I've taken the 3-hour sunset cruise twice, 3 years ago and then just yesterday. I can't say enough about Captain Tom and the whole experience. His storytelling and pointing out many of the things we were passing by is just so informative. Even though my girlfriends and I live in seattle, it was just so magical. Of course it didn't hurt that we had a spectacular day but the whole experience was wonderful. Heaters on the boat, blankets, it was just the best experience and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. If I could give Captain Tom 10 Stars I would! read more

Thank you Riviera Cruises for an incredible charter for our wedding ceremony! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Captain Tom was so helpful and communicative during the planning process and made all our hopes come true. Deckhand Chloe was also so kind and helpful day of! The boat was very comfortable and so spacious for our small group of 18. We were even able to bring our own catering and add some decorations, although the boat is so pretty it really didn't need anything else! It was the perfect mix of being immersed in nature while still easily accessible for our older relatives to join too. The three hour charter took us through stunning scenery and countless wildlife sightings. Truly the best and most unique wedding experience in the PNW! Our guests cant stop talking about how much fun they had. Highly recommend!! read more

Highly recommended for anyone looking to get out on the water, relax, and take in the views. It was perfect. Almost like a mini vacation. Easy to book and surprisingly affordable read more

I went on a Riviera Cruise for a work related event, a retirement party for a coworker this past summer. It was a lot of fun and the party itself went very smoothly! We went a sort of a circle in Commencement Bay and turned around in the Point Defiance area to head back to Thea Foss which is where we boarded the boat. Got lots of information to landmarks as we went by Brown's Point, a buoy with a big sea lion on it and other points of interest. So very grateful this was before the smoke season started because the views from the boat were just fantastic. Our hosts that kept the boat going did a superb job making us feel welcome and to make sure we had an enjoyable time. After this I went and looked at Riviera Cruises website and they do tours around Gig Harbor and just outside it as well as boat charting jaunts as well. I'd love to do the Gig Harbor option sometime as I haven't boated around in that area before and hopefully get some great tidbits of information with points of interest that we are seeing. read more

I joined my girlfriends for a "ladies night out" on Riviera's 3-hour sunset cruise in late August. What a blast! Highly recommended for a super fun and informative tour around Gig Harbor and the South Sound area. We had both "old timer" local residents and newly relocated folks in our group. Everyone enjoyed taking in the beauty of the South Sound -- seeing the twinkle lights come on across the water, discovering tucked-away house camps on the water's edge and admiring some of the most beautiful view homes in the area. Motoring under the Narrows Bridge was quite a thrill as well. We spied seals and, we think, a porpoise along the way! Captain Tom's informative narration of what we were seeing contributed immensely to the experience. Some of us who have lived in the area for years learned new things and we were treated to some great Gig Harbor/Tacoma sailing lore as well. He was so good natured and even took a group photo for us mid-voyage! Accommodations on the boat were spacious and super clean. The bathroom (we now call it "the head") was spotless. Our evening was a bit chilly on the water and there was a nice, sheltered covered inside cabin area with a two-bench table for those who wanted to avoid the sea breeze and just chat among themselves. The upper deck was roomy enough for all of us and provided loft to see the wildlife from all angles! Of course we could also head up to the bow and really catch the wind. It was awesome! The nautical navigation was terrific -- those prone to sea queasiness felt none. Captain Tom's crew was mindful, polite and safety conscious. This evening cruise allowed us to bring our own appetizers and drinks (finger food, of course!). The three hours passed way too quickly and we all vowed to return again next year. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a fantastic evening or a special occasion. read more

Update: We had our wedding on the Riviera and it was the perfect! There was plenty of room for our 34 guests. Easy access for the older folks. All ages enjoyed the three hour cruise. The tables were just right for our cake, drinks & catering. We tied garlands onto the railings and didn't need any other decorations. The bathroom is nice and bigger than you'd expect. There are plenty of seats both outside and covered. Capt Tom read our vows and made sure that our guests were comfortable. He made sure that our wedding was a wonderful day for all. My wife and I took the sunset cruise on 9/21 and it was our favorite part of our Gig Harbor visit! Captain Tom and Charlie were great and had a ton of information to share about the area. We brought some jackets, snacks, and wine, and had a great time. Would highly recommend this tour. read more

What a fantastic way to see Gig Harbor and the surrounding sights. We have lived in Gig Harbor for 8 years and have explored so many places in Gig Harbor and around the Key Peninsula. This was a true gem to see different communities along the waterfront and the Narrows bridges closeup. Captain Tom was great to fill us in on the local history as we went along. And he was great at providing time for taking pictures at we toured. The Riviera has several sitting areas to be able to enjoy seeing the sights, from the bow sitting area, or the cabin to enjoy your own food (4 people comfortably, maybe 2 more if they are children, or the stern (rear), or a covered area between the cabin and the stern, and then the ?loft? (limit of 8 guests at a time). We saw several bald eagles, some even soared right over the boat, and near Point Defiance a lot of seals. And then Mount Ranier was a sight to behold coming and going. Next time we have friends visiting from out of state we would consider this tour again and again. Thanks Captain Tom and crew for your excellent work and sharing about Gig Harbor and the surrounding sights. read more

We booked a private 2-hour group cruise to memorialize my late mother who was a Gig Harbor local and who loved to take friends & family on Captain Tom's scenic boat tours when they were in town. From the very beginning, Captain Tom was not only responsive, knowledgeable, and professional, but kind and flexible as well. It was a beautiful experience that we will all cherish the rest of our lives. I can't thank Captain Tom enough! read more
