I was around Pasadena and wanted some nails done since I must get a filling on my claws! I walked in, and this guy that was helping one customer, the rest of their business was empty so I said " I'm lucky today" nope .. he asked first what I needed & told him what I needed then looked at me asking if I have an appointment then I'm like oh hell Nahhh! So why ask me what I need if you're going to say no !!! It makes no sense! I tell him do I need one & to my surprise, he says yea but what's weird is that a girl next to him got up ready to work and sat back down real quick when he said I needed an appointment. Like damn, there was no one inside, and I looked at their website, and everyone was booked till six, but luckily there was another one down the way & so much better service not sure what their 5 star means, but for me, it's no stars at all probably five is worse in their book read more

****Revised review since I messed up on the names for my nail techs! +5 STARS FOR MINNIE, -1 FOR MANICURIST! Let me start off by saying that I helped manage a nail salon for 7 years, so I'm VERY picky and I know good work vs bad work. I just moved to the valley and have tried salons and was very disappointed, so I looked through Yelp for salons that were further away just to find a place that I would like. I go through every review and picture and zoom in just so I can look at the cuticle work, nail shape, and polish job. I booked a classic gel manicure and an organic gel pedicure here. I specifically booked one technician for my gel manicure and a different one for my pedicure after going through all the reviews and looking at the pictures and their work. I won't name who I booked, but I was not impressed. I was sad because she had good reviews from others, but she just didn't cut it for me. She was very nice, but nice doesn't = good job. When she was done shaping and asked me if the shape was okay, I was surprised by how many of my nails were uneven. She fixed them after I pointed it out, but I was just surprised that she didn't notice how uneven they are. Then came the polishing and it was messy. Some nails did not reach the cuticle and some did, some was uneven on the cuticle, some had gel spillage, and all of them but 2 nails gapped, lifted, and chipped after 6 days. This is due to improper gel application and not covering the entire nail with top coat. She also seemed as if she was rushing when she was doing my service--I booked my pedi at 10:00 and my mani at 11:00 because I dislike getting them both done at once, but she came in at 10:30 and started me? I assume she had a client after. What I do like is that she doesn't cut a lot of cuticle and skin and doesn't use bond/primer before polishing. Many salons use bond/primer to make the gel last longer, but it's awful for your nails and your gels will last as long as your technician properly prepped your nails. She also took extra time to layer the base coat of my gel since I have a few nails that are uneven which I appreciated. Now for my gel pedicure, I specifically booked Diane but got Minnie instead and she didn't disappoint! I was very pleasantly surprised. Her nail shaping, polish, and technique is excellent. She doesn't cut cuticles excessively, cleans under and around the toenails to get the dead skin out, and even recognized that I had impacted skin in the side of my toenail and removed it instead of immediately thinking it's an ingrown nail and cutting my toenail and messing up the shape. Her polishing is nearly flawless--my gel pedi lasted a month with no lifting or chipping at all. She also doesn't use bond/primer which is awesome! I couldn't get in with Minnie since she was booked and the times she was available collided with my work schedule, so I went to a salon near my house and the tech completely wrecked my toenails!! Now they're thinned out and breaking even with gel on them and uneven because the girl tried to cut my ingrowns and completely messed up the shape of my toenails. I just booked an appointment and can't wait for her to make my feet pretty again lol. She's amazing and I highly recommend booking her!! Overall, I recommend Emblush Beaute. It's hard to find a salon that doesn't use bond/primer nowadays and has technicians that do nails the old way (using actual tools to put back cuticles, clean out dead skin, scrubbing heels with a paddle, etc) since nowadays, many new techs rely on their drills to do everything from cuticle removal to nail evening to removing skin off your heels/bottom of your foot. Also, many new techs know how to do good manicures--dip, gel, acrylics, etc. but don't know how to do good pedicures. I can do my manicures myself and prefer to, but pedicures are a little harder so I'll always pay money to get good pedicures. Invest in your feet, people! read more
