Selection of 6 different types of oysters to varied to type!
Dan G.

What a wonderful first experience here. An incredible selection of oysters and the steak was perfect. We also had the lamb kebab and deviled eggs! Everything is made here fresh (the bread for the cheese plate is from boston and the cheese is obviously imported) but this restaurant is perfect for those who appreciate fresh ingredients and everything made from scratch. Not inexpensive but worth every dollar. Would recommend and will be back. What a delicious menu and the cocktails are perfectly executed!

Gin cucumber gimlet and oyster special

I came here for 1 drink and oysters while killing time before going to a friend's house in Andover. This spot came up as having a good cocktail program, so I went to check it out on a Saturday just after opening time. I sat at the bar and a few other folks who seemed like regulars came in right after me. I ordered the cucumber gimlet with gin and it was well mixed and tasty. They had moondancer oysters on special, so I asked the bartender if they were briny. His response was that all the oysters were briny. That should have been a red flag, but I was like 6 moondancers, please! They were tiny and not briny. I was so disappointed that I almost didn't order moondancers at a different restaurant the next day - however those were both large AND briny! Someone had their oyster types wrong. Honestly, it probably wasn't here since they have Oyster in their name. Lol. Oh, yeah - the woman who dropped off my oysters pointed out a "very spicy" sauce that came with them. Of course, I had to try it. I almost died. So spicy. But so good. I couldn't use it for my oysters since I actually wanted to taste them, but I did get a few spoonfuls of that sauce in my mouth after the fact. Hooboy! Glad she warned me! Anyway - the bartender was friendly, the drink was good and I should have found someone else to ask about the oyster types, apparently. I would come back here if I'm in the area again. The other drinks and food that people were having looked delicious.

Salmon entree with maple Manhattan

Yum!! Went here for a date night and had a wonderful time. We ordered oysters, charcuterie, and entrees of chicken and salmon. Pros: mixed drinks were amazing! Strong and flavorful with just the right ratio. Would highly recommend their Maple Manhattan. Our waiter was also incredibly attentive, kind, and polite! The salmon was cooked perfectly. The skin was crisp, and the middle melted away as soon as I dug my fork into it. Cons: We were seated in the back by the bathroom and kitchen, which was far too loud and busy. It felt as though we were in the middle of an intersection. This was a bit disappointing as the rest of the place seemed to have a classy, romantic ambience. The price for oysters are a bit steep at $3.50 a shell. I'd like to go back for $1.50 oyster nights on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Lastly, though the technique for the salmon was outstanding, the entree was overpowered with way too much salt. Overall, a great date night spot on the pricier side with excellent drinks!

I've been driving by this place for years and finally came in for the first time. As a local I couldn't believe why I pass this restaurant all the time without giving it a chance. Oysters were fresh and delicious. Lobster roll was decent. Pork loin was my favorite cooked to perfection with a very balanced of favors. Best of all they have happy hour wine for $5.

Espresso martini. Spicy margarita. Pumpkin latte.

Great dinner and drinks. Oysters were shucked perfectly. Amazing taste. I wish they weren't 3.50 each. Pricey for a causal dining spot in Andover. Anyways meat and cheese was delicious and plenty for party of 3. Halibut was crispy and moist. Pork belly and scallops were cooked perfectly. Cavatelli was light and flavorful. I'd like to try out their "happy hour"

Plant based Korean burger was not great. Soggy from the sauce and slaw, very spicy (to me!), and…read moredid not capture that burger mouth feel. Their specialty ice coffee is aight. Tastes watered down. REGARDLESS, ALL THE STARS IN THE WORLD for their drinks. The peach shaken ice tea and raspberry rose teas have every complex note they describe. I'm jaded by all the fruity drinks/tea blends out there that are just too sweet and artificial. Nan's makes it perfectly. The white peach actually shines through, which is rare in my experience. The raspberry is REAL. Speaking as someone who enjoys artificial raspberry flavors of jam donuts and bottled ice tea...idk if Nan's makes it for real, but, if so, you can taste it! You still taste the tea, the fruits, the florals, it's not watered down, and best of all--not overtly sweet. Their fruit drinks have the perfect balance. It's genuinely refreshing and delicious. I find myself craving their teas all the time!!

**We found our new favorite spot!**…read more My partner and I stumbled upon Nan's Kitchen and what a delightful discovery it was! As first-timers, we were treated with such warmth and patience by the staff - no pressure, no rush, just genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. We started by sharing the hatch chili farro bowl with roasted cauliflower and hominy, fragrant ginger carrots, and lemon mustard salmon. The tomato harissa sauce and zhoug were absolutely incredible - seriously, these sauces are to die for! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavors were so well-balanced. Pictures are not perfect, but the lighting was so warm and comfortable, you will have to excuse them! Halfway through our meal, I spotted they had coconut carrot soup with chickpeas and ginger on the menu and literally ran back to order a cup. We ended up sharing that too, and it was such a smart move - the soup was aromatic and comforting with just the right amount of spice from the ginger. To drink, we had fresh lemonade and iced tea (both perfectly refreshing), and couldn't resist finishing with their banana pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. What really stood out beyond the exceptional food was how accommodating and friendly the service was. They made splitting dishes feel completely natural and were so welcoming when I dashed back for that soup! The attention to flavor and seasoning here is remarkable - every single component of our meal was thoughtfully prepared. We're already planning our next visit. Nan's Kitchen has absolutely earned a permanent spot on our regular rotation! Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared food with service that makes you feel like family.

When we were in the process of losing our soul mate of a dog to lung cancer they would go above and beyond for our random orders and would always try to bring a smile to our face when we would pick it up. She wouldn't eat so we would call & ask for plain unseasoned grilled chicken or just bacon or whatever it was they always helped us out. Her last meal was bacon on the beach (her favorite place). Thank you for the amazing service.

Ya know, I once navigated to this place on accident before? Yeah. Still not sure what my GPS was…read moredoing that day. Because I normally go to the one in Salem. But on this day, I thought to myself, "Self, I really hate making that busy-as-hell left turn on South Broadway in Salem. What if we took a journey to the Andover location instead?" And so it was. I enter this cozy little restaurant carefully tucked against a slightly submerged parking garage. Although, I probably shouldn't say "little" because the interior was noticeably larger than its Salem counterpart. It's also noisy AF in there when it gets busier than a New York subway. So naturally, I ordered my usual to-go (a Country Classic with an extra egg and hashbrowns for those who don't know). Only it wasn't *quite* ready on time. Which, to be fair, is kind of a minor point. Thing is, they have to shout your name whenever your order is finally ready. This in and of itself can prove to be quite the challenge when bellowing atop the already roaring crowd of customers impeding the otherwise accessible pickup shelves. I'll do my best to describe the interior since I wasn't really able to take pictures. But try to imagine an L-shaped dining area with the longest part hosting a row of countertop seats facing the windows. Beyond that sits a rather modest dining area with a few more tables. Next to that sits the gender neutral restrooms. It's strange and cramp, particularly when the place is packed tighter than a sardine can. Sufficed to say, I'm not much a fan of the interior design here. Being the partial recluse that I am, I offer the following best practice for a place so riotous: mobile order that shiz, cuh! Seriously. I had to put in my noise cancelling earbuds to appease my misophonia. The good news is....the food is still awesome. The eggs? Creamier than crème fraîche. Taters? Eh, I don't why...but these seemed way more seasoned the very first time I tried them. Fortunately, they actually pair rather well with their refined version of ketchup. The bacon? Well...let's just say I wish it were served well done. Not sure if I'm able to request that. But I'll scope out my options next time and get back to you all. That's it though. Nice place, WAY easier to get to than its Salem counterpart, but a bit too cramp and noisy for my taste which means....I'll likely ever dine in here. It's all good though, because I'm still giving Crack'd Kitchen & Coffee in Andover 4 Country Classics with all the fixins out of 5.
