My husband and I brought a beautiful Collie puppy into our lives this past fall, and I was very interested in training her properly. I was overwhelmed by the options out there and Karen was recommended by a co-worker. I reached out to Karen immediately by email and she responded with a very detailed questionnaire about my dog and what I hoped to gain from her training. It is important to note that Karen trains strictly with positive reinforcement. The puppy manners class we had with Karen consisted of sessions where she came into our home and worked with our dog and us one on one. Not only was she training our puppy, but she was really teaching us how to teach our puppy. Each week we were given homework to work on before our next session with her and we saw as the week progressed how our puppy responded to these assignments. Instead of using punishment or stern words Karen's positive training uses food rewards and a kind patient voice. Our puppy can sit, lay down, come, look, walk with us, stand, give her paw, and roll up on to her belly only with the use of a command.
