Patio is gorgeous. Not sure why it's not dog friendly? There's plenty of room for well behaved dogs but our waitress told us it's not dog friendly. Bummer. Beer is awful. We tried 4 different drafts and they all had issues with fermentation and off-flavors. If you want good beer, I'd recommend MORE Brewing over in Villa Park instead. Food was pretty good but we only tried appetizers. Again, I'd probably just go to MORE for the food...but....MORE does not have this nice of a patio. A very beautiful outdoor area. Go for the ambience. Maybe order a cocktail. read more

Wanted to like this so bad. Put simply, the beer is uninspired. We tried a wide range of pours and were left cold. The NE-style IPA didn't have any New England in it; the imperial stout tasted like a Guinness, the spiced porter lacked heat. No guest taps in sight either so if you're not enamored with their brews, you don't have any other options. Food was OK, atmosphere was good walking in but was surprised to see a kids play area in the back. I have kids but like to go to brew pubs to get away from a family friendly environment quite honestly. We have gotten a little spoiled with the opening of More Brewing in Villa Park so maybe this is harsh because we are comparing the two, but there is unfortunately a wide gap between the two IMHO, from a beer snob's point of view. read more

Finally made it to EBC after a long period of anticipation. I live on the North Shore, so this is a bit of a journey for me, but totally worth it! The food far exceeded my expectations. This is NOT your typical pub fare. EBC has a versatile, imaginative, and talented chef to complement the diverse and delicious craft beers made on premises. read more

In the competitive market of craft beer, up rises another star to the mix, EBC. Located right on the corner in Downtown Elmhurst's established nightlife, rests EBC that is quintessentially, modern Suburbia. Visually appealing, inside decor is a Black and White showcase of shapes and patterns that are a designers delight. Diamond shapes on the wall closest to the entrance, weave gracelessly to a halt, letting your eyes drift to the center and star of the room, the bar. Industrial driven and almost representative of a Wonka's paradise, are stacked fermenters, glorifying their presence with flavors carefully brewed and waiting to be devoured. The entire room, and especially the wall hugging to the outside, reminds me similarity of Solemn Oath. What is exclusively different, however, is the design featuring the Black and White outline of EBC's employees, brewing. It clearly shows a sense of pride and dedication to their establishment, and most importantly, their staff. Beer itself is okay. If you're not a beer advocate or have not presumably consumed yourself into the culture, highly suggest getting a flight. Plus, it comes out on wooden tree cutout. There are two beers that are the highlights: 1. Beer Riot - Lager's take a longer time to brew and this was just damn tasty. 2. Fools Gold - you really do feel like a fool when you drink this. The coffee notes are well-established and the "Golden" Yellow coloring throws you off to the point where you keep going in for much needed sips. Hats off to the chef(s) - you're rocking this. Meat lovers unite over the burgers - juicy, cheesy, bacon fat goodness dribbles down your chin, leaving you suddenly discovering an extra pocket in your stomach to finish every last glorified bite. The menu itself is well-rounded and is also kid friendly. Highly recommended for the area - EBC has some new fans. Watch out, Red Arrow. read more

I was here once for dinner with the fam, once for a post-work brewski, and most recently to support a great local business during this Coronavirus slowdown via curbside service. I'll focus this review on the third visit, because I think it shows best what this place is all about and how awesome they are. When we picked up the food, one of the owners came out with the food and the receipt to sign. He mentioned that they are splitting all tips among the staff and the owners won't see a penny of it. I thought that was a nice touch especially since everyone was clearly there and pitching in. While I signed the slip, he was asking us how we've been holding up in light of all the uncertainty brought about by the virus and could not have been more genuine in his gratitude for our support of their business. We had plenty of options for dinner that night, but I felt especially good about supporting EBC after that experience. Oh, the food: the grilled eggplant parm and mojo shrimp tacos were both OUTSTANDING. We'll be back soon to try out their "Hoppy meal" which combines your sandwich with a Crowler at a nice combo price. Two thumbs up! read more

I've been to EBC a handful of times now. Last night, I tried Things We Don't Say which is the best beer I've had there to date. I have not really been a big fan of their beers (or their selection) - I had hoped over time they would add more new beers (particularly IPAs), but for the most part, I see the same ones on the menu as I tried my first time coming which I wasn't impressed with then and don't want to order again. I also really struggle to pick out food because I have tried many items on the menu (pickle fries, cheese curds, tacos, salads, cheeseburger, bbq chicken flatbread, spicy pork fried rice) and am usually disappointed in one way or another (especially for the price points) - and I'm not usually that picky of an eater. Last night, I tried the Spicy Maple Chicken sandwich that someone else ordered at my table and it is the only thing so far that I would try again (but too bad you get so few fries as a side). Im hoping the recent (maybe not-so-recent since I have not been there in awhile) adds of Things We Don't Say and Spicy Maple Chicken Sandwich are a sign of fresh new options to come. The inside and outside ambiance are great and service was great. I haven't written EBC off just yet but hope they'll take this review as constructive and make some improvements. read more

This place is awesome! This brewpub caters to just about everyone. Continue reading to see what I mean! Beer - Great variety! There are some IPA's, Porters, Stouts, APA's, & some Lagers. You can view the complete beer menu on their website. My favorite beer that I ordered within a custom beer flight I created was the Grapefruit Theory (Double IPA). All of their beer options are brewed in-house by their brewmaster, Cam. Also, I am not a huge fan of Porters, but their Pocharello Porter (Chicory Habanero) is very delicious. I can enjoy the fact that the body isn't very heavy, the Chicory adds a touch of sweetness, and the finish of the beer gives a hint of tingles from the Habanero. **When you come here, create a custom flight of their beer to see which beers you like best!** Bar - Despite EBC being a brewpub, there are spirits, red + white wine, and ciders to choose from if a beer is not your favorite to drink. Food - Holy AMAZING! There are apps, handhelds, main courses, dessert & kid options. Their appetizer, Chick-arrones, (crispy fried chicken skin & thighs) was amazing! If you are on a diet, do not order this haha! I ordered their Uptown Chicken sandwich for dinner and I can't be in more love with how it tastes! There is a Pale Ale sweet & spicy glaze, 6 oz. breaded & fried chicken, miso aioli, and other garnishes that really brought all of the flavors together for a unique taste. I will def be back to try more of the menu options & beer! Atmosphere - Very laid-back brewpub. Not a rowdy place at all. I noticed that there are a lot of young families that come in and couples. There are a lot of children in this brewpub daily - which is not a negative thing, just something non-Elmhurst residents aren't used to. If you are dining-in and want to enjoy your time not being around children, let the hostess know, as there is a kids corner in the brewpub and s/he will seat you elsewhere. read more

My husband and I love Elmhurst Brewing. The location is great for taking a walk around town and enjoying the shops. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner which is stellar for us early-in-the-day people. Their Fools Gold beer is truly something of amazement. How they get all of that flavor into a light tasting beer is beyond me. And they have cider and wine, too - literally something for everyone! They host lots of fun events and it's a great place for a date night or for getting beers after yoga class (love Next Yoga down the street!) Highly recommend this brewery if you are in the area or looking for a new place to try! :) read more

Great beer, great food, great staff, great neighboring business across the street and a great addition to downtown Elmhurst. I even had the privilege and honor of being Tommy's, EBC's undisputed #1 ranked waiter, second ever table served during their opening night! read more

The atmosphere is very nice and can't complain the beer was very delicious. Huge variety! We tried the cheese curds and it was the best cheese curds that I ever had read more

Nice beers and the burger was good. The staff seems to be on top of things. I went toward their juicy beers. Good time.

Beer selection was solid. The cheese curds were good as well. Service was main reason for 3 stars. The staff seemed overwhelmed. I ended up having to ask for another beer once another customer at the bar waved the bartender down and I never received silverware with my meal or was asked how it was. read more

This place gets and A for local effort. But the beer is a bit disappointing. Love the outdoor space but the indoor is a bit sterile and corporate. Just doesn't have a lot of soul to it. We usually skip it and go to Fitz's across the street. read more

Omg the service is terrible , way too drunks wasted , could not believe any place would over serve, people are just RUDE , not casual

Great food and beer. Wonderful and attentive service too. I had a growler each of Helles and Brutus and chicken wings. Jacqueline was our server, and other than not marking which beer was which on growler caps, service was great. If you have a chance, the take home pork dinner and enchiladas is enough for 4-6 people and both are very good too. A bit disappointed that they still discriminate against my four legged roommate on the nice outdoor patio! read more

Surprisingly good based on some initial impressions we were given. I'm given to understand that their first beer batches were lacking, but they seem to be learning fast because most of the beers we tried were solid style representations and getting better everyday according to a long time bartender. I'd not really heard a bad word about the food and our lunches did not disappoint. Our pot roast tater tots, mac-n-beer cheese, and burger were not the healthiest entres but that's really not what we were there for and all were comfortingly tasty and filling. read more

Absolutely fabulous! We had a party of 12. They were VERY accommodating! We had 7 children. They sat us by their fabulous Childrens area. Our server Spencer was unbelievable! He was so kind! He had great suggestions and went out of his way to make sure we were happy and well taken care of! We all really enjoyed their beers! I had a winter salad and I loved it! I must admit my favorite item was the fried pickle fries!! We ordered two orders! We also had the cheese curds and those were a big hit. Those were a bit greasy but they were delicious... just like my boyfriend ;) The kids meals came with fries and apples. I think. My nephew said it was the best kids flatbread he had ever had! Overall we loved the food! The atmosphere! The kids play area! The beer! The GREAT SERVICE! I highly recommend this place! read more

Slow service and cold sub-par food. Beer was not anything like description. Even the water had a rotten taste.

Again, really want this place to succeed but they really need to work on service. This was our first in person visit since COVID. I think they were doing a good job with COVID precautions. The hostess had someone walk in that didn't have a mask and gave him one to wear. Things were going good at first, but then as we finished the waitress was nowhere to be found. 10 minutes turned into 20 that turned into 30. Finally we got our bill, I put the credit card on and the waitress walked by us twice in another 10 minute span and didn't pick it up. Went to the bathroom and the waitress was sitting at the bar on her phone. Not cool. We were sitting next to the hostess stand and finally I called one of them over to tell them we just couldn't wait anymore. I really don't understand why the hostesses can't take a more active role in making sure tables are not sitting for extended periods of time. How hard is it to round and ask people if everything is ok. Beer and food were great, I just wish they could get the service down! We've gotten carryout several times and it has been good and expeditious as well. read more

Foods gross beer not far behind . Food prices are bit high for junk tasteless food !!!!

Great atmosphere and great people. There are a lot of kids during the day, but the bar is somewhat sectioned off. They have great beer and a wide selection that's sure to meet everyone's expectations. You won't regret coming here for just the beer. Decent menu, but it needs some work. Not too uncommon for a new place. Even if you don't order a pork sandwich ever - ORDER THE PORK SANDWICH. Its amazing. read more

First time here- friendly staff, great burgers and loved the outdoor dining area! Will definitely be back

I hosted my office Christmas party here and rented out the Mezzanine for the evening. We had a blast, they had to kick us out when they were closing. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were amazing. The event planner and chef helped me pick out the food for the buffet and it was above and beyond what I even expected! Don't hesitate to host your party here!!! I will be back! read more

Talk bout unexpected gem. We had gone with another couple and their son. It is known for Indian fusion which is my least favorite. But this place redeemed my opinion. I think they stayed more true to the food so fusion was not as present. The beer variety was quite interesting. My friends tried some and really enjoyed them. The food was excellent. So much we went back second time in 1 week. Very loud noisy place as you would expect with a brewery. Service little slow and 1x they forget 1 entree as it seems they may need more staff on busy nites. But definitely worth a try. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at EBC. Great craft beer, the best burger in Elmhurst and the pretzels were outstanding too!!

Josie is the best waitress!! I've had her twice now and she's so nice and charismatic! Super relatable and helpful!!

As we sit here waiting for our check, it's with regret that I give a 2 star rating. The staff is very nice and courteous. The restaurant is clean and the patio is beautiful - so it has that going for it. Unfortunately, they are very slow. It wasn't a particularly busy night, yet it took so long to get our food and when we did it was room temperature at best. My husband got the fish and chips and didn't even finish it - lacked any flavor at all. The fries seemed to be stale. As for the beer, they are heavy on IPA's and in our opinion lack variety and taste when IPA is not your beer of choice. We've been here on a number of occasions and have always been sadly underwhelmed. read more

Awesomesauce! So happy there's a fantastic brewery in E-town now. I moved to Minneapolis 4 years ago, but mom still lives in Elmhurst, so she brought us here last summer. It was great! Mom & I split the little elm flight and hubby & I split the big elm flight (win win). All the beers we tried were tasty, I really liked the Julius Squeezer & Professor Plum. The Fool's Gold was also great. We split the hummus plate - so good, you can tell it's all homemade. Hubby got the sumac buffalo chicken, which was delicious, and I don't remember what the other thing we got was, but I know it was tasty. I can't wait to visit again, especially if we have time to have a chill afternoon at the brewery. read more

Love the food, atmosphere and beer! What a wonderful addition to Elmhurst. They have so many fun events.

Subsequent visit during weekend evening: -Even MORE kids!? Unbelievable... -Extremely loud, blasting music (I couldn't bear it, not sure how the parents or the many toddlers could!?) -Food still "ok" (curds are great, nothing else is) -Beer: Julius Squeezer is the only great beer _________________ Excellent first experience! Positives were: -Friendly welcome -Great service (Coleen) -Very easy to follow menu with ample food beer choices -Best cheese curds -Great burgers -Really good beer, particularly the NE style IPA (Julius Squeezer) There were a LOT of kids, so maybe the atmosphere will be different during the evening. We were here on a Tuesday night and our experience was really good. We were seated as soon as we entered, our host Emily was quick and courteous. Since it was our first time, we asked for flights. The brewmaster here is a genuine magician when it comes to beers, every beer we tasted was super smooth. I have been to so many breweries and every place has few good beers and the rest of them are just meh. Loved the golden stout! Was quite surprised over the color and taste of the beer. We weren't super hungry,so we just ordered pretzels with beer cheese and they went well with the beers. Waiting for them to bring in some heavy stouts on the menu. Will be back again.
