It's easy to like a business that has personality. I was greeted with a friendly smile, as I entered the salon. Going to the Heart and Soul Spa was relaxing experience. There were professionals doing hair, as well as others doing nails, while I was there. It was nice to walk into a friendly engaging atmosphere. The hair stations and manicure/pedicure stations were cleaned and sanitized, after each client. Cleanliness is definitely a priority. All protocols for COVID were being followed. My hair stylist first consulted with me about my expectations. He then proceeded to give me a great color and cut. I was very happy with the final result.  I could hear customers express their pleasure with the attention they received, as they were leaving the salon. Service: 5/5! Definitely will be coming back again, I'm so happy with my nails. They looked so beautiful even after a few weeks. Julie (owner) is so sweet, she loves plants. We watched succulent videos on YouTube on the big screen tv. I didn't catch the name of the one doing my nails, but she did an amazing job. Quality: They have a wide variety of gel polish colors! Quality is great, they pay attention to detail and fully cure each layer of gel polish for every nail. Very pleasantly surprised to have found to this place off Groupon! It's a little bit past Target to the left and wouldn't have found it other wise. Ivy was who did my nails and did an amazing job, paying attention to cubicles and no polish on the sides of my fingers. I came for a gel mani a few days ago. Thank goodness parking was easy and convenient since they are located in a shopping center. I arrived and picked a color that wasn't available, the nail tech just told me they ran out. She walked away and left me to pick another picture. I didn't like their selection as they had basic colors that we have all seen before. I just picked something else but I wish the manicurist would have been a bit more attentive and help me pick something that was similar to what I had picked but they didn't have. I've gone to places that they will help you pick a similar shade and they know the names of the polish. It's ok, I picked something anyway. Not a big deal. At the end she did a great job. The only problem I have is that when she was putting The cuticle oil instead of just placing it and leaving it she used her OWN nail to push them back after my manicure. Don't let her do that. Now it looks like I have a weeks worth of growth and I'm upset about that. I've never gone to a place where they actually push your cuticles back right after but it was too late by the time I saw I told her not to but my cuticles are all pushed back. :/ The manicure is great, again now I have cuticles pushed back and it looks like it's been a week when it hasn't been. :/ read more

My new favorite nail shop in all of Pasadena !! After finding a great Groupon for this place, I went with a friend and we had such a great experience. We came in close to closing time, and they took us with no complaints, took their time on our nails, and really gave us quality work, they stayed almost an hour after closing time to finish our nails. I asked some questions about some of their techniques which I hadn't seen before, and of course they answered all of them and were glad I was asking. I loved the owner, she clearly cares about the quality of her work, her workers, and the customers experience. My friend didn't even have the Groupon, but the owner still gave her the discount price. The prices are very reasonable, much better than a lot of places I've been to, and especially for the quality of work they did. I came in early before their listed open time and I was so glad to see they were already open and ready to go. Great prices and I went in for a gel manicure. Kim was meticulous and did a fantastic job with my nails. I even pointed out that a piece of thread got into the nail polish and she fixed it no problem. As of todays visit I was very happy to see CLEAN ALCOHOL wipe down in front of me before I sat in chair. Wipe down hand rest, head rest alcohol spritz pillow. They have gloves and masks if I wanted to wear when I didn't feel in need this place has always been clean and I feel even cleaner there's no need to panic. You should always feel free to ask do you mind wiping this down this is the age we live in if someone's insulted by it then you go elsewhere but they wouldn't be insulted here! They're asking all clients if they're sick to please postpone their appointment as well as they had any contact with anyone... Visited for the first time today, as a walk-in, and got a gel mani and a regular pedi. Everyone was very nice, the place and tools were clean, and the services were very affordable. I also liked that they had books of the available colors so you could see the color on a "nail" vs just estimating from the bottle. There was a mix of clientele - new clients like me, but also loyal customers which made me feel more confident in visiting. I've gotten more picky with my nails due to a bad experience at another salon a couple months ago (and I'm super cheap so when I choose to spend money, I want it to be a good experience), so the fact that I am satisfied with my visit today and planning to definitely come back says a lot. I'm a nail bitter and am really rough on my hands so it's nearly impossible for me to have a manicure last, never mind actually growing out my nails. But since coming here, I have been able to do so and constantly get compliments on my manicure. Ivy is one of the best nail techs around. Very patient and skilled. She even kindly pointed me in the direction of a more lovely nail color when the original one I had selected was not flattering on my skin tone, which I appreciated greatly. Her gel manicures last 2 weeks easy and probably longer if I could stand the grow out. They use quality products and I can tell the difference because I get nearly zero lift...these gels stay put! In general the salon is clean and spacious and I never have a hard time finding parking as it's located in a plaza. All the staff is kind and professional and very welcoming. This is my second visit to Heart and Soul Spa for a gel pedicure. Everyone has been extremely nice at each visit. My first visit was a five star rating for sure. This visit I did have to take off a star due to my toe being cut and the foot rest constantly moving out from under my feet which caused a calf and thigh workout to keep it from moving. Workouts are awesome, but during a pedicure you want to be able to relax and it's hard to do when your muscles are tight the whole time. I will continue to come back here. The customer service is too great to say good bye just because of two small mis-haps. Maybe next time I will do a manicure as well. read more
