I have had many, many animals over the years and have been to many pet stores all over the country…read more And I'm not sure you could find a more knowledgeable person than Dom. He's the owner but is totally hands-on...not just a behind-the-scenes guy. He's right out there, scooping fish, chatting with customers about their pets, giving AWESOME advice about food, treats, medications, whatever you need. Even making deliveries for orders! (C'mon...what owner does that??) This guy KNOWS his product. He's just a really nice, kind, caring person who makes it very obvious that you as well as your pet are 100% happy with whatever you've purchased. So if you have ANY questions about, well, pretty much anything, he's your man. PSP in Somersworth is the only one I've been to so I can't attest to how others are run. And they're all privately owned franchises so they can differ greatly. But however you feel about the others, don't let it sway you from going here. It's always clean, well stocked and it's very convenient (next to Market Basket in Somerworth,NH...tax free! Woohoo!!) It even has designated parking in front of the store. You can even get your food delivered the same day! For FREE!!! There's also a sale rack in front which is nice. Something I learned last time I was in is that anything that is returned but has been opened goes to local shelters. (Love that!) Make sure to go on the web site and get on the mailing list, too. You will get coupons for 10-20% off your whole order and you'll also get points for watching 20 second videos, doing little animal quizzes etc. Points = money so you get up to $20 off your order at a whack. What's not to like about that?? You will always see people with their furry friends in there shopping and there's always a bowl of cool water for them, if needed. I'm not affiliated with this store in any way. I'm just a very happy customer that wants to make sure people know how awesome this place is.

Exceptional customer service, like no other. Makes me feel special every time. The coupons keep…read moreitems much lower than competitors, which keeps me coming back. Highly recommend!

I stopped by here to purchase hay for my two free roam rescued rabbits- just to find them having…read moretwo rabbits in wired cages not meant for rabbits with ANOTHER rabbit in another wired cage stacked directly on top. they also had a sign encouraging the purchasing rabbits based on how long they live and how much hay they eat. no mention of how much SPACE they need. no mention on how much work they take and patience. no mention on how they can be raised as INDOOR PETS JUST LIKE CATS AND DOGS. no mention of the need of spaying and neutering because they have a 75% chance of getting cancer without doing so- no mention of how much water they can drink ( as much as a medium size dog) buying any pet, from a pet store isn't good. I asked them if they keep them in cages all day and the girl said no they sometimes get put into play pens. I also asked if that's the case than why are there two in one cage together ? she told me she didn't know but that they are both males and need to be separated soon. I walked out- didn't purchase anything. I will not support a company that profits off of buying animals from mills and has literally no education on how to maintain them. woof meow in my town stopped carrying animalsfor this reason. it's wrong. there are thousands of animals awaiting to be adopted. do the right thing and promote those animals.
