WSDOT...how do I love thee, let me count the ways…read more.. 1. I love your pass reports/pass cameras. I live on the west side of the mountains, the parents live on the east side and when we want to connect we always check you out to see the best way to go. 2. I love your Seattle traffic cameras - rarely do I use them for purposes of planning a commute, since I drive on surface streets, but they are entertaining. 3. I love your weather forecasts. They put stupid weather.com to shame! 4. I love your data! Highway statistics...useless (to me) sure, but interesting all the same. Makes for good conversation at the White Horse when I've had a little much. 5. I love the weird earthquake map on your website! It's scary to see how many earthquakes we have EVERY DAY that we just can't feel but again, good conversation. 6. I love your radio station. Like I said, I always check the pass reports before I go, but I like the updates I can get by tuning into whatever AM station, scratchy and robotic as they may be. 7. I love your blog! We were first acquainted back during the snowpocalypse when you couldn't update your website fast enough and sent your photographers around to check stuff out. Very cool, even if it does freeze ALL THE TIME. Whoops. I can't continue, as the WSDOT blog in the next tab is freezing and I might have to reboot. No, actually, it's happening. Well, you can't win them all. But really WSDOT, you do have a special place in my heart and I'm proud to go public with my love for you.

Why is it that Washington state has all this gravel and debris and it tends to have people driving over the debris hitting other cars damaging vehicles. Washington state you need to do better clean your highways on the side of the road. I actually took pictures of Texas and I actually took pictures on 167. The roadways need to be fixed and cleaned up street sweeping or highway sweeping is very much needed. You cannot tell me that we can't afford it. Washington state has enough money for highway sweepers to clean up the debris and glass on all highways. I have provided a picture of their highway and what it looks like on 167. WSDOT DO BETTER! I also got notification that you were supposed to fix the roadway on 186 or 183rd St. in Puyallup and you have not done that yet. You've done everything else by adding sidewalks for pedestrians, but you have not fixed the roadway

Plan accordingly. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ Outdoor adventures keeps the guided groups small (maximum 12 people). I appreciate the small groups since this was my first time kayaking. Three types of kayaks are available: single, double or triple occupancy. Discover is an accepted form of payment. A Discover Pass is required to park at Spencer Spit. If you do not have a pass, a $10 day pass can be purchased with cash or check. There were several rangers checking passes on our visit so be sure to have a pass visibly displayed to avoid being ticketed. WHAT TO BRING - Signed Release of Liability - Bathing suit or non-cotton under layers preferred - A synthetic shirt (capilene, polypro, Under Armor, etc) - Shorts or pants made of a synthetic material (may get wet/damp) - Lightweight fleece jacket or windbreaker/rain jacket to provide warmth - Water shoes or sandals that strap on (or shoes that can get wet) - Sun hat and/or sunglasses - Sunscreen and chapstick - Water bottle - Optional; Camera, Plastic bag for wet items and change of clothing - If you have a gift certificate or prepaid voucher (such as Groupon) please bring a printed copy with you! Dorito Dan was our guide for the day. Dan was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The first hour is dedicated to introductions, procedures and safety. Be sure to use the restroom before departing. Once on the water, there is no turning back. Kayaking is great for teamwork and communication. Both are required to avoid frustration. I recommend wearing weight-lifting/bicycle gloves in order to prevent blisters. Each person in our group started getting blisters towards the end of the tour. During our 3 mile kayaking trip, we spotted starfish, seals and majestic bald eagles. Thank you Outdoor Adventures for providing a magnificent day of play while surrounded by gorgeous Mother Nature. We all plan to return in the near future for another go-around.

We didn't know anything about going on safari, and Phil build a custom trip that catered to exactly our personal travel style of going to some of the more off-the-beaten-path places with fewer tourists, but still lots of amazing experiences (we watched a family of elephants chase off a pair of male lions!). Everyone we met was on their 4th or 10th safari and when they found out we'd never been before, they'd always ask, "So how did you even find this place?" Also I had no idea you could have a vacation with this much adventure and yet zero stress. Having Phil take care of everything and getting it all arranged for and paid in advance took a HUGE load off of us, which was so great as we both have jobs where we typically do a lot of planning and project management. By taking care of that, Phil let us go on an exciting vacation where we actually got to RELAX. We took literally THOUSANDS of amazing photos, but here are just a couple fun ones I shot with my phone.

From the very first day of working with him to plan and organize our trip of a lifetime, we felt we were in great hands. Phil's fantastic first-hand knowledge of the camps allowed him to create a trip that far surpassed the typical group package deals. Phil meticulously plans every detail of the trip, from the best places to stay to recover from jet lag before the safari, to every transfer. You are never left wondering where to go or if someone will be there to meet you. The camps he chooses are small and personal, where you are taken care of and treated like family. The safari experience is second to none, with personal drivers and guides who are excellent, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. If you want a safari experience to remember, I can't recommend Phil and On Safari-In enough!
