Never encountered this service. Got to the island the long way, GPS led me to the ferry on the way back. By the time I figured out there is only one lane to the terminal, the safest thing I could do was cut in line. It was not on purpose. It would not have been safe making a U-turn. I still cut in line far away from the terminal. So I sat there waiting for a while too. I drive up to the booth and some rude female employee with long grey hair tells me someone reported me as cutting in line and I have to turn around and go to the back of the line. At that point, I asked her how do I avoid the ferry altogether? She literally rolled her eyes at me. Thanks for the attitude! Really encourages people to come back to your area and spend money. Oh and thanks to forever reported me, I love snitches. Maybe look at the license plate and see if someone is not local and maybe cut them some slack. As someone that lives in a tourist town myself I can vouch that we treat tourists in our town much better. Oh, and I was told by a shop owner in one of the towns that sometimes the wait time for the ferry is three hours and sometimes, they don't run all of a sudden because there are not enough workers to run them... Good to know. Definitely will keep that in mind when I'm deciding if I want to come back here and is it worth the long drive because I sure am not gonna be taking this ferry. Was a great couple of days, but the last memory leaves a bad taste...

Stay away from this ferry route, always getting stuck on Vashon Island because Washington State…read moreferries suck. Boats are always breaking down or are at least 30min. Late!! Today I will be stuck on Vashon for hours because once again a boat broke down. And the price just keeps going up. The more they charge the worse the service gets!!! By the way I would give the ferry system negative stars if I could. Might as well blame our stupid governor and government while I am on a roll!!!

Today's voyage finds me on the KITTITAS FERRY going to Southworth. Not my final destination yet it's my gateway to receive my CV19 shot and this was a short cut to that final destination. I'll remember this trip for years to come. This review is OFFICIALLY OVER now, The KITTITAS FERRYS PA system is notifying me it's time to disembark and drive away. So long until the next trip! She was so cool to see, this is our second troll to visit while being in this beautiful state! We decided to spend our last day experiencing the ferry ride and go across to Bainbridge and enjoy the afternoon and grab lunch and visit Pea. Such a went quaint little town look forward to visiting again.

We took the ferry to come over from Seattle, we did not bring our car. It's about a 1.5 +/- mile walk from the ferry terminal, with some internet searching we were able to find one of the trailhead entrances, follow the loop trail then find Pia. It's just beyond one of the main parking lots. If you end up by the tennis courts, you've gone too far. Walking back to the main downtown strip area is about another 1.5 miles. When we got there, luckily no one was there, we had the place to ourselves for a while to get some photos, and check it out at our own pace. It's pretty cool to see, worth coming by when on Bainbridge Island. I believe this is my 4th troll statue I've seen in the Seattle area.

I walked about 25 minutes along the shoreline and saw several bunnies and squirrels along the way to Bruun Idun. Under a canopy of trees, peacefully playing an instrument or smoking a pipe. I mean, what can be said about this strange abandoned art installation that hasn't been said…read morealready. It's not a great area, there's currently a homeless encampment right behind it. It has a chain link fence surrounding it giving it a 'We haven't torn this down yet' vibe. Being from the Bay Area and having seen pieces created at The Crucible I personally would call it exceptionally lazy art - if you're generous with the word 'art'. It's a sign, with some pointed cylinders around it. In my opinion the painted pieces at Gas Works are more interesting. I personally think it's only a matter of time before they tear it out and make it into another park so all in all, it's an easy skip.

At one point, I'm sure The Wall of Death was a very cool public art installation in Seattle. It's a…read morepermanently sited installation located along the Burke-Gilman Trail under the University Bridge along NE 40th Street. It was designed and built by Mowry Baden and his son Colin in 1993. While the exhibit sounds ominous, it's neither a memorial or some gothic art piece. Instead, it's a tribute to the structure used to perform "the wall of death," a motorcycle and miniature automobile stunt. While it looks like it was initially quite amazing, The Wall of Death has largely fallen victim to time and graffiti and it's really that graffiti that negatively impacts the appeal of the exhibit. The exhibit includes the cylinder itself on the south side of the Burke-Gilman Trail, as well as a concrete ramp to the north of the trail, which includes a "series of stylized metal chairs mounted to the existing concrete bridge columns and serves as the stands from which the stunts were viewed. The exhibit was originally intended as interactive with skateboarders intended to use it. However, after several skateboarding accidents including one involving a head-on collision between a skateboarder and a cyclist the exhibit was adapted, by Baden himself, to include 25 concrete parking stops. At this point, the exhibit is somewhat fenced in and much more difficult to access. However, it remains one of the more intriguing public art exhibits in Seattle and is still free to see. It's listed in Atlas Obscura. The exhibit was also reportedly damaged on 11/15/20 when a homeless camp tent caught fire. The exhibit is made of concrete, steel, and aluminum and measures 16' x 65' x 30'. It's easy to access the exhibit from the Burke Gilman Trail in the University District. It's near University of Washington housing and only a few blocks from Lake Union. The trail itself is wheelchair friendly and accessible quite easily.

AND I missed Norway! Last, my husband has a Norwegian DNA, I thought he'd appreciate it. If it weren't so hot, we'd see more what Little Norway has to offer. We did visited one of their best restaurants, visited some of the shops (no jewelry store is open on Sunday), antique stores, and actually hubby found a hoodie-less sweat shirt made from cotton! I actually want to spend the night here, so we could venture more, maybe get on the Viking ship and sail off somewhere, and visit the museum and other attractions. What would be a good time to visit is in November & December during their Holiday Festival, Julefest & Bazaar.

The USS Nebraska's keel was laid down in May 26, 1987 ; it was launched on August 15, 1992 and commissioned on July 10, 1993. The sub is home to 1 of two crews for a typical deterrent mission under the MAD strategy for an average of 77 days. Each crew consists of ~17 officers, ~15 petty officers and ~122 enlisted men. The USS Nebraska has completed 18 deterrent missions as of September of 2010. This is the second Navy Ship to honor the State of Nebraska. Duty rotation for the crew is 18 hours with 6 hours at the primary duty station, ~6 hours of other duties. However, officers, however, typically are on for 14 hours or longer. This is the routine for the entire tour of duty. Aside from 24 Trident Ballistic missiles complete with MIRVs (Multiple Independent Reentry Vehicles), the sub features 4 forward torpedo tubes. 4 of the 18 Ohio class submarines are designed SSGNs and are equipped with cruise missiles instead of Trident Missiles. The tour allowed us to see the silos and torpedo bay including the control rooms for each. We also the Mess, the Ward room, the Petty Officers room, the berths of various personal and the bathrooms. The Control center and sonar rooms as well as misc machine rooms were part of the tour. The only areas pretty much off-limits to the friends and families touring the Nebraska was the engine room, nuclear reactor room and sail. We were treated to lunch which was 2 star food with 5 star service. During deployment, the kitchen is active 24/7 and the lunch we were served seemed to reflect what was served on board Kudos to the men (and soon woman) who go on watch on this sub.
