Great show. I went to see DJ Thimo Supremo what an amazing DJ! I was completely vibing out . The lights and scenery complimented the music so well. Let me tell you when I RSVP and got there I got treated like royalty. It's such a dope space. The folks were nice and the bartender was great. The space is huge, the main room where bonobo was playing a beautiful room. The second largest room where I spent most of my time was a room big enough for like 200+ people which I loved. Then the smallest room looked like it could fit 75 people was a nice red spacey kinda feeling room. This venue is all over the place, but it's big, adventurous and fun. I'd definitely recommend this place as a date if you really wanna impress someone! read more

This is my favorite club in the entire world. I first came to Elsewhere for their rooftop parties, then I got to experience the inside. The name of the venue makes sense. The main room is so big and spacious with plenty of room to dance. My friend and I decided to check the rest of the place out. We ended up in a room with some random DJ and like ten other people LOL. Great venue-very small, intimate, yet not packed to the brim uncomfortable. I still had space around me to move and dance. There's also a rooftop and some other areas to hang out and lounge while waiting the bands. I don't know if it was an isolated night, but the sound quality was bad. "The Loft" is a bar and café space that is set back from the street, secreted away on the second floor of "Elsewhere," a hot new independent music venue. I live nearby and heard about this new spot from a friend of a friend, so I came through with a bunch of friends and had a helluva time. I went after work to grab some low-key drinks with friends and ended up staying the whole night. We got there walking about 3 minutes from the Jefferson L stop, and going up a wide flight of stairs on the left of the building. The music was on point, the bartenders were super friendly and quick, and the drinks were reasonably priced and stiff (just how I like em). A few drinks in I was getting a bit hungry and noticed they had a $5 grilled cheese on the menu--ended up ordering two. They were crisp, gooey and simple, just like my momma made em, and came with chips and a pickle. Totally hit the spot. The vibe inside the Loft is not quite like anything else I've seen before. It has great wooden tables and chairs, a few booths with banquette seating, striped tile floors, some red walls, some unfinished walls, dangling plants, mirrors, a disco ball, all-gender bathrooms, and a "skybridge" that functions as an art gallery. The windows look out onto a large courtyard. Being there feels like you're in a snazzy hidden clubhouse. The wide flight of stairs leading up to the Loft basically doubles as a covered porch for the place, so throughout the night folks would go outside to enjoy the night air between drinks. There's even a view of the NYC skyline from the top of the stairs! We basically bounced around between the booths, the stairway, and the bar, slurping our drinks and making merry. The Loft is set up so people can easily go back and forth between the Loft and Elsewhere's performance spaces, but there wasn't a show going on when I was there. Will def be coming back for more after-work and pre-show drinkin and chillin. AND I learned from the bartender that the Loft opens at noon and serves coffee throughout the day, with wifi and plugs and all that, so I'll definitely be coming back to check out that scene and get me another grilled cheese. read more

Obviously there is a great dancefloor/music scene but there's also a slightly quieter bar/lounge area when you need a break, and a huge rooftop with another bar and amazing views. Refreshingly un-douchey for a rooftop scene. Not sure why all the bad reviews about the staff. Bartenders were generally quick considering the crowd compared to other places, ticket guy was friendly and helpful. Total line/ticket experience was under 5 minutes. Required coat check is normal (do you want to be crowded off the dancefloor by people in wet winter coats? No. Of course not.) Drink prices are on par with other Brooklyn venues. But the underdog here is the grilled cheese. Not sure how they do it, but twice I've ordered perfectly toasted grilled cheeses at like 1am and they are magic. read more

The different spaces make for a fun mix of energies and dance styles but it didn't feel worth the price. We got there around 11 and the space didn't really fill up til midnight, lots of dancing in the loft but people mostly stood watching performers in the other rooms. Was a little annoyed that our pre-midnight tickets were listed as $35 face value, but when we bought them in person, we were charged $47...kinda rough that fees bump up the price that much. read more

Charming music venue in East Williamsburg that often hosts indie pop artists. I went to see XYLO, and unfortunately their rooftop was closed due to the weather. The main room is surprisingly spacious, though - you wouldn't have guessed from looking at it from the outside! Very grateful that parking is so easy in this area, we found a spot right out front. You can trust the bar to have a good selection of craft beers, but don't bother with mixed drinks - they barely pour any liquor in. Plenty of stalls in the women's bathroom, so there was never a wait even in between opening sets. Would definitely come back for other upcoming shows! read more

Frankly, I think this venue is perfect. In my option it's well thought out and keeps everyone in mind, especially women which is refreshing. I always have fun here no matter who I'm seeing. For starters the staff is GREAT, they streamlined the whole entrance process so it's efficient and comprehensive. With all the entrance staff being so welcoming it was a breeze getting in, and took mere minutes. Inside, the bartenders are incredibly fast and attentive. The barbacks are on it too, and keep the place from being a sticky mess like most venues in the city; they go around periodically cleaning, which makes a noticeable difference. They have a coat check for $4, food trucks outside, and multiple choices of music in different rooms that are fun to explore and visually pleasing. In addition there are multiple scattered sitting locations. There are multiple bathrooms and the lines are all unisex so they move along MUCH faster. 10/10 on that one! It is never too cold in there and there are multiple location to go out and get some fresh air. Truly great venue, love coming back time and time again! read more

Saw HEALTH play at Elsewhere, sound and lights were great. Spacious venue with a long bar in the back and a merch zone next to it. No seating here, it's a concert venue, after all. No snacks at the bar, but you can head upstairs to the separate bar for drinks or a grilled cheese (or CBD soda). The setup for entering the venue was disorganized but okay. Id they serve alcohol the night you're going, make sure to bring your ID, they check everyone! read more

The reviews are right: this venue sucks any enjoyment out of a show. Stupid unaccommodating rules, and crazy unfriendly staff. Nothing in particular happened to leave me angry, just overall mean service: We saw the 'No reentry' sign after we were paid and stamped. The staff "made an exception " since we asked right away, but told us -- with big scowls all around -- "next time, you should come when you're ready to stay." Later, after a forced bag check, the coat check person yelled at us angrily for no reason, "Don't lose the ticket!!!" After the show, we waited in a cramped, unorganized line with at least 50 other concert goers while the single cost checker looked for bags in the dark. If you're going to be @$$holes, you could at least be organized. I disliked this venue so much, I'll travel out of town next time my fav artists are on tour. read more

It's not my favorite venue ever, but there's really nothing better in this size/capacity bracket. Sound is pretty good, layout is spacious, and there are several areas to sit down comfortably when you need to take a break. The upstairs bar area and outdoor smoking zone are both much more inviting than most other venues' equivalent chill zones. The vibe is a little off for techno nights in my opinion, but overall Elsewhere does a nice job of straddling that difficult line between nightclub and rock venue. It definitely beats The Good Room. Also, it's in a funny corner of Morgantown/Jefftown where you can watch college kids get lost and cry when they step outside and lose their friends. Great fun! read more

The drink prices at Elsewhere are out of control. I ordered a canned cider and a canned beer and it came to $23. That literally makes no sense. I came here for a show last Saturday and was pretty annoyed by the staff. They didn't seem to be on the same page, so when one person directed me to go somewhere the other would be yelling at me telling me I was going the wrong way. Like one lady told me to go to the ATM and some employee apparently didn't know it was there and was wondering why I was cutting the line...?? (The ATM is also not really within sight, if people are waiting in line you're probably not gonna see it.) It was my first time at the venue. It has multiple rooms and I had no idea what room the show would be in. Once I left the coat-check area, I was in a large room with a DJ and a bouncer-type guy at the door. I asked him if we were currently in "The Hall" and he said that he didn't know. I remembered seeing a map of the place by the coat check and asked him if I could get it so I could verify where I was. He said that I couldn't leave the room unless I was exiting for good. Needless to say, he was an idiot. I don't know. Elsewhere is elsewhere all right. Somewhere else I'd rather not be. read more

Pros: Crowd, security, staff were fine. They post set times which is cool. Beer prices are high but standard for a concert venue. Cons: Went to a show in the big hall and one in the smaller space and both were good but both had sound issues. Vocals (windhand) cut out for an entire song, etc. Not super into the bathrooms. Its fine they're gender neutral I don't like how dark they are. Elsewhere is in a somewhat secluded neighborhood so a lot of people use uber or lyft to leave when the show ends resulting in a huge pileup, confusion and chaos. read more

I've been hearing about Elsewhere as a great show venue for a while now, and finally got a chance to check it out recently to see Sun Ra. Though the house was packed, there wasn't a line when we arrived so I didn't experience any of the crowded madness that other people have described in their reviews. In fact, my whole experience was smooth and I really loved this unique spot. There are tons of halls and nooks and crannies to explore, so make sure you take time to walk around. There's a large stage (where Sun Ra played, going on right on time), as well as a smaller stage where we checked out an amazing soul/R&B DJ who had everyone dancing. I believe there was a full-on dance off on the stage later in the night, but I left before then. I absolutely loved how mixed the crowd seemed. From people in mod 60s dresses and suits (in the R&B room) to very young, Bushwick-y types and everything in between. All ages, colors, and dance skill levels - it was so fun to see! I was also impressed to see that there was a little tucked away bar area (I think this was called The Loft), where you could get food and actually sit and have a conversation in some old school diner booths. It was such a different vibe from room to room, which made the night exciting! I'll definitely be back for shows or just to check out that retro DJ again, and will be telling all my friends about it - we need to support NY spots like this! read more

I love this place. Definitely a staple for me and my friends whenever we want to see a favorite band play or check out new music. They never fail to curate a great lineup. Also a nice area to chill on weekends and grab a drink. Friendly bartenders and a helpful staff. The vibe is laid back or dancey, depending on who is playing. Zone One is perfect for intimate shows. Main Hall is great to jam out with all that space; they got The Voidz to play there more than a couple times which was sick. The rooftop is also worth checking out. All kinds of sounds are offered including rock, indie pop, electronic, r&b, dance, experimental and anything else I may have missed. Location is convenient, smack in the heart of bushwick, walking distance to the train line. Hip and warm community. Like my second home. read more

I'm a fan! This venue has multiple stages suitable for bands and DJs. The space is neither too big nor too small, and it was very comfortable to catch some shows there. For little people like me, there is a platform area (in the back of the "Hall" space) where we can readily see the stage. The both times I was there I had no problem getting in and the staff was efficient. The drinks are on the pricier side (e.g. we had two canned IPAs for $24) but that doesn't bother me too much. Their lineup often looks promising, so I'll be back, most likely, very soon. read more

STELLAR venue to see Nitzer Ebb and other legendary bands. HATE the unisex bathroom in the concert area because it lacks a mirror and us ladies must do our hair and makeup. LOVE the shrimp taco cart outside! The BEST tacos I've had outside of Puerto Rico or Mexico EVER. Close to the L train, if the L train is WORKING! When/if you get off the train, the *neighborhood* looks SKETCHY AS H€LL! As long as you beeline it to the warehousey club, you should survive. Not sure if this place has any chairs, so maybe come here only if you do t want to sit? Large space with many, cool areas filled with happy, nice people. read more

Elsewhere is more or less the only place I'll go to shows in NYC. Their 'big' room (the Hall) is just the right size, you can see all the way in the back (I'm not the tallest guy and have no problems), it never feels crowded, and the sound just keeps getting better every time I go back. The roof is lovely in good weather, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and you can just generally tell they're working their asses off at all times to be an inclusive, independent home for a bunch of different communities all at once. Excellent music venue with a diverse lineup of the best in all niche genres. The walk through of the gender neutral bathrooms to get to the bar is one of my favorite aspect of this space. Intimate music venue with a fast, efficient bar and friendly staff. Drinks are STRONG, thank you. Upstairs, there is a larger bar and lounge area that is chill and appealing. Slick, neo-noir lighting and design set a very 2018 Bushwick tone. They post set times, post signs that no marginalized groups will be harassed while in their venue (why aren't these everywhere?), you can see the stage no matter where you are standing, and the sound is great. This is how it should be done. Plus, you can eat at Mission Chinese right next door and pretend you're in Blade Runner. read more

I will start by saying that this review is not for the venue as a whole, but for their crowd management set up of getting people in. I went to a show there last night, and the to get in was insane - ticket holders and non ticket holders waiting together... and it was like 30 degrees out. They were letting those who were on a guest list bypass the entire line -why?! If I've bought a ticket 2 months in advance, why am I waiting in the same line with people who don't have tickets at all? And why was there only one person checking the bags and making his entire process so slow that I had to wait 40 min out in the freezing cold?! Please hire more security and get everyone in faster, and consider having to let holders be on a separate lane. I want to update this review as I had another event at the same venue and the crowd control was handled way, way better. read more

I don't take writing a bad review lightly, but damn was this a bad experience. The performers we're great. No complaints. The bartender, though, was truly awful. I started the night by opening a tab and getting a $7 beer. Later, one of my friends who was performing gave me a drink ticket. I went back to the bar to get another beer and handed over the drink ticket. The bartender proceeded to stare at me for a very. long. time. It was so weird I had two other people come up to me after to tell me how weird that was. Finally, after a really awkward 20 seconds, she rudely said, "this doesn't cover the tip." Btch I know, I've been to a bar before. I told her I had a tab open and would tip on that. At the end of the night, I go to close out my tab (and yes, tip her because I'm not a dck), and she looks up from her phone long enough to hand me a bottle of water and a receipt for $10. Because I only got one $7 drink, I say, "Oh, is there a card minimum?" (which she should have told me WHEN I OPENED THE TAB). She says, "Yeah that's why I gave you the bottle of water." Um, no, that's not how you do that. You ask if I want another actual drink instead of a $3 water I didn't ask for. You can tell they tried to make it a nice venue but the security staff is very unprofessional. They try to find excuses to force you to bribe them so if you're not one or those who's playing these games then this may not be the place for you. We were a group of like 25 people who came to support our friend DJ. Tickets were free before 12 but we paid anyway to show support and security still managed to ruin everyone's night. Even the DJ came out and stood in the cold to try and talk to them but they were just very disrespectful and arrogant. We didn't want to make drama, use connections, or ruin the night for more people so we just left and not planning on ever coming back. It's really a shame to see everyone's investment goes down the drain because of some security staff's greed. read more

Came here opening weekend to see Classixx and Poolside. The venue feels very new and clean as it should. Everyone was really friendly which is not something you usually expect for a concert venue. Everyone from coat check to security was nice and accommodating. There are multiple rooms in this venue including an upstairs bar/cafe that we didn't get to check out. We spent most of our time in the main room which while empty when we got there around 11:30, quickly filled up when poolside started performing. The bar was well staffed with bartenders and drinks could be gotten in a reasonable amount of time. Prices were not outrageous, especially for a concert venue. A 12 oz can of beer was $6 and a well drink was $8. It was well air conditioned and I never really felt hot while dancing. Behind the DJ booth the decor consisted of various geometric shapes with different neon colors. Overall, this is a great venue, at least for the time being. It's already really popular and I can't wait to come back to see another show. Would definitely want to check out the separate upstairs bar to hang before a show. read more

I'm disappointed in this place on my first visit. So first off...a bouncer accused us of smoking weed, when in fact what I had in my hand was an organic vitamin C Lolipop. Then we traveled upstairs to order a $9.00 grilled cheese Sandwich....Big Mistake! The bartender had the audacity to demand a tip for the person making the Grill cheese sandwich, after ordering in seconds. She was so rude and obnoxious. Never ever will we attend this place again. Please be advised that management tried their best to rectify this situation with 2 drink tickets, but we were just over it with too many inconveniences on a night when we were supposed to be celebrating. read more
