From the boutique and high quality toys, homemade treats, and even outfits this store blows any of the "big box" pet stores out of the water. The selection of things range from the necessary to the completely ridiculously unnecessary which is hilarious and I loved seeing some of the items they carried. However, with this kind of high quality often comes a high price. While the prices are not outrageous they will be slightly higher than your average pet store and that fortunately for us isn't a consideration as our little girl is treated as most parents treat their children. You can expect about a 10-15% difference in price with a much higher quality than you'd typically experience (especially in the treats case). The owner was a pleasure to chat with and shared all of his stories of past and current dogs which was awesome to hear about. He also told us about the history of the shop and what drove them to open it. These are good people just trying to fill a niche that wasn't covered previously when they opened their doors, and all three of us will gladly walk through those doors again and again whenever we find ourselves in the Portsmouth area :) Thanks again for the great conversation and Ruby says the treats were delicious!

I love getting my dog's birthday cookies here, as well as other snacks for him. Reasonably priced and they have a rewards program! Well worth it and Ann always has a smile on her face. Pawtsmouth Grooming did a great job grooming my dog, however I didn't hear their text message announcing when he was done as I was distracted due to a work meeting. Totally my fault and I apologized profusely when I picked up my dog 1 hr late. I even provided a generous tip on top of the surcharge I was penalized with. However Jesse was inconsolable and extremely upset, and red with rage. She told my wife and I that we could no longer use their services.....not that I wanted to after that experience. My advice to others is to be aware that she is VERY short-tempered, seems to have anger issues, and there are no 2nd chances. I believe I saw another review from someone named Jesse that described a similar behavior. Whatever you do, don't be late picking up your dog no matter what the excuse.

I asked them if they keep them in cages all day and the girl said no they sometimes get put into play pens. I also asked if that's the case than why are there two in one cage together ? she told me she didn't know but that they are both males and need to be separated soon. I walked out- didn't purchase anything.
