    Lobster tail
    Wendy Z.

Stopped into Elm Street bakery today to pick up some pizza bagels. Can't ever go wrong with those. We decided we'd try a couple of pastries while we were there. We picked up a lobster tail, and a Whoopie pie. The cream inside the lobster tail tasted like medicine. Completely inedible. We also chose a powdered sugar covered whippy pie, one of our favorites. The Whoopie pie cake was extremely extremely dry and literally fell apart as I cut into it with a fork. Sad to say, but we won't be back. They have been consistent for years, not this time. .

Just wrong, I said Mom. On a cookie, smashed the decoration

This review is based on their on the strawberry cake. Packing, up charge and additional writing on cake. I've had better for less $. I've been around Everett for my entire life. My family moved here in the 1950's. I rarely give 1 or 2 stars taking into consideration an establishment is having an off day. But this just didn't seem like an off day it seemed more like inexperience, not a great product. A strawberry cake serving 6-12 we picked out was decorated with shaved white and some milk chocolate on the top. The top had 3 very beautiful strawberries on the top. Although the cake presents well. The chocolate is over the top and makes it more sugary. The berries cannot be shared easily without slicing. The top of the cake pretty but not practical for sharing or serving. Writing on the cake was wrong! suppose to be "Happy Birthday Mom", was "Happy Birthday Mama" on a cookie not the cake. Instead, written on a cookie. Then mashed on top of the pretty chocolate and strawberries. It was packed in the box that was partially open because it could not fit properly in the cake box. Clear shipping tape was used to tapped the sides of the box. Photos show what the cake looked like upon opening the box. I was not asked to view the cake just before they taped it. And I didn't remember to ask, that's the baker's role. The whipped cream non dairy frosting was nice, the additional shaved white chocolate on the sides was pretty but too sweet and made the whipped cream not stand out. There was more than enough whipped cream and the ratio to the yellow cake was too much whipped cream. In addition, for a strawberry shortcut or strawberry cake. The filling was minimal of any flavor or real strawberries inside. Additional charge for writing on the cake at 2.00, cake was about 30.00

I specifically ordered a cake i told them exactly what i wanted . when we picked up the cake it was totally nothing g like i ordered . The disappointment when speaking to the owner of the bakery. I was so embarrassed of the cake. It was for my aunt and uncles 50th anniversary. I wanted a cascade down the side of the cake. They decided to do their own thing, I spent over $450.00 dollars with Elm St . the cake was a disappointment the pastries were great. Elm street bakery is the only bakery my family goes to for over 30 years or however long they've been there. Very Disappointed.

My friend picked up some savory and sweet treats on a Thursday morning. We got to try their pizza squares, pizza bagels, blueberry muffins, and an assortment of pastries. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes great! As someone who believes crusts can be a hit or miss on pizzas, this one was certainly a hit for me. The sauce was slightly sweet and I can only imagine how much better it would have tasted fresh from the oven or sitting in the fridge. Would come again!

I come here over a lot of other closer bakeries. Worth the drive for the high quality sweets.

No exaggeration, the eclaires and bismarcks were double wide and at least 10" long. Three people could split an eclaire, oh my gosh. We bought an assortment of cookies, pastries, bread, and pizza. Everything was fresh and excellent. We took our pastries a few minutes away to the seashore and indulged in the comfort of our car for fear thise famous Revere seagulls (which are also giant) would swoop down and steal our sweets. A well-run, quality shop with ample selection for your sweet or savory craving. A local landmark for good reason, and worth the drive from anywhere in the region.

The selection is impressive--cannoli, lobster tails, cookies, and a variety of cakes that all look as good. The shop itself has an old-school charm, and you can tell they take pride in their craft. Also prices are reasonable for the quality. I'm always partial to Italian cookies which they have an abundance of. Most recently tried their fresh breads and was pleasantly impressed. If you're in the area and have a craving for some Italian treats, Luberto's is certainly a solid option.
