You also get to hear about the city's history and key industries. The ride overall is pretty smooth, and my husband, who gets motion sickness, was totally fine. The boat when docked can experience a little more motion, however, so your mileage may vary. We also found it easy to get seats with good views, and the guides were easy to hear anywhere on the boat. The crew were friendly and engaging, and Angelo and the other staff were very kind to us when my husband and I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary.

There are some differences in their price tiers dependent on the time and type of sailing. Prices can range between $39-$79. Their email notifications are thorough and provided recommendations on parking, things to bring, and what to expect onboard. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. Alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and mimosas are available for purchase onboard the ship. The check-in tent is located by Anthony's on Pier 66. Boarding started at around 10 minutes before departure and crew members walked us down to the marina. The ship is an 85 foot long schooner named Bay Lady and features an 87 foot mast and bench seating with backrests. This ship also has a cannon which they did fire while out on Puget Sound. The tour was 2 hours and unnarrated and bar service immediately started as soon as we cleared the marina. About 30 minutes into the voyage, crew members asked for volunteers to hoist the sails. We were also lucky enough to have Captain Andy on board. If you get Captain Andy, you'll know immediately. The first time you see his mustache, you're going to have an overwhelming urge to address him as "Sir." That mustache has command presence. Beyond the legendary mustache, Captain Andy was incredible. He personalized the experience, shared his knowledge of the area, and somehow made us feel like we were the only people on board. It never felt like a canned tour. It felt like we were out exploring Seattle and the Salish Sea with someone who genuinely enjoys showing people what makes this area special. Beautiful scenery, a phenomenal vessel, incredible photo opportunities, and a captain with a mustache worthy of its own Coast Guard credential. Absolutely worth doing. Now having been to Bainbridge, I'd probably bring the car so we could explore more on the other side.

The ferry ride itself continues to be one of the most iconic travel experiences in the Seattle area. Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, and the surrounding islands we were able to see so clearly on this beautiful hot day. The ferry's name comes from the word wenatch in the Yakama laguage, which means "river flowing from canyon". Such a wonderful experience so glad we had perfect weather and the best company to enjoy the day with.

It's going to go down as one of most memorable and unforgettable adventures! When we're old and grey, will still look back and remember flying the bright beautiful blue skies with you as our Captain. From plane to sea, you get the best of both. Not only did we get to enjoy a ride over the water passing boats, kayakers and se life, we got to experience a 20 minute flight in the air overlooking Seattle. The views were spectacular! A special Thank you to Captain Reed. Our flight was private with just the Captain, my better half and myself, and him being a huge aviation lover, the Captain allowed him to co-pilot.
