While hanging out in Old Town, my friend and I decided to go get some pedicures. We called this place and they were able to see us right away. They had about six pedicure stations which all happened to be occupied on Saturday night. It wa very sanity which is of course of the utmost importance when it comes to a nail salon. The pedicure chairs don't have massages which I was looking forward to, but it was still fine. The ladies here were all really nice. My regular pedicure ended up costing me $30. read more

I first went in here in February and have been wanting to leave a review ever since! I wanted to wait to make sure that the nails were good for their full life because previous nail salons have given me a cute nail that ended up breaking within the first week. That has not been the case here! I've gotten my nails done three time and each one has been extremely cute and has lasted me at least 3 weeks before I ended up going back for another beautiful design! I got a gel x fill and love them. They took me as a walk in appointment, and Crystal was really sweet. She made sure I liked the shape, length and color checking in as she went. I noticed them clean after clients and clean the pedicure bowls after pedicures. The shop is small and it got a little warm, so I imagine with it full, it could feel a bit uncomfortable. They use Zelle or Venmo for payment to help avoid the cc transaction fee which is nice! My fill was listed as $55, but I was charged $60 even with just a solid color. I expect as much from nail salons though, and I wasn't upset and still tipped. It's also located right underneath one of my favorite breakfast spots here in Pasadena! I thought I had found my place-there is one particular manicurist that is really good and I scheduled pretty exclusively/her. Unfortunately i don't like that when certain people walk in, including myself, they aren't greeted like most others are nor are we treated the same when services are over and it's time to pay. I'm not sure if they have had an incident in the past with someone of the same race either walking out or acting an ass when they were there but I will not be made to feel unwelcome where I am spending MY money and I'm kind to the people who work there. It's always hard trying to find a new nail tech and I was driving an hour back to my home city to my nail tech for awhile, but I just couldn't do the drive anymore. After searching on Yelp I came across L Beauty and I'm so happy that I did! I've come here a handful of times now and I'm always satisfied. I've gone to multiple nail techs here and all of them are always super kind. They have an assortment of colors to choose from and have all the trending things, like cat eye for example. Their prices are decent and the add on pricing for designs or a special polish aren't ridiculous either. I'm not sure if they have a parking lot, but I usually park on the street and haven't had a problem so far. It's super easy to book online and even booking the same day has been possible for me and it's usually hard to find a place like that! Would not recommend for a gel overlay. Very bad technique and shaping. Nails and uneven and thick, shape of nails are all messed up. Hard to tell from pictures. Nails are also different lengths and the side of nails are jagged. This causes damage and breakage apart from looking bad and lifting. TIFFANY is the reason for the one star. TERRIBLE!!! My nails look unfinished because she didn't fill in the color. Unacceptable! The worst was at the end of my service. No one helped me wrap up or thank me for that matter. So I paid through Zelle, tipped through Venmo and left. It clearly showed on my app that the payments were made so I left. Again, no acknowledgement from anyone in the salon. As I'm talking to my husband, Tiffany chased after me and accused me of not paying for my service. I told her I did and she insisted I show her on my phone that the payment went through. I wouldn't post this if this was the first time but she's done this to me twice now and I feel highly offended and disrespected as a paying customer. I have to keep my fingernails short for work; many manicurists in the past have either laughed at my short nails, told me they can't do a good job with nails that short, or both. I've lived in a lot of places and am always on the lookout for the person who isn't annoyed with my short nails! I have been coming to L Beauty for about two years, maybe a little longer. Since then, I have gotten gel manicures about every three weeks with Tiffany, and for the past six months or so, I have gotten gel pedicures from Crystal. However, I have to say that I think each person who works there has done my nails at least once, and they are all excellent!! The salon is decorated nicely and always feels good, with comfortable chairs for both the manicure and pedicure stations. All the people who work there are really nice and do consistently great work in a reasonable amount of time.
