Was there on Saturday 7/27 for pizza. Sat at a picnic table by the bar. And was getting crowded by a wedding party spilling on to our table. Very slow service, below average quality food and then to get hit with a $10 delivery charge for a meal when we DINED IN! Shady stuff people and enjoy the extra $10 cause we will not be back. Well, I hate to post a poor review because we've always liked it here but today was a disappointment. We were sat after a short wait which was fine but after delivering drinks, our waitress never came back. Nor did we get our food order, 3 pizzas. After 40 minutes we chased down the waitress and let her know we had no food. She had no idea we hadn't been served. Odd. When we received our pizzas, they were stone cold. My father had to have a chat with the manager and we are now waiting for new pizzas to be made. An hour and 20 minutes after walking through the door, we have hot food. The manager is very attentive but it's still left a sour taste in our mouths. Oh and I just don't think it's appropriate for a hostess to wear a teeny tank top that shows off most of her midriff. Unprofessional. On a lighter note, the new pizzas were better than the first, the manager was super great dealing with our complaints and the wine choices are fantastic. We started with the garlic bread and it had a great cheesy garlic flavor and it was perfectly backed so that it had a nice crisp but remained super soft on the inside. So yummy! The chicken pesto pizza was my favorite. It had a great white sauce, thin chicken slices, and it was perfectly balanced with the pesto flavor. The garden pizza was loaded with a lot of great veggies. It didn't have a heavy layer of cheese which made for a nice light taste. The fig and prosciutto pizza was really yummy topped with goat cheese and a nice balsamic glaze but it has a strong fig flavor, so if you don't love fig that one might not be for you. All of the pizza was thin and had a great crisp to it. We ended with the fan favorite cookie skillet. This was AMAZING. It was perfectly baked, with a hefty serving of ice cream and whipped cream. It came out It was chicken tenders with spaghetti sauce mozzarella on top of it to make a chicken Parm. My wife ordered boneless wings and what they were was chicken tenders and my daughter ordered chicken Parm sandwich and again chicken tenders with spaghetti sauce on it makes it parm I got cheeseburger came out so red told to take it off my bill a Miller draft. cost $7 a draft. Don't bother coming unless you have about 2 hours to wait for your food. We had reservations for 13 people at 6pm and our food came out around 8pm. We ordered pizza. Nothing fancy. The service was not great. We constantly needed to stop the waitress (if we even ever saw here) if we need refills on drinks or anything else since she never checked on us. We asked for water with lemon and never got it so we reminded the waitress and still never got it. At that point we gave up. Even though we made reservations a week in advance and were told they had a table for us when we arrived we were out at two small tables one that comfortably sat 4 people and one that sat 6. That means we were 13 people squished into 10 seats. When we asked for a larger table they told us they didn't have anything since they were booked. The place was insanely loud as well. You couldn't hear the person across from you talking. I would tell them you want an outside table if u want to have a conversation at dinner. We got the pizzas one at a time, like 10 minutes apart. To the point some people finished before other got their food. We could clearly see one of our pizzas sitting on the counter ready but it took 10 minutes for someone to bring it over. The cheese pizza had sauce on only 1/2 the pizza? Not sure if they were low on sauce or what. The pizza was also very dry and thin. The pizzas were also covered in corn meal which is used to prevent sticking but tastes awful. And when I say all over I mean we left wearing it since it was all over. We decided to try Ember after walking by it while staying down the Cape. We decided to get a pizza to take back to the house. The person taking our order seemed a little confused when taking our order. Keep in mind we were ordering a cheese pizza. We got charged an extra because we wanted mozzarella cheese on our pizza. Not sure what they normally would put on it lol. It took almost an hour to get our pizza after asking a few times if our pizza was ready. We finally got our pizza and it was a big disappointment. The crust fell apart when we tried to to eat it. The edge crumbled in our hands. The pizza didn't taste that great either. Very disappointed with the service and the food. I really wanted to like this place. The fire outside, live music, and an outdoor bar. What could go wrong? Unfortunately it went wrong right at the start. We had a reservation for a party of ten and got seated at a round booth with two additional chairs. We were packed in like sardines. Fortunately the table across from us finished up and we were able to slide a few people over to alleviate things. We ordered a couple of appetizers and some pizzas. The Buffalo wings were a great choice. Good sized wings with solid flavor. The pizzas were not impressive at all. The steak and cheese pizza arrived burnt with sparse toppings. The cheese pizza lacked cheese and was very bland tasting. Overall the food was nothing to write home about. Our server kept the drinks flowing but was clearly inexperienced. What she lacked in experience she made up with effort. I'm going to give this place another shot sometime soon. Hopefully it was just an off night for everyone. read more

PRICING ON MENU DID NOT MATCH PRICE CHARGED 11-6-2022 Pricing on the menu for 1/2 rack of ribs with fries was $16.99, when the bill came, charge was $20.00. Excellent waitress spoke to manager and manager would not reduce price, said that the price had gone up. The excellent waitress offered to forego her tip, which was kind but unnecessary, her service was, as mentioned, excellent. That's another five customers that you just lost, not because the price was unfair, but because it was not the published price, is that even legal? What kind of manager does not come to the table to explain, hides and send the waitress with the bad news, what kind of company overcharges, I can answer both of those questions, an unqualified manager that should be fired and a company that does not hire qualified personnel. Been here a few times and have always had a decent experience. First and foremost - the outside bar and fire pit cannot be topped; the outside ambiance is great. I had a group of 10 so I made a reservation well in advance. I actually spoke with them the afternoon of the reservation and moved the time up from 7pm to 630pm, so they were well aware we were coming. We got there right on time and they told us 5-10 mins to be seated because the table wasn't ready yet - no problem there, we got a drink at the outside bar and waited; however, the problem laid in the fact that we were seated after about 15 mins at a picnic table that had been open, and clean, the entire time. Soooo not sure why the 5-10 minute wait came into play. No one was at the table when we walked in, and it wasn't wiped off immediately before we sat down which tells me it wasn't dirty. Strike 1 The picnic table we were at wasn't near any of the portable heaters. I asked the hostess who sat us if we could bring one closer and turn it on - she said yes, but after 10 mins no one did it. I went to the host stand and asked the second hostess who also said yes. Still, no one did it. I asked our waitress and she responded "I don't know if they'll get mad about that so I'll ask". Umm, this is a questionable response. She came back and told us the two that weren't lit (and closest to us) needed more propane and they didn't have any. So that sucked but whatever. Strike 2 Shortly after this conversation a group of 3 women sat at the table closest to us, where one of the propane-less heaters was, or so we were thought because the next thing you knew the heater was on and roaring for the women. Strike 3 They had 2 separate picnic tables for us which wasn't ideal - we went there as a group of 10 and wanted to sit as a group of 10. After some awkwardness between us and the hostess, as if we should've been fine with 2 separate tables, we asked if we could move the tables together and the hostess said "do you want to move it or do you want me to?" Another odd response from a staff. She attempted to move one of the tables and it was a fail. It messed up the umbrella and then the umbrella kept falling! PSA - don't move the tables together. Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow, specifically the drinks. The restaurant itself wasn't overcrowded and sure, they could have been short staffed like the rest of the world is but I'll tell you, no one was running around like they were short staffed. As for food - pizza was decent, but flaccid, and all the toppings including the cheese fell right off - and no, the pizza wasn't too hot causing the cheese to fall off. Calamari is corn batter so just beware of that. Buffalo cauliflower came with the Buffalo sauce on the side which is odd. After this will I go back? Highly unlikely. read more

Been a big fan of Ember since it opened. It's open year round which is great when we are down in the winter. They only have beer and wine in the off season though. We always get the chicken pesto pizza. This time we got the garden veggie and fig & prosciutto. The garden veggie is pretty light and a healthier option. Not a fan of the fig & prosciutto because there was too much fig. The cookie skillet is an absolute must if you're getting dessert. It is amazing!!!! read more

Ordered a pizza by phone from Ember months ago. Picked it up and found it to be cold. OK, maybe my fault on timing. So, this time, last night, I walked in and ordered. It was a quiet rainy night, maybe 10 cars in the lot. Bar is less than 1/2 full. 3 teenaged girls working the host desk and a guy sitting on a bar stool ? manager/bouncer behind them. How long I asked ? 20 minutes. So I went a had a beer and told bartender I was waiting on a pie. These a thin crust coal fired pizzas. Unless the place is rockin with customers, its not 20 minutes. I cooked regular crust pizza at a restaurant and I know a bit about the process. The pie came out and as I walked to my car with my hand on the underside of the box, its cold. Opened the box and touched the pie, barely warm. Went back in and the guy goes into the kitchen with the pie. Returns 3 minutes later telling me " Ir's piping hot ". More like hot b.s. Still lukewarm. $26.00 for a large cold pizza. Stay far away . read more

Two misses, NO KIDS MENU makes this place very expensive if you have young ones and they only have online menus that don't work very well. Overall very nice, but kinda pricey. read more

We wanted to like this place so badly - from outside, it looks so great with a huge firepit and outdoor bar area. The reality is, terrible service, mediocre food, and incredulously incompetent staff. We came in 2021 and had a terrible experience - got seated and didn't see a server for 50 minutes and had to beg for plain tortilla chips for our kids when they started to tell everyone they were understaffed. We stayed away for a while and tried again tonight. We had high hopes as the place looked half empty when we arrived. We put our name down and were told 30 min wait. We waited outside and then came in after 40 mins. We saw about 6-8 tables completely empty and not cleared. Lots of seemingly inexperienced staff standing around. Only one name had been crossed off the waitlist since we arrived. I was told they were understaffed - three years apart and both attempts to eat here were disturbingly similar. We eventually threw our hands up and left, and went to George's where we had a far better experience. If only Embers worked as well as it looks from outside. I would have given 1 star here, but as a former food worker, I'm giving the extra star purely for the waitstaff who were clearly hustling and going above and beyond to provide the best service they could. Sat at a table with no plates, no silverware, nothing for 45 min until a sever out of guilt came by and asked if we actually got seated by the hostess (she took us under her wing and did the best she could considering). Missed orders, Late food, it became almost an interesting, teachable moment for my teens about expectations and quality assurance. I get the prices, and I'm fortunate enough to not be overly concerned with them- but to have absolutely no respect for your customer's time or dining experience is just bad business, plain and simple. Food was average and extremely over priced. Our waiter claimed that they were out of things as they were being served to other tables after ours. Also, they added a delivery fee to checks, even though we ate in the restaurant. When asked, our server said that the fee was "a credit card processing fee" before even knowing our payment method of choice was. We told our waiter, Jack, in advance that we were going to be splitting checks, but he could not manage to remember who ordered what items and what checks to add them to. To top it off they ran out of plates, silverware, and various other items well before they closed. While waiting for our checks, for 20 minutes, we commiserated with nearby tables who had equally bad service if not worse. This place is chaos. Looks nice from the road, which probably pulls in a ton of customers. Inside, though, the place is crowded beyond the ability of the staff to manage it smoothly. Your going to wait a while to get your order. Your server will be hard-pressed to give you his/her attention. It's a mess. As for the food, I've never tasted coal-fired pizza that came out so devoid of flavor. Very average pizza quality. A waste of a coal-fired oven, really. Only redeeming thing about this place is the outdoor fire pit. Best strategy is probably to arrive for a drink outdoors -- and then head elsewhere for your meal. read more

We love Ember! I think they have great salads and apps, while my husband loves the pizza. I enjoy dining inside or out at this restaurant, both spaces are inviting and comfortable. The food is consistently satisfying, but the servers can be hit or miss. Most of them are great, but some seem really frazzled and I'm surprised their manager doesn't pick up on the negative energy. It doesn't necessarily impact the food part of the dining experience, but I'm definitely not going to stick around to order more drinks or a dessert when ending up with one of the cranky servers... so the business misses out on extra income and the server on a bigger tip ‍. Try the bruschetta for the table, it's so delicious with the walnut pesto. I also love the Greek salad, mushroom pizza, and other apps. I've tried to order the fish tacos half a dozen times and the servers always say they're out of it, I finally asked one of them what was going on with that and they told me that they don't even have it and just need to take it off the menu. Trash... absolute trash... chose this place because it was the only place with Buffalo wings near us. Once we got home, no Buffalo wings in the bag and got nasty looking garlic bread instead. Also got Parmesan garlic tenders... smelt like they were days old. Pizzas looked like the chef took it out of the oven and shat on it. Basically tomato sauce on cardboard. I'd rather eat a boars ass instead of the equivalent "food" they are serving. Pictures on the website look NOTHING like what you get in real life. Let's start with the positive: great location, nice outdoor area, friendly staff, good beer. Other than that, it might literally be the worst meal we have ever had. My husband ordered Buffalo wings and he could barely eat them. I thought it was pretty hard to mess up Buffalo wings but they were so bad he couldn't finish them. Yelp is pretty harsh on this place. The service was pretty strange--we showed up for lunch a little after noon and the entire wait staff was standing at the door looking very bored. We almost turned around but decided just to stick it out. We were seated outside which looked like a great place to come to in the evening as there is a nice outdoor bar, live music on Wed/Sat and a gorgeous fire pit. I was very excited to learn that they had Lawson's Sip of Sunshine on tap and I ordered one of them---to die for as always. We shared a Hawaiian pizza and some of the garlic buffalo wings. The food was meh. THIN THIN crust--basically like a tortilla. The sauce on the wings was also oddly neon-ish. I can't believe the low rating that I am seeing here. My family LOVES ember! And the place is always hopping. What is there not to like? Such yummy cheeses pizzas, crisp calamari, bread breadsticks, a patio area with a fire pit and live music. We have been going for years and it's only gotten better. I love the white and shrimp pizzas. Salads and apps are good and there are a wide variety of generous portion entries. The bar outside is new and a great spot to hang by the live music (until 10pm) if you can manage to get a seat. Same goes for the fire pit area. Service at ember is great too, but can definitely be a long wait. 5 star rating mainly to bring this average up - but would for sure say 4 to 4.5 stars. read more

This was one of the worst dining-in experiences. It started off bad/weird when the host asked an elderly couple to move and practically yelled, saying 'well, I'm busy tonight'. This poor couple got booted out of their nice table with chairs by fire pit, to a picnic table that the elderly man on a cane could barely sit down at. The food then took 90 minutes to arrive and when the pizza arrived, the table, which was never cleared from appetizers, was so cluttered, my son went for a slice and the entire pie flew off the pan onto my lap. (good thing my dress was black!). But the worst part-- besides witnessing someone being mean towards elderly customers, which was the worst- was the spinach artichoke dip. I've never had one I didn't like. But this one was inedible to me -- like the chef poured half a bottle of vinegar in it. The chips were stale tasting and tasted of rancid oil. Sure it's a nice outdoor area, but if you like good food and kind service, stay away. read more

They really take advantage of "the only game in town" status. This place is horrible. The food is average at best. The staff, tries very hard and it's obvious they are overwhelmed and completely mismanaged. The kitchen is run so poorly that three of the 4 of us received our meals and when we asked about the 4th (ribs) we were told that everyone was waiting for ribs and she had no idea what was happening in the kitchen! The kicker was that after we all finished our meals, the ribs came out with an appetizer we thought they had forgotten about! If you're hurting for a place on the Cape to eat and love to wait two hours for mediocrity then this is your place! read more

What happened? This place used to be good. It's a sorry mess. Started with our server telling us that odds are our food would come out at different times because it's summer but "I can leave it under a heat lamp if you want to eat together" Pizza was the worst I've had in years. It was cold - under cooked and no taste. We ordered a "steak bomb" pizza and it came out with green and brown shredded mystery meat that was not anything I've seen before. We assumed it was shredded artichoke but the server told us the green meat was due to spices they use. Then I was told to leave because the picnic table was reserved and it was time to go...no worries I'll never go back. Microwaved pizza from 7-Eleven is a better meal! This restaurant has made a dramatic drop in service and food. I won't be going there again. Their latest trick is to charge you a "delivery " fee even when you eat in the restaurant. That explain it away as a credit card fee. If so, then tell your customers upfront and print it on the bill that way. It used to be a family favorite. I've been coming here for years, but all good (or "decent") things come to an end. Pizza has been consistently good, wings decent, but salads drenched in too much dressing. Service has been decent, but inconsistent depending on who you get. Value, especially for a "pizza and wing" joint, has been the weak point. What has KILLED them going forward for me is the new (unless I missed it previously, which could be as I don't usually look too closely) 4% credit card fee. I realize some restaurants are starting to do it, but they will lose business as a result. I'm a finance guy, and no legit credit card has a 4% processing fee, except Amex which can be close. My business pays less than 3%. Yet tonight I had a $40 gift card offsetting almost half of my (high) bill for 2 pizzas, 1 salad and 2 beers. Yet they still hit me the full 4%, despite my credit card only being used for only half the bill. So effectively an 8% credit card surcharge. There are too many other options on the cape. Ember is now dead to me unless new management takes over, or they smarten up. read more
