I wrote the one star Yelp review below. There's no way to respond to the business owner's reply other than by writing another review. So here goes. I did not make the reservation. My daughter made the reservation in her name. I drove up from Orange County to have a special birthday spa day with her thinking I'd be paying $150 or so. I was shocked at the prices I was charged. I am a senior person on a limited budget and my daughter is unemployed and this was way more than I could afford. To pay well over $366 (including a gratuity which, when I think about it, should have been much lower) is ludicrous. I had to choose the gratuity percentage before I even knew the price of the services! So $300 for two gel manicures and two pedicures is absolutely ridiculous - especially during these times. The manicure itself for me was fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My daughter had clear extensions put on because she was told in broken English "the color she chose would not look good on short nails" so she was manipulated into getting extensions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even with glue on nails - at least one of which was glued on incorrectly - her gel manicure shouldn't have been more than $50. They charged $110. Even a new set of acrylics would have cost less. If you have loads of money and time (2-1/2 hours!) and like being ignored and charged for every little thing that is normally part of any other service, then throw your money away here. We paid $150 to get our nails done with nail extensions, but the extensions started falling off in less than a week. Then they told us they had just realized that because the child's nails are too small, the extensions wouldn't stick. Now they're saying we need to pay an additional $70 to redo the nails with regular polish. The reason they're asking us to pay again is apparently because they need to pay their workers' wages. Within less than 10 days, 6 nail extensions have already fallen off. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I waited 25 minutes past my appointment time before being seen. During the service, my pinky cuticle was cut and is still healing, and there was no apology from the technician. The technician was also on her phone during my service and ended up cutting her own thumb with the drill, which she started bleeding. A friend booked a session here for us to get manicures/pedicures. We were under the impressions we'd be getting them done at the same time but they ended up scheduling us back to back so she had to wait for me to get mine done. Maybe they didn't have enough technicians to do us both at the same time? If it was communication issue, that's fine. But then when I got my gel manicure, she used a drill to "carve" away at my cuticles instead of soaking them and pushing them back. Apparently that's a Russian manicure. I've never gotten one, and it would be fine if but she was so ROUGH. She kept cutting my skin way too far and the corners of my cuticles are all in pain now. 6/10 of them bled because she kept putting acetone on them to stop the bleeding and they seriously BURNED. It's been two hours since my appointment and my skin feels so raw and it aches when I type. One finger is STILL bleeding on and off. At this point I'm hoping I don't get an infection. read more

REVIEW EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: I've had previous manicures, both regular gel polish and rubber base gel. They've all lasted me 4-6 weeks, this is my first experience I've had with rubber base where it chipped off. That's what my review stated. I don't appreciate your combative and passive aggressive questioning. Saying my review doesn't make sense was childish since all you wanted to do was discredit my review. Just to say "it's possible for manicures to chip after 3 weeks" Of course it's possible, never once said it wasn't. My picture was just to show that my nail itself chipped. You wouldn't be able to see over drilling with the polish still on. You can be argumentative if you'd like, I'm just stating that the manicure was painful for me. The nail tech doing my manicure apologized multiple times due to me pulling back from the drilling. My nails would get pretty hot during the process and when I couldn't handle it longer I instinctively pulled back. Frankly, I don't care if you can or can not see the damage. My review was based on my experience. If you would continue to read my review you would notice that all I mentioned was my surprised at the pedicure not being a dry pedicure. Never said anything past that and don't see the reason for your sarcastic question on scrubbing the soles of my feet. I'm not expert, this is not my field. I'm just a customer that left a review. However, I've been getting Russian manicures at a different establishment and my natural nails have endured the manicure t for over many months. My usual place was booked and I tried to go somewhere else. I intended to just never go to this place again, but my nails were so over drilled after 3 weeks my thumb nail completely chipped off. So disappointing expecting a specific level of quality service just to get some mediocre at best. Staff was very nice and I was able to make a quick appointment. I just sacrificed my nail health after months of healing other chop shops over drilling. Great thing is I get to appreciate my usual place more and have experience that my normal place is helping me restore my natural nail strength. A trip to Nail'd It London in Pasadena is a treat! The owner Michelle is caring and put so much attention to detail into her store and the vibe is so fun! The services are time consuming (mani pedi took 2 hours) but definitely worth it- the shape of my nails and the polish application are the best I've had done. It is also a bit pricey ($140 for regular pedi and gel mani) but definitely worth it in my opinion. **UPDATE- one of my nails fell off within 2 days of getting them done and Michelle was so accommodating to get me in and fix for free. I have a lot to say. I had high expectations for this place after following their page for a couple years and seeing that they opened salons in the States. Unfortunately I left pretty underwhelmed. I decided to treat myself for my birthday and got a pedicure and manicure. They're known for their Russian-style work and elegant pedicure baths with roses. There were 2 single sad rose petals in the foot bath. Two. Nothing special. However, I was pleased with the pedicure results itself. Russian style manicures and pedicures involve them cutting into the cuticle to clean them up, leaving u with perfectly neat nails. The thing is, this left my cuticles sore (from cutting skin) and the next day they were peeling. That's probably the last time I try this method. After paying so much, 4 days later, one of the nails chipped at the tip, 2 days after that another one! Gel manicure! Lastly, I was excited about the ambience and how cute it seems on Instagram but to be honest it was pretty dry in there. There was only one other girl getting her nails done, once she left it was awkwardly quiet. The chairs were nothing special, just pink and hard. It didnt feel like a luxurious experience overall and I haven't been back ever since. The glendale location might be better, but I won't go to that area. Sadly this one's not up to par. read more

Address locked in ready to enjoy your YOU time. As you circle PCC, you realize, they sent you the wrong address. You call and get attitude from the moment they pick up the phone. (Should've known then). Rush back to old town. No parking. Circle the block. Park in the yardhouse structure. Run across the street and walk in to the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a salon. Annoyed looks. Attitude. And just an overall BAD VIBE. If you want to know what I'm talking about, read the owners responses to any other bad review. Very unwelcoming, uninviting and unprofessional. Do you know what a Russian pedicure is? I wish I never found out. Apparently it's where they don't soak your feet, don't massage your legs, and don't give a damn if you're comfortable. Good times. Don't waste a date night, spa day, or your time by going here. There are plenty of options in Pasadena. With better techs, better chairs and better ownership. Unless you really want an Instagram pic. REPLY TO OWNER: what's interesting is that when a customer tells you something is wrong with your business processes you try to gaslight them. Whatever application you are using to text people the address is sending out the wrong link. Should be an easy fix but it seems like you aren't very interested in addressing issues (your pos system is another one) only getting defensive when someone tries to make you aware of it.
