Captain Russ is an amazing boat host. He skillfully sailed our group of six out of Shilshole Bay marina one spring evening in his immaculately-maintained boat. We snacked, drank, socialized, and enjoyed staggeringly beautiful views as Russ pointed out marine life (this time mostly sea lions and some porpoises, but he does regularly see whales!) and answered our questions about local geography and marine history (he seems to know everything about both). Russ is charming and knowledgeable and, most importantly, very good at sailing. He is focused on both the enjoyment and safety of his guests. His outings also a great deal; I did some comparison shopping and no one beats Russ's rates for what you get. He delivered an experience above and beyond our expectations so we will be back. Booked a 1 hour charter cruise for 6 people on the 4th of July, over 2 months in advance. I received an email a week and a half before our event, informing us that our booking has been cancelled because the police uses their parking lot for emergency responses. This is extremely unfortunate as this throws a major wrench in our 4th of July weekend plans. We planned and booked this way in advance only to have it cancelled when it's right around the corner and now we have to try and figure out a plan B at the last minute. I'm giving 2 stars because i'm giving the benefit of the doubt that they had no idea that the police was going to be using their parking lot for the 4th of July, but even then, this doesn't make up for the major inconvenience we will be facing. Is this the first time this is happening? If not wouldn't they have known that SPD would utilize their parking lot again? If so, why wouldn't the booking for this day/time already be blocked out so that people wouldn't run into this issue. Again, this is unfortunate, as I've read positive things about them and I wanted to experience what they offered. Just don't go making a booking on the 4th of July I suppose. My friends and I scheduled the 2 hour tour (you have book a minimum of 3 people no more than 6) and since nobody else booked it was just the 3 of us!!!! WINNING!!! AND they were running a special!! Our captain (Captain Madeline) was PHENOMENAL!!!! I had spoke with her the day before we booked and even though she was giving me bad news, she was very nice about it. :) We met with her around 11 in the morning and we (I) should've read the email a little better. You can have drinks (DRANKS) on the yacht BUT the Captain pours them and already has them there. You can bring your own (we brought champagne) but if you're running behind (like we were) you don't need to stop, there's a nicely stocked bar on the yacht AND Madeline is licensed. She was super knowledgeable and pointed out all types of fun facts! What was even cooler is I'm in real estate so she talked to me about all the lake houses and the price points of them and such, even down to the square footage, lol! It was great! It was unusually perfect summer Seattle weather, so my only tip is to make sure you bring and apply lots of sunscreen. The boat was nice, weather was perfect, and the drinks were cheap, but our captain David was not very polite or happy to be there. He didn't show us anything but 1 house and a helicopter pad. From start to finish, this company was an absolutely pleasure to work and play with. Setting up our trip and reserving it was a breeze. Our captain Russ was also great. Beyond it being one of the most gorgeous days this season to sail, Russ was a fantastic captain and overall - today's 3 hour sail was an amazing experience! I booked a morning sail last minute - I was a bit hesitant to go on the sailboat because I couldn't find anyone to go with. When I reached out to Dylan via email to inquire about going solo, he not only answered my questions in 5 min, but quickly put my nerves at ease and let me know this was more of a social cruise, and another couple who were travelers had also booked and their intent was to meet others - I was quickly sold. Another huge plus of the tour was that it was 3 hours - most in the area I have found have been 1.5 which in my personal opinion, isn't long enough. We had a glorious 3 hour cruise; Captain Russ was super entertaining telling us loads of stories and answered all of my questions. He took all safety precautions and made us feel really safe on the boat. I am so glad that Candere now offers an option to book solo since I often want to go sailing for more than 1.5 hours, and I'm not always able to convince friends to go with me. Great experience for tourists and locals alike. Before our cruise, Captain Dylan was easy to communicate with and even accommodated a change of date since I was sick. The directions down to the dock were straightforward, and we took off promptly at our 5:30pm sail time. On board, I loved the wood interior and extra touch of local beers and spirits. My wife and I were acting as tour guides for our friends from Southern California. Four of us had a great day on the water for our friend's bachelorette party. Captain Dylan and his first mate Emily were so friendly and informative on the entire cruise around the bay while still allowing us time to hang out and chat on our own. It was a beautiful day on the water and we were able to see the famous floating houses, bridges, and a view of Seattle you wouldn't get just walking around downtown. The first drink is free and drinks are available for purchase on board (cocktails, beer, wine) for a very reasonable price. What a beautiful day exploring lake union with friends! I booked this boat cruise as part of my best friend's bachelorette party. As the maid-of-honor, I was looking for a "drinking-friendly" day on the water and stumbled upon Candere Cruising after google-ing "Seattle Booze Cruise." Having lived in Seattle for my entire life, I knew finding a booze cruise similar to the ones they have in Mexico would be an impossible feat. However, Captain Dylan did not disappoint! The drinks were wonderful, the conversation was fun, and he did an excellent job of balancing being bartender, photographer, joke-teller, and chauffeur. On a cruise that might traditionally be more of a historical tour of the lake, Captain Dylan did an AMAZING job of adapting to our rowdy group and allowing us to enjoy our day together. The two-hour time slot was perfect! When we were curious about surrounding areas, he was able to answer our questions. When our glasses were nearing empty, Captain Dylan was at the ready. He combined all the best parts of allowing us to enjoy our girls' day, while still entertaining us with jokes, and fun facts. We were able to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks on board. Brining a tray of pre-made sandwiches and water bottles was perfect! Meeting up with Captain Dylan at the Marina was easy and smooth. And parking was a breeze because there was a paid lot right by the boat dock. He even called us about 30 minutes before our cruise to make sure we didn't have any questions about parking or directions. Overall, this was one of the most memorable excursions I have been to in Seattle, and the bride's favorite event of the day! We made a pact to go again next year. What a wonderful two hours on the Sound. Dillion and his cruiser boat did not disappoint our 4 person crew celebrating a birthday. Dillion was 'chill' and can really make a drink.
