The best food, beer, and service for our party! I hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law at the private upstairs mezzanine at Elmhurst Brewing Co. and the whole staff could not have been more accommodating. I can't express how friendly and easy-going everyone was. Our bartender, Jessica, was amazing. I had more than one guest approach me just to tell me how much they loved Jessica. The owner was working during our event too and was also super nice and helpful. The food and beer were also amazing. Again, I had more than one guest tell me how much they loved the food and the drinks. The space was perfect too. It's cozy and away from the public downstairs but also has a super nice bar and plenty of tables and chairs for eating and was spacious enough for mingling. Truly a 10/10 experience. I am so grateful for how accommodating the whole staff was for us. This was my first time hosting an event like this so I can't imagine that I was their favorite client to work with. I was a bit unsure of how many people we would have in attendance and didn't order enough food at first. Despite that, the service was great, and we were able to order more food in a super timely manner so no one went hungry. Staff took care of everything so that even as the host, I was able to drink and have a fun time! I will definitely host another event here. read more

We have enjoyed many experiences at the brewery. The beer list is solid and the food is above average compared to other brew pubs. You can't really go wrong here. Service has always been very good as well. read more

EBC has become a favorite of mine. Great food, phenomenal beer, and amazing service On a recent visit to listen to the live music, it began to rain, lightly at first but our waitress Tina still provided exceptional service. She always has been fantastic, but this moment just made it clear the great job she does. One of the many reasons to go there. read more

Incredible list of brews and a fantastic artisan menu for food. Fast, fresh, and great. Not the first time here, but the consistently great service and ownership warranted a great review. Thanks Frazer and thanks Stephanie! read more

The beer and food here are great, and my server Antonio is toats super hot. Best time ever!

I hate to say it, but this is my favorite brewery in the world. I'm from Michigan, and we have some amazing beer, and I will always have a special place in my heart for Bell's. But the beers here are simply amazing. They're all different with complex and good flavors. Especially a fan of the fools gold, and I'm not even usually a stout drinker! read more

Great staff, awesome patio, nice inside area too. I have not really liked a lot of their beers - nothing special or memorable. Their food is fine. read more

Just ok. I was really looking forward to trying this place out, however I left disappointed. The beer was OK, and thats it -- you can find better beer options at other restaurants around town (Flight 112, 151, etc.). So, if a beer place doesn't make OUTSTANDING beers, they kinda missed the point. The food was nothing great either, though the fries were good. I had a burger which was just meh. The bun was terrible, and nothing like the description on the menu. When my burger arrived, I thought they had brought me the wrong item. We also got an appetizer of pub cheese. This was not quite what I expected -- a jar of COLD cheese arrived with 3 pieces of BURNT bread. Not exactly what I envisioned when I ordered. I will probably venture back to this place at some point, however I am in no hurry to return. I strongly believe there are better options in the immediate area. read more

Family friendly, my daughter loves it here. Beer is good, food is solid. I know it's a brewery, but a non-alcoholic option is warranted in a community of families. My wife doesn't want to come here while pregnant since there aren't good options. I think a great idea for EBC would be a Parent/child sports team. IDK, maybe i'm just a bad father for wanting to bring my kid to a brewery. read more

Just came into town on a Monday night (on business) and saw this place right in the downtown area. I'm a big fan of craft beer so I never pass up the chance to check out a local brewery that serves food. The outside of the place is somewhat mysterious, but then you go in and the are welcomed with a good vibe. Acoustic musicians/cover bands playing up on a second floor balcony at a nice volume allowing for good conversation in the main dining/bar area. Beer was top notch, strong yet smooth, food was great and the menu was simple. I had a bratwurst sandwich that was probably the best I ever tasted. Definitely plan on coming back soon read more

What a great place to take your family or meet your buddies for the unique style of in-house created beer! We took our family of six (total) there and the service was top notch! The owners were floating amongst the crowd ensuring all clientele were satisfied, sometimes even delivering dishes and spending time with customers. The food was much better than your traditional bar food. The Sumac buffalo chicken sandwich was out of this world and my wife loved the Waldorf salad. The kids enjoyed the fried pickles and the pretzels and cheese. The beer was exceptional! I highly recommend the "Go to Helles." If your looking for a place to go in Elmhurst, then this a great place for family and friends. read more

Heard they had a kids area so I emailed the owner and asked about it, and also asked a question about the beers. Within a few hours I had gotten responses both from the owner and the brewmaster. So we decided to load up the toddler twins for lunch today. Bear in mind that the boys can be a handful to bring out so this was a tall challenge. The staff could not have been sweeter and the kids corner is perfect. We ordered burgers and beer samples and got the boys an order of chicken fingers to share. Burgers were great and cooked to order which is not easy to come by these days. Fries were excellent also. The boys thought the chicken fingers were a bit too gourmet for their tastes but loved the fries, apples and juice. Next time we will try them on the sliders, and there will definitely be a next time. As far as the beer goes - we tried the Helles, APA, Irish Red, Golden Stout and American Stout. We took a crowler of the Irish home. It is certainly not a Killian's Clone but a nice malty beer. I also enjoyed the American Stout which was roasty but easy drinking and the Helles is a great beer for a crowd. I look forward to them branching out to British and Belgian Beers. As I said - we will be back. read more

Great new brewpub in Elmhurst. Loved the Sausage plate with smashed potatoes today. And, a tasty "Westy" IPA. Friendly service from Michael at the bar too! read more

Finally made it into Elmhurst Brewing Co. and I'm glad I did! I had an excellent burger, the EBC , on the recommendation of a friend and it was the best I've had in a long time. The " Beer Riot Lager" was cold crisp and refreshing. I will defiantly be back for more. Service was good, ambience was great. Kid friendly too! Really happy to see this place thriving in the Elmhurst area. read more

Walt P. Excellent ambiance, beers, food and service. Elmhurst Brewing has great energy. A great place to visit on the way home from work (very close to Elmhurst train station) or for family dinner. The chef is very creative and excellent and there is a wide variety of food options. Excellent beers with excellent choices to satisfy everyone's tastes. A great way to sample their beers is to order a flight. A visit to Elmhurst Brewing will definitely not disappoint, whether a quick beer after work or for a great evening out with family or friends. read more

Great brews and burgers! Went there today and service was great and quick! They always have a good variety of beers on tap and a lot of them

Came here with 3 friends and if you like beer, it's a great place to get flights! My top 2 favorites were the professor plum (10% so on the stronger side) and the woodruff (3.5%) so it was a lot lighter. The service was SO GREAT! The person serving us was super friendly and easy to get along with. The dishes we ordered were the wings (half BBQ and half hot) and it was AMAZING! The wings were better than BDUBS and were very tender and not too dry. The BEST THING ON THE MENU IS THE PORK FRIED RICE. My all time fav fried rice which is wack since this is a brewery but it's so delicious and it's topped with a egg which makes it so much tastier. I wasn't too impressed with the Mac and cheese, it was too wet and tasted like my microwaveable Mac and cheese from a box. Wish I got the cheese curds instead. Overall, really great place to come with a small group or on a date! Would come here again :) read more

We came in for lunch on Sunday. Space was large and welcoming. Looks like they are going to have an outside area. The beer was great. The bartender(Allie) was super welcoming. We had the pickle fries(amazing), smokey eggplant soup (so good) and the schnitzel. Everything was fab. My only complaint is the kids running around everywhere. It is a restaurant plus a brewery. I get it. Families need places to go too but the kids were all over the place, screaming and running around. Not my favorite. read more

This place is awesome. From the beer to the atmosphere. Five stars. They have an upstairs area that is perfect for social gatherings, it has all the beers on tap up there! The employees are all helpful and the brewer is there answering questions! A must stop if in the area. read more

Definitely a place to check out and worth coming back. A night with the boys for a few brews and some back yard games or come earlier for a family friendly atmosphere and a corner for the kids to hang out while you wait for a table. The wait staff and bartenders are quick with a smile and friendly service. My burger was delicious and my wife dug into the fish fry and asked for more. It's the new place in town to be and your taste buds will thank you after enjoying their brews. read more

Elmhurst local so I thought I would give it a try. The Interior is surprisingly nice. Where they went wrong is I walked into 5 screaming kids with parents just watching. It took awhile to get seated. The breaking point for me was we sat there for 15 minutes without a waiter even stopping by. Winded up walking out without ever talking to a waiter. Wouldn't recommend. To summarize: Seems like a cool place aesthetically. Clearly having growing pains Staff are all kids Service is what you would expect when you hire kids. I wish I could speak to the food or the bear but I'll never know. read more

Nice atmosphere and kid friendly. The beer flights were great. My wife had the eggplant tortilla soup and she said it was excellent. The meat and cheese tray was disappointing and quite expensive for what we got. read more

Went there for dinner and to check out the beers, there was a 45 minute wait for a table, when we could see many empty tables. Others were waiting also so we sat at the bar. The beers were good and tasty,. There was no-one was waiting anymore so we put our name down for a table and saw we were next on the list. We saw other parties being seated so went up to check if they had made a reservation but instead were told that we had to wait for a table for 2! So we walked out and went elsewhere for dinner. Maybe they need to rethink their seating policy.. Obviously they are brand new and have to work these things out. read more

Only tried the beer. A fantastic selection of truly different beers with a few I have never seen anywhere. A really nice balanced set of beers and not the usual 10 IPAs differing only in how over-hopped they are. Top shelf. read more

We have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. One thing I love is the kids area which is a great idea for Elmhurst. We can come with our two kids and they are entertained while waiting for food or a table. Each of the beers and entrees we had were excellent. The owners I can see put a lot of sweat and money into the place and it looks beautiful! We'll be back for sure for dinner with the family. One improvement comment is the price for growlers is a little high in my opinion. Last week I walked in to fill up a growler and it was $20 before tax. The prices for all growlers are $20-25 before tax. I feel this is high for just a walk in fill up, and am used to $12-17 at places like Half Acre and Begyle. Suggestion to the owners is consider lowering growler prices as I'm unlikely to walk in again for a fill-up at this price. read more

For only having been open a few days, this place is great! A decent sized beer menu, all of which can appeal to any beer drinker regardless of their preferences. The food was equally as plentiful and enjoyable! Atmosphere-wise, another score for this brewery! Overall I'm satisfied with my experience here during their opening days and look forward to returning in the near future. Beer pictured: ACK Attack. See all

We've been to this place 3 times in 3 years and the service was awful each time. After sitting without a waiter for 10 minutes I was reminded that this is exactly what happened the last time we were here, and the time before that, which is why we don't come to EBC, except Elmhurst is pretty light on restaurants so you end up forgetting (or telling yourself maybe it will be different) and you go back. I don't have any opinion on the food or the beer, it's fine. But the service at this place, in my experience, is awful. They seem to hire people who have no experience and are learning on the job, which is fine, if they planned to supplement with extra support. They don't. I live like 3 blocks from this place and hope I will never give it another shot. read more

This is my favorite place to go... I ordered chicken wings & I love it! The sauce ( bbq sauce) is so delicious. Yum!

Great place. Pork & Chicken sandwiches are tasty. Grapefruit Theory Beer is a winner.

Wow, attended a soft opening event at the newly opened Elmhurst Brewing Company last night...this place is off the charts. Gorgeous comfortable interior with plenty of seating and a fabulous bar. All the beers are listed on an informative menu and the staff are there to help, I challenge you find something that will not blow your socks off. Good wine and craft spirit options for the non beer drinker. Food menu is great, all cooked fresh and to order. Clearly the owners are aiming for a family friendly destination. Will be returning within the week! read more

Elmhurst Brewing - Enjoy your craft brew in a 5 star location ! - Breweries Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

We were very eager to try the new EBC in town. It was a perfect night to enjoy the outside patio, however, my family and I were irritated as there were swarms of small children crawling, screaming, and running around outside. We were then seated inside and were disgusted as we witnessed children with exposed diapers crawling around the tables and floor unattended with toys everywhere. How unbelievably unsanitary!!! Food was decent, service was good, beer was great. This establishment gets an A as a daycare center; a play area does not belong in a brewery. read more

I stopped in here to meet up with a friend last Saturday night. We both had a few beers which were great. I recommend the "Go to Helles" and "Julius Squeezer". We also had the pickle fries. They were awesome!Imagine pickle spears cut into French fry size and deep fried. I can't wait to get more. If you are interested in getting some tasty beers and food I highly recommend you give Elmhurst Brewing a try. read more

Bar area is too small, TVs too small and not turned on, too crowded. Beer is good.

I had and still have high hopes for Elmhurst Brewing, but my friends and I have felt their brews, food, and even service to be subpar. As they're still somewhat in their infancy, we hope they will mature and sort these issues out. The food: I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, which were pretty flavorless, and included fries instead of tortilla chips. Fries and tacos, in my not-so-humble opinion, do not belong. Additionally, most of the fries were soggy. I hate to be so harsh, but honesty says that bland and depressing come to mind for the tacos. My girlfriend was kind enough to offer me some of her chicken sandwich, which was mildly better. If you need food, you should probably opt for the burger or chicken sandwich, as those are hard to mess up. The beer: None of the beers really told me a convincing story that I'd expect from a good brew. I had an "Elm Hefe" (hefeweizen) and a sample of a new oatmeal stout. The hefeweizen didn't have the usual banana flavors I'm used to with a hefeweizen, and just tasted off as if it was a lager trying to be hefe. I'm usually a bit skeptical on stouts that try to market themselves as a dessert, as the one I tried (can't remember the name) said it was brewed with different varieties of cookies and sugary things which remind me of downtown Elmhurst and its plethora of yogurt, ice cream, and dessert shops. I don't typically enjoy oatmeal stouts, and I can't say I enjoyed this one either, as it was extremely thick, and tasted like they just dumped a bunch of ingredients into the mash tank and hoped for the best. This one could have had potential, but it was overly thick and there was an imbalance in everything - again, returning to a story told unconvincingly. I get the impression Elmhurst Brewing worked hard to establish a brewery in Elmhurst, and they've done that. I have the utmost respect for their endeavors. However, I can't help but believe they know there are major improvements to be made in both their brews and their food. I believe if you're going to do something (like offer food), you should do it right or not do it at all. Gone are the days where people would suffice for mediocre bar food, and people come to breweries expecting a delicious meal from breweries or no meal at all. Elmhurst Brewing does not yet provide this, but, having been born in Elmhurst (and perhaps spoiled by the great brews in Chicago), I have genuine hopes that they will rise up to be a gem in the suburbs in the near future. Best of luck, EB! read more

A great addition to downtown Elmhurst. Great atmosphere, food, and beer. Kid friendly as well, which is a must for Elmhurst. I can't wait until the weather warms and we can use the beer garden. Food is good quality- much better than 'bar' food. You can tell a lot of thinking (and $$) was put into this place to get it right. We will be coming often! read more

Stopped in for lunch. Was seated in the high tops by the bar, party of 4. Bartender was handling the entire area but the place was less than half full and the bar area had maybe 8 people total besides us. Got a flight of beers, all ipa's, the beer is solidly mediocre. The golden coffee stout was the only thing I would drink again. We ordered the pretzel app and kids meals and this is where things took a grinding halt. They didn't have lemonade, chocolate milk only soda for the kids menu. We had no food or service for a long time. The bar emptied out and yet we were still waiting on food. Bartender came over and apologized for our wait and said food should be out soon. We ordered our food, rice was sold out, pot pie was sold out, 3-4 other things on the menu they were out of. The first round of food showed up, the kids sliders were cooked rare, something that should never happen, the kids took a few bites then left the rest on the plate as sending them back would take another 30 minutes. After the kids were finished our food showed up, the burger was well done (instead of medium as asked), I asked for a fried chicken sandwich and it came grilled, again for fear of another 30 minute wait we just sucked it up to get out of there. Guy offered us 4 oz pour on him since everything was so bad. Grand total $81, the pro's list on this place was so short that we will never be back. read more
