the SW. The views were incredible and we met the most wonderful people.

What a beautiful evening. The weather was in our favor, and while that's out of the company's control, it's still worth mentioning. Smooth water, my favorite cloudy sunny skies, low wind, but enough to fill the sails and we were on our way. The crew was delightful, super laid back and funny. The other passengers seemed to really enjoy themselves, it was such an absolutely chill, good feeling time on the boat. The smooth water and expert sailing allowed us to walk around easily so we could eat up every angle of the stunning view. We went for the sunset cruise so it did get chilly toward the end despite pants and coat, and when we were offered snuggly coats we took them happily. It's a great experience if you want a romantic moment or a laugh puddle with your friends. My cohort ordered the tickets from Viator and he said the prices weren't too shabby and the process was super easy. When we located the booth, it was simple to find, the attendant was more than friendly, and after toodling around the shops and grabbing a bite to eat, we hopped on board with plenty of time to spare. I recommend taking a million pictures, you can't get enough eye candy on this small magical trip out onto the Sound.

Enjoyed our evening sail with these guys! The crew was friendly, prompt, and very knowledgeable. Also loved the BYOB policy to enjoy the weather and water in your own style. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun activity in Seattle

We took the Sunset Sail which was great! We set sail around 6:30pm. There were probably about 20-25 people on board. This was my first time on a sailboat which was cool... just letting the wind guide you. It was quite cool that evening & thankfully we had our hats & gloves which helped. The views were great and it was a cool, relaxing time out on the water.

This is a boat ride pure and simple and well FUN! They have two sailboats and they seem to let you distribute yourselves among the ships. I think my sailboat had fewer passengers. This is not a tour boat so there are no formal seats or guided discussion. You are on a real sailboat and enjoying the ride. We sat in the back by the wheel and even though it was a warm day it was a little chilly once we got out there. They had jackets and blankets and the deckhand brought these out as we asked for them. As previously mentioned you are free to bring your own food or drink or not. I did not see any cups or service items so you would need to bring everything in your picnic basket or small cooler. That said there is a small bathroom on the boat. You have to go below deck and I don't remember much about it except it did not smell and you had to watch your step while going below deck. There was a cute child of about 10 and he hung out with the captain and he was allowed to steer the ship and ask questions. That was a joy to watch and overall we had a wonderful time enjoying the Seattle skyline as the sun set. We did see some loud seals on some kind of barge but no whales or dolphins.

Seattle sailing boarding area

We went to Seattle not planning to sail on a boat and best decision with sailing seattle. It was calming with a beautiful view, it was an hour in a half long and you are able to bring your own drinks (alcohol included) and food on the boat. the crew members were very friendly and would keep you updated with what they were doing around you. I would highly recommend especially if your visiting Seattle and the price was reasonable for an experience that was breath taking!

The staff was exceptional. They were super friendly and our captain was awesome. I went with two friends and we brought loads of wine. We went in early September so it got a little chilly but we only needed light jackets. There was a head on board but it was tight (as expected and it was super clean). There was tons of space on the boat to sit comfortably. We saw the resident pod of orca whales which was awesome. The sunset was beautiful and classically hazy in true Seattle fashion. The view coming back into port was great! I would definitely recommend booking with this company. It's great for a group of friends and for couples. It's super reasonably priced and I'm dying to do it again!

Thank you Captain Coleman and Amy for giving me such a wonderful time on the Obsession! I love Seattle even more now since sailing w yal! Next time I'll def book the Sunset Sail!! And the Northwest :p and learn the sailors Knot ;)

Sarah T.

This is such a fun thing to do for a special occasion, or when friends are in town! I have done the 2.5hr sunset sail twice, and have been pleased with both experiences. You get to see the skyline without having an annoying tourguide talking the entire time. This is not a guided tour whatsoever. The distance that you go is definitely depended on the wind. The second sail we did went a significantly farther distance than the first. I'd definitely recommend wearing a thick jacket/windbreaker and bringing a blanket. They have some blankets on board but they aren't very warm. Bring your own drinks/snacks!!! We bring appetizers and wine (no glass allowed) along for the ride. I'd suggest getting in line early and sitting in the back - it's more comfortable especially when the boat is sideways.

Out-of-towners love it too!

The experience was worth every penny and then some. The luxury, quality, and attention to detail is unmatched. Mark, the owner, was so attentive and a pleasure to work with. My husband is a huge Sleepless in Seattle fan and the highlight of the evening was passing the floating house. The food was amazing. Everything was farm to fork fresh and prepared by a chef onboard. I highly recommend the crab cakes and homemade bourbon ice-cream. The pace of the evening was lovely, it didn't feel rushed or lagging. You could tell Mark worked hard to make sure that our experience from the moment we stepped aboard was seamless. He thought of everything, even providing a cozy blanket when the wind became a little chilly towards the end of the night. I cannot recommend Enchantress Cruises enough! A lot of it was about the downtown Seattle buildings, Space Needle, buildings and parks by the shore, the sea ports and many other cool facts along the way. I throughly enjoyed the hour long tour. The weather was also fantastic to take stunning pictures of the downtown, the mountains and the port. They also had a bar in second level where they served alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, pop corn and some small snacks. Prices were decent for it being a tourist activity. Be prepared to shiver unless you stay inside the whole time (limited seating). The ship was also a bit outdated. Only 6 guests allowed, so the boat is quiet and not over crowded. Only 2-3 crew members who take care of everything and with a smile. They emphasize making the trip as stress-free as possible-and it was. Spacious boat, nice, clean rooms, delicious food, friendly crew. Watch and learn from the chef (who will cater to your likes/dislikes, food allergies and preferences), hang out in the wheelhouse and talk with the captain while looking for wildlife, and drive the boat. Great for all ages-fellow travelers ranged from teen to senior. Lots to do on the boat like movies and local books and plenty more off the boat- kayaking, whaler for easier sight-seeing, 27' sport boat so we could fish as often as we wanted (fishing licenses included-so one less thing we had to deal with). Caught crab and fish and had it for our meals the same day and beyond! We even had some to take home. We saw so much wildlife and other special sites without the cost of extra excursion fares. We rarely saw other boats (besides fishermen) so we were out in Alaska's natural element to take in the scenery with privacy-no big cruise ships or 1000s of people-just a small boat and nature. We were able to get close to wildlife without disturbing them or they followed our boat for up-close and personal experiences-from whales to porpoises, bears to porcupines. You spend a lot of time at sea but in a good way-taking in the surroundings you normally wouldn't see with other tours (large cruises) or traveling on your own. But you can make stops in town for a night depending on what tour you book. With never being on a private charter tour before, we really didn't know what to expect, but we were blown away with the experience and being spoiled. PS - They were great about getting back to us when we had additional questions before booking the trip. Also, they will work to pick you up at your hotel or airport.
