My primary use of Kitsap Transit is to travel from Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo. The bus schedule for this route is limited as it only runs once a hour. It does not take in consideration the ferry schedule to Bainbridge Island. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way as I missed my connecting bus to Poulsbo due to the delay and had to wait another hour for the next one. In returning to Bainbridge Island, I did also have to take into consideration of the hourly service schedule. So if you are a tourist traveling from Seattle and checking out Kitsap County using Kitsap Transit and the ferry, you will need to have a strong sense of time management. Also, another negative with Kitsap Transit is they don't have bus service on Sundays. Though that is changing as the Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo route will offer Sunday service soon. While I wish Kitsap County would have better public bus service, I think this is the best that can be expected given the relatively low ridership compared to King County.

There are a lot of shortened operation times due to upgrades, maintenance and expansion. As large as the Seattle metro area is I'm surprised there wasn't public transit train installed and with good coverage of stops long ago. But it seems to be happening now. I think of Campbell Scott in the movie Singles and how his plan gets shot down for a broader commute expansion with trains for a plan he submitted. It almost feels like an inside joke and maybe it always was or has been for a long time living in the metro area. Recently we rode on the new expansion that goes to Federal Way. We rode the train up from the large transit center and garage there and it was nice and smooth. A bit long but so much less stress not having to drive. I have my Orca Card handy with me and it's easy on and easy off. Overall good experiences with this train system!

You can sit inside or go outside (there are benches there) and take in the view and breeze. It is usually $1-2 a trip but from now till end of 2024, it's free on Sundays. There's a public parking lot by the ferry terminal which is free for 3 hours parking. Great to make short trip to Bremerton. It's about 10 minutes ride away. There is a sheltered waiting area so you can hide from the wind and rain if needed. Note: I got sea legs after coming back from Bremerton. The water was not particularly choppy. Going was fine, but coming back was not. It took a while to feel ok. If you're prone to seasickness, the ferry may not be for you.

This location allows foot traffic, bicycles and motor vehicles. One way or round trip. Check the schedule for departure and arrival times. Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Take a break from tolls and traffic. Yes. We opted for one way from Bremerton to Seattle. Ferry departed and arrived to Seattle on time within one hour. Once you step out with your valuables and lock the vehicle, you're able to walk upstairs, enjoy the view indoors and outdoors. I had fun chillin' outside on a clear day. There were families taking photos of the scenery or groupies. We sat in the first row indoors. Some of our relatives decided to order sandwich, snacks and a beverage. There's also restrooms. If you must, use the restroom in advance before the ferry arrives at the destination to avoid rushing back to the vehicle downstairs and be mindful of others having to leave. Our route was the fast ferry where we go through Rich Pass, you'll see Port Orchard to the right and Bainbridge Island on the left, then make your way to Seattle. Smooth ride.

I've taken the bus a few times here, and it's always been an easy process. Compared to other transit centers, this one doesn't feel as populated. I've never had to wait in a line to get on the bus from here. Also, all of the posts are marked, to indicate where to wait at for a particular route/bus. It's an easy process. I just love that this transit center is downtown, with bus routes from Seattle and other Eastside suburbs. It's accessible, easy, and never busy. Plus, cars can also use the lanes that the buses use for pick-ups and whatnot.
