I was at the salon on June 7th for a gel builder manicure. Within four days, two of my nails…read morecracked and one broke in half. I called within a week to let them know, and I was told the repairs would be done at no charge as long as I reported it within that timeframe. I was also advised to take photos to document the date in case I couldn't come in right away. When I came in today, I was told I would be charged because I had gel builder, as if a gel builder manicure is only expected to last four days. I showed the picture and let them know what I was told, unfortunately they do not keep their word. This was very disappointing and completely inconsistent with what I was originally told. To make matters worse, after fixing the nails, the staff did not help me find a color that matched my existing nails and instead rushed me to "make a decision." The entire experience felt unprofessional and customer service was clearly not a priority. Unfortunately, this experience reminded me why I stopped coming here in the first place. It seems the focus is more on making money than on standing behind the quality of the work or taking care of customers. I left feeling disappointed.

Gloss is now a skip. Sadly, this was the end of the road for me with Gloss.

For that they put oranges in the water and have four different packets of lotions and things they put on your feet. Only feedback is the selecting of your polish color was a little discombobulated. They don't have all of the choices in one spot and they sit you down before you have a chance to pick and so picking color was a bit of a rigamarole. They need a better system for that. Overall, really nice experience and I would go back. Total cost for all of that for us was $214 plus we had to tip everyone.

I have been coming to Top Nail Beauty Spa for a little over a year now and have never been more satisfied. In the past, I went to places that seriously ruined my lashes to the point where all of my real ones either came off, fell off, or were pulled off at each eyelash extension visit. Iris is very passionate about making sure your own lashes stay strong, healthy, & clean and won't even let you leave until they look good up to her standards and yours. She is sweet, flexible, and doesn't mess around when it comes to having perfect eyelash extension. She's honest about what you can/can't have and will not try to sell you a dramatic look that will totally ruin your lashes. This HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SALON is currently run by three sisters--Paula, Angel, and Sandy. You can get expert service from any of these ladies, and they are all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. There are other manicurists in the salon who are quite good too. I have been coming here for over 25 years, and even though I recently moved to Lake Arrowhead, I drive to Altadena for all my manicures and pedicures. Their prices are very reasonable, and I always pay a little more to get extra massage time. The salon is a great place to relax; in fact, I frequently catch up on my sleep while getting my nails done! Although I don't use all their services, I hear from others that they are also skilled in doing waxing, facials, and lashes. Called to set up a same day appointment and the gentleman who answered the phone was gracious enough to fit me in. As I arrived I was attended to promptly. I sat in my spa chair and noticed the chair was broken (massage,back adjustment, foot soak) I could over see this as long as I had a decent pedi. My technician came over with already opened implements. The buffer and nail emery board had signs of previous use. I brought that to her attention and she embarrassedly changed them. Nail places should know how vital it is to have clean implements for each customer. Nail/foot fungus and any form of transmitted diseases depends on them and how sanitary they are. Shame on you. It is not enough that some of your personal assures proper cleanliness, it should be ALL your staff. read more

First time here I must say this has been the best nail salon I gone to so far. David did my pedi he was so gentle and not once was I uncomfortable he took his time and the message was great as well. Sandy did my pedi she was so nice and she was very detailed in doing my nails and not once did I feel she was in a rush she is a very pleased girl to speak with. Overall my experience was great. Helen gave the best facial that I ever had in my life. She took her time to steam and clean my face thoroughly. She extracted all the black heads. She has the hands and touch to massage on the face, neck and shoulders. You all should come and try it out, then you will experience the difference from others, then you will see what I mean !!!. They look very natural. I really like the way she does my nails with the new technique which is called "Dipping Powder". She is very good with waxing also. Quality is great, they pay attention to detail and fully cure each layer of gel polish for every nail. This review is difficult to write because I gave this salon multiple chances and truly wanted to support them as a Pasadena local, but what started as disappointment over birthday nails turned into concerns about sanitation, professionalism, pricing, and customer treatment. Please consider looking at the photos of my nails an hour after they were done. I initially overlooked things because there was one employee in particular who was very kind and I kept hoping my experience would improve. Unfortunately, after several visits, I began noticing issues that became impossible to ignore. I observed sanitation and maintenance concerns that made me uncomfortable, including openings in walls with exposed plumbing, tools appearing to be reused between clients without proper visible sanitization, and a communal nail brush in the bathroom that was later used during service. This raised hygiene concerns for me personally. My birthday appointment was the turning point. I specifically requested Serena. During removal, my nails chipped significantly and I felt the service was rushed. I requested nail strengthening treatment and a simple French tip, but the final result was thick and not what I had asked for. When I politely said I was unhappy with the outcome, the response immediately became uncomfortable. Cameras were repeatedly referenced even though I was simply discussing the result of my nails and not disputing what happened. I was told that whatever I chose next "better be right" because they did not want me returning unhappy later. The repeated references to surveillance felt unnecessary and unrelated to the issue I was trying to address. There were also concerns about pricing. The posted pricing showed removal and regular polish charges, however I was charged more than expected and left confused about the final total. The polish reportedly applied "free of charge" did not feel free when the overall bill had already increased. After payment there was little acknowledgment, no effort to resolve concerns, and the interaction felt abrupt. When my husband later tried to discuss the pricing and service concerns, the conversation escalated further. Cameras were referenced again, we were directed to contact the owner, a phone number provided was unreachable, and the situation became increasingly hostile rather than solution focused. At that point it stopped being about the money and became about customer treatment. I gave this place multiple chances because there were staff members I genuinely liked and wanted to support. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I would encourage management to focus on professionalism, sanitation transparency, customer communication, and handling feedback without escalation. For those looking in Pasadena, I would personally recommend seeking a salon with clearer pricing, stronger customer service, and a cleaner environment.

I usually go to Hailey's but forgot to make an appointment. This salon is a few doors down from…read moreHailey's and they were empty, so I decided to get a regular manicure and pedicure. I now see why they were empty. Such a rush job, both manicure and pedicure was done in under 30 minutes and if I had use one word to describe the workers atitude, it would be indifference. I liked that there is plenty of street parking here and the hot stones for the pedicure were a nice touch but like everything else, it was done hastily and over too fast. I wouldn't be coming back. $60 with tip for a regular manicure and pedicure with lack of effort and rushed work is not my cup of tea. Maybe if you want it done fast and don't care about the results, then you might be ok coming here.
