People need to know the information regarding COVID-19 safety measures on this page are INCORRECT as of March 5th. I picked up a to go order and was shocked to see no masks being worn by any wait staff or kitchen staff in the business. There was a hand sanitizer station with a note describing how your safety is your responsibility & it's your freedom to choose. Another one of the hidden gems. Make the drive out to Wears Valley. It will be well worth it to eat at Elvira's. Very friendly staff and great food. We had our dog with us also, and they welcomed her as well. Even providing us a large tub of water for her. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the countryside view. My wife and I, both had the "Grown Up Grilled Cheese" lunch. It was very good. This was our first time eating here, but this stop will now become one of our "must go to", on our trips to the Smokys. You know a truly home town place that's all about good food and family when they wish you a happy new year and then close up shop unil March! I love the kinda vibe. This is our first trip back into the Wears Valley valley. Nice back here with lots of arts crafts and history. We passed Elvira's earlier in the week and decided to stop in for brunch. Glad we did otherwise would have to wait til March for this kind of great food and warm hospitality. Kitchens right up front so you can see it all put together. Nice. Girls had the cinnamon roll each. My wife had the fried green tomatoe BLT. Jacks had the Ruben and I customized the country ham plate adding hashbown potatoes. Yummy. The grounds and interior are beautiful and you feel like you walked into a hallmark set. The service was super charming and speedy. I didn't give it as many stars because the food wasn't my favorite. Hidden gem. Beautiful and pretty quite location. Almost half an hour from pigeon forge. Indoor and outdoor options available. Of course we chose outdoor seating. Seating areas are quite spacious. Pleasant ambience. Good food. We were their for lunch time so tried Rueben and Chicken Salad sandwiches. Both were good. We got fries and salad as side dish. Fries were fresh and crispy. Salad was okay. We had better salad in past few days within Pigeon forge/Gatlinburg area. For desert we tried homemade coconut pie. It was really nice. Would love to visit again. read more

Another better option than driving into Pigeon Forge if you are staying in this area! It's busy but they serve a decent meal. My kids had the crepes and loved them. I had the fried green tomato BLT and it was fine but there were other options I'd try if I were to go back. The chicken club was good according to my husband. They were out of chips as we stopped closer to the end of their day but plenty of other side options to choose from. There is outside seating and even a couple of picnic tables in an expansive yard if you want to stop and plan out the rest of your day while you have some wifi to do it with! read more

Vacation in the smokies is always fun! We mostly love all of the great nature settings and the wild life. The one thing that usually comes up short for us while in the region is the food. We do not drink alcohol so the bar/restaurants have not appeal to us. This rules out your sports bar type eateries too. Plenty of good breakfast options in the area but we have failed (until now) to find a nice family friendly, moderately priced stop. My wife just pulled in and said "Let's try Elviras"! Not a long wait at all especially considering it was 4th of July weekend. Checking out what a lot of folks were ordering and the Chicken and Waffles seemed to be going well, especially with the fried potatoes as the side. So, that is exactly what we both ordered and combined with Sweet Teas! Nothing say's dinner in the south like this combo! It was a great choice! I put a little hot sauce on my chicken and then poured on the maple syrup! It was yummo! Go ahead and order a second helping of the potatoes. You will be glad you did! We both agreed it was a good value for the $. Staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and we will come back on our next trip to Wears Valley! read more

If you're in the Wears Valley area this is a great spot to eat. They do have limited hours so check before you go. We got there about 11:30, we waited about 10 minutes for a table. I had the ribeye wrap and she had the cheeseburger. Everything was fresh and hot. Service was excellent. When the checkout lady saw my USAA card she asked if I had been military and gave me a discount. Wasn't expecting it, didn't ask for it. But it was a nice touch. We have visited the area multiple times but had never tried Elvira's until today. Since it was a Sunday and two hours before closing, it was very busy but we were still seated in less than 30 minutes. It was a very cold day so the propane heaters outside on the porch were great while we were waiting on our table. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was "on it". Get their waffles. They put some sort of pearl sugar in it that makes it delicious and crunchy. Highly recommend. And I don't usually eat waffles but I couldn't resist. Most Delicious Start of the Day! We walked up to Elviras & it looked PACKED. But, once in the door, they seated us right away! I had a light breakfast: 2 Sausage Patties (best by far on this trip!) cheese grits (very good!) and baked apples (they beat Cracker Barrel & that is saying a lot!). Stopped here on our way to Tuckaleechee caverns and we were pleasantly surprised. I consider myself to be a bit of a food snob and everything we had was all delicious! I had the feta and spinach crepe. The veggies were fresh and the crepe was the perfect compliment to the eggs and feta. My super picky 7-yo loved her s'more crepe. My husband said his waffle was the best he has ever had. You can tell all of the food is homemade and fresh. The restaurant was clean, cute and the staff very friendly! We had a horrible experience interacting with the inconsiderately obnoxious owner. This place is not Farm fresh as it claims. Mostly everything we bought was purchased from a food service. The waitress was attentive and nice. I asked prior to ordering how many pieces of cod were in the meal. She replied 3-4. When I received the meal, it had only 2 small quarter pieces of fish. The portion was very small for the $15.99 price. The coleslaw was loaded with Mayo juice. The meal came out without the potatoes I ordered. I finished most of my fish prior to the potatoes arriving. My wife ordered waffles and chicken. The two waffles were nice. However the portion of chicken was kid sized. She received two chicken tenders and one small nugget. The chicken was Service purchased and not filets cut by hand which is what I expect for the $14.99 price. Her meal was cold when it arrived. The potato n' onions arrived late with mine. The waffles looked to be the best part of the meal. Overall, the food tasted ok but had very small portions that was served cold, definitely not Farm fresh. Nothing appeared to be homemade. Even the kids meals hamburgers were made from a 80/20 ground frozen patties. The fries tasted better than the burger. I spent $47.84 for 2 adult and 2 ($8) kid meals. The topper to it all was it taking 35 minutes to receive our order. We even received it after other guests who come in after we ordered. The indoor decor is minimal at best if you like to sit on metal picnic tables for dinner. I am not sure why this cafe is four plus stars. The reason for the very low rating is due to the poor etiquette of the owner. The waitress realized she made a mistake with me and stated she would go get an adjustment after we mentioned what happened. The obnoxious owner comes over and gives me excuses about the waitress mixing up the catfish pieces with the cod. Ok I understand, however she didn't even try to adjust the bill even after I mentioned the cold meals as well as small portions and receiving our meal after other guests who arrived after us. She stated no one else complained. It was as if we were the only ones who ever voiced a legitimate concern to her. As she was leaving, I asked about the bill which was still in her hands. After asking, she threw the bill on the table and stated here's your bill. She also quipped go somewhere else if you don't like it. The owner never attempted to do anything to make the situation right. How bout a fresh hot meal for our problems? Our discussion continued as she stated my wife was rude to every customer in order to protect her businesses image. The owner and I had an ensuing 5 minute discussion up front by the register about how inconsiderately obnoxious and arrogant the owner was. She was about giving excuses instead of solving issues. Definitely not a way to run a business. This business only survives since it's in an area with few other restaurants and borders a very popular National Park. Most positive reviews seem to be from their breakfast. I'd go hungry or go down to Subway to eat prior to spending any money here. I rarely give reviews with this low rating as you can see from my many other reviews. I realize not everything is perfect in life. However, Owners shouldn't be obnoxiously rude to their guests. They should allow guests to bring up concerns and not make them become confrontational and belittle them in the process. You definitely won't find southern charm from the owner if you bring legitimate issues up to her. If I could review this business with Zero stars I would. Stayed nearby for a seven day vacation and ate here twice for breakfast. We made it our parting meal the morning we left for home. We were a party of 8 and each time our service and food were spectacular. The hot cakes are perfect! I think the secret is the amazing butter they serve on top. I can't say enough about the quality of our meals and the speed of service. If I could add a 6th star I would. Get the hot cakes! read more

We drove WAY out pf our way to get here and are we glad we did!! Not only was the food EXCEPTIONAL, our hostess/The owner isnt afraid to let you know how much she appreciates the opportunities she has been given since she immigrated to America. She escaped the "socialist" Russia, where she had to stand in line for shampoo and toilet paper and other necessities, with her little brother when she was 12 years old. Elvira's was a good spot on our way to Townsend from Pigeon Forge. This farm house, country/french style mix had an excellent menu selection. I had the grown up gilled cheese, wife had a new chicken sandwich that's not on the menu which had brie cheese, and the kids had a burger and chicken and waffles. All the food was fresh and hot when it arrived. The service was very good, our server was very attentive, kept drinks full, and checked periodically for any needs however, was not distracting as some servers can be. The ambiance was exactly that of a farm house restaurant. A little noisy with doors opening and closing, footsteps across hardwood, dishes clinking in the open kitchen but it wasn't so distracting that the experience wasn't enjoyable. We live about 45 minutes from this location and if we are back in the area I would definitely stop back in although I'm not sure that I would make a special trip. read more

I don't get the hype, or maybe we just went on an off day? My kids and I stopped in for breakfast after reading all the good reviews. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes which looked almost burnt, and my son and I had French toast that was advertised as Italian bread, but looked like regular old white bread to me. My son said his eggs tasted weird, and I thought he was just being picky, but I tried them and they indeed did taste weird. Mine were okay though and the FT was pretty good, just not great. And our waitress seemed very over working there. Food took a long time to arrive too, but it does state that 'good food takes time'... Not a bad dining experience, but definitely not a great one. read more
