My family and I have eaten at Elmer's for years and it's always a solid choice. Elmer's offers typical breakfast fare such as pancakes, French toast, eggs, omelettes, etc. For breakfast, one of their specialties is a German pancake. (Definitely produces that "wow" factor when brought to the table). Lines can get long here on the weekends. If you can get here early, you should be able to be seated right away. Show up after 930/10 and you'll be in the lobby or outside for some time. Today we ordered the French toast combo with scrambled eggs and sausage links (me), and a Mr Elmer's omelette with hashbrowns and a side of crispy bacon (my husband). I love their French toast as it's thick and a bit crunchy. I choose to use butter and powder sugar instead of syrup. Sausage and eggs are great, nothing special. The omelette combo was also great and went well with a mimosa. It's nice to get tasty, consistent food when you order at a restaurant. read more

I was really pleasantly surprised at what a great meal we had here! We moved out of state where there aren't Elmer's so hadn't been in years but it was a convenient location to meet an old friend. Sara, first of all, was the best waitress I recall having (& I eat out a lot and am old). I made some changes to how I wanted my crepes plus wanted my hashbrowns super crunchy and got the best I've EVER had! I've had to send them back at several restaurants in the past even though had asked for them crunchy, so am hesitant to even order them any more. We were asked about refills frequently too. So I visited Elmer's today, and was toggling back and forth debating if I wanted to stick with my regular breakfast meal which is the Crabacado or French toast. After making my mind up I decided to go with my usual breakfast. Today was not a good day to pick.my favorite option. Now don't get me wrong Modesto or server was good and the food looked amazing as always, but when I went to take a bit of my omelet it was very fishy. I asked my mother to take a bite, maybe it was my taste buds were being extra sensitive Today. She also thought it taste pretty fishy. They didn't have a problem removing the item off my bill, but I didn't even get 5 mins down the road when my stomach started cramping and I became nauseous. Carpets are a little faded, maintenance is lacking somewhat but the food was really good! We waited for about 20 minutes. It wasn't packed nor crowded due to a shortage of available wait staff. Once seated, we ordered and had our food in less than 20 minutes. Very friendly waiter and they knew all the options available on the menu for Plant Based diets. Most of us got a breakfast platter. In Oregon for a wedding and wanted to find a local breakfast place. This was close to our Airbnb. Food was really good but five starts is mostly for the service. I had the chicken fried steak and it was quite good. The potatoes were nice too. I ordered poached eggs and I guess I thought since Elmer's is one of the original breakfast restaurants, they would be able to properly poach an egg. The Van Mall location closed, thankfully this one isn't too far from us. Partner and I took the kids for breakfast on a Sunday morning and we were seated quickly, surprisingly since it was past 9. I always get a Bloody Mary when we come here, it's delicious and flavorful , and was possibly the greatest reason for our visit on this particular day lol. Teenager got the standard bacon and eggs aka the Ranch Breakfast, loved that the eggs were cooked perfectly. 7 year old got chocolate chip pancakes, of course, and as usual, they were "the best". Partner and I each got the signature omelet Looking for the Sun which comes with a fresh baked biscuit. It's a really good omelet, gooey Jack and cheddar with smoky chipotle bacon (lots of it!), fresh salsa, sour cream, and avocado. We also added the works to our hasbrowns, mmm!! Oh, and not to be outdone, we ordered and all shared the German Pancake which was covered in powdered sugar and fresh squeezed lemon juice, the pancake itself was so soft and had crunchy, crispy edges. We have decided never to return to Elmer's due to sanitation. We came for breakfast and witnessed servers bussing tables by picking up glasses by sticking their fingers into the glasses. This is gross and unsanitary especially because it's flu, cold, and covid season. I left a message pointing out my concern. I never heard back from them. We went back a second time and observed the same disgusting practice. I sent another message. This time I said we wouldn't be back. This is long overdo. I have to say the breakfasts are yummy and the portions are huge. I cannot get enough of their potato pancakes. YUM! Put a little apple sauce on it and yum! Sour cream, yum. Ordered the fresh fruit waffle and it was amazing. The waffle was crispy and tender. The piles of fresh blueberries, strawberries and banana were surrounded by a big ring of whipped cream. Syrup was served on the side and I drizzled it on the whip cream and fruit. I'm a big fan of whipped cream and their balance was perfect for me. Actual waffle looks exactly like their menu picture. Being a big guy living in Oklahoma I crave a great place to grab some big breakfast. The kind that'll get you through the day. I received that here for sure! Not only is the restaurant cozy and offers a ton of space and great service, the food I had was also top notch! I must say, there is now a warm spot in my heart for northwest hash browns. I didn't know that was at think until I ate here! They are normal hash browns but the potatoes are shredded super thick! It's like a warm blanket of delicious bliss with a slight crunch. I understand this is a local chain but you wouldn't know just by going into this spot. It's kinda tough to get in and out of, but if I an figure it out anybody else can. I traveled to Washington for an event and went to the one in Mill Plain. This one is just as good as the one in Palm Springs, CA. The food, service, ambiance is great. Order the Crabacado or any omelette for that matter, and it does not disappoint. It is excellent. The pancakes and strawberry crepes are delicious. This is my "go-to" place for breakfast. Service is good; food and prices are good and the menu has a little something for everyone. I had one of their omelette's for breakfast and my wife had eggs, hash browns and bacon. Everything is very good but the German Pancake is a must try as are the potato pancakes. All their sandwiches are excellent, reasonably priced and huge. I'm not sure you can find much on the menu you'd send back...everything is good. We were at the Mill plain Location yesterday, granted with a party of Nine, grandson's Tenth Birthday, wound up waiting about over an hour, granted were offered split seating, but Soren's Tenth birthday! Kitchen Table and just about any other facility would have moved tables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When meal arrived, my hash browns were woefully underdone, partially cooked potatoes and lifeless. Around Nineteen 60's my folks would drive us from our Oregon City location out to the 82 ND/ St....location ,New Elemer's several times a month for breakfast or lunch. Fast forward, years later I was an industrial salesman covering Mutiple West Coast States, when possible, always looked to find an Elmer's location, if it was in the general area, I was in. My family's and my breakfast was very good. Our order consisted of the Yukon French Toast, Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, and Crabacado omelette (my order). We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. My wife and daughter each gave me a bite of their's and I thought they were both quite good. Service was friendly and quick. This restaurant has got the BEST PRIME RIB around. Great service and warm atmosphere with fireplaces.

Food is always consistent here. Breakfast is the best! Pancakes are good, hash browns are great and I have had eggs every which way and so far they have been perfect every time. I prefer the omelettes the most. Service has never disappointed. Been there at all times of the day and week. Tyler seems to do a great job managing the restaurant and Chelsea who usually works evenings is always great! Sometimes she is by herself and she hustles and gets it done!
