Today our dog, Jessica, had to be euthanized due to severe heart disease. Dr. Rennie and assistants were so nice to Jessica and us. They ushered us into a special room for the purpose. It was decorated in cozy chairs and cushy blankets for Jessica. They made the process calming and quick. We were so happy Jessica was very calm and just fell asleep. The end of life treatment they gave her plus the love and affection that they give my two dogs is nothing short of remarkable. They handled the passing of our cat with such empathy and grace helping take care of the whole family. The staff are incredible, from the front desk to the techs and the doctors. Everyone there has a true love and fondness for every creature great and small. I would highly recommend DVH to any new pet owner or anyone thinking about getting a new pet or anyone new to the area.

We brought in our special needs kitty, Hambone, and they even had a cute sign greeting him! It was so sweet. The techs and the veterinarian were so gentle and sweet with him. They really took the time to get to know him and his needs. I was able to leave feeling super relieved that all of our babies will be in good hands with them. We're looking forward to bringing the whole gang in for their annual check ups!

I have nothing but the highest regard for Dr. Jody Kaufman and her wonderful staff. But there is one particular story that I would really like to call out that happened close to 20 years ago. We had a cat that had kidney problems and had spent a good amount of money on him which was not an issue that baby was worth every penny like they all are. However we also fell in love with another fluff ball from the SPCA. Long story short we brought Oreo in for his free check-up and to Jody the day after we adopted him. He was acting extremely out of the ordinary that entire night before didn't eat didn't use the litter box extra we didn't know if it was just because everything was overwhelming. It ended up at the visit that he had a blockage and required immediate surgery. Jody called the spca and they told her we could bring him back and we were crying. Jody hung up and looked at us and said don't worry I will do the surgery don't you worry about anything. It ended up the poor cat needed two surgeries which her and Dr Bassett from Exeter both did and they took care of everything without blinking an eye. True humanitarians and special people that truly love animals.

We are so glad that we found ORVH to take care of our kitties! We first met them in February of…read morethis year when our 10 year old cat, Jamie, suddenly took seriously ill. Dr. Klemmer and the entire staff worked tirelessly to try and figure out what was going on but unfortunately it was soon determined that he had a mass in his abdomen. The next day we had to make the hard decision to say goodbye. The following month we took our other 11 year old cat, Alex, in for his annual exam with Dr. Klemmer. We explained that we were concerned because he had been vomiting and losing weight lately and she immediately recommended running a senior blood panel on him because the one he'd had in 2022 showed that his thyroid had been borderline overactive - which our previous vet had never told us about. Sure enough, he now has full blown hyperthyroidism. We immediately started on a medication for his thyroid and a prescription kibble for sensitive stomachs and he is back to his usual energetic self and is now at a healthy weight with a glossy coat. Last month we discovered a small lump on his right front leg which we had the surgeons at ORVH remove last week. He is doing very well, and although it did turn out to be a soft tissue sarcoma and may come back down the road we are very confident that with the wonderful doctors and staff like Carl at ORVH he will live to be a sweet old kitty. The best part is that we are now looking forward to bringing a new (adopted) kitty to them in the next few months. Thank you ORVH for everything!!!

Great Bay Animal Hospital came highly recommended for our boy, but our experience was less than…read morestellar. Our dog needed a dental cleaning, and it was completed, but for a significantly higher cost than quoted and we had to return for additional extractions not long after. Same issue. The bill was astronomical. Biopsies were taken from the same area on both visits, but we never received results for the second biopsy, and when I called multiple times I was told someone would call me back, which they never did, which leads me to think the specimen was either lost or never taken. I also received a call while my dog was in surgery asking if we wanted to remove healthy teeth. It should be noted here that the price increased per tooth. The most egregious error was, despite a thorough exam before surgery, the fact that our dog was in early stage kidney failure was completely missed. We lost precious early intervention time and unfortunately we lost him three weeks ago. They claimed he had Addisons disease, but there was never any follow up or a treatment plan aside from the vet telling me "These dogs are hungry as hell". All in all, I regret bringing our lovely boy here, and we will absolutely not be returning with any future pets.

We stayed with them for a while, but we have come to realize are incompetent and in business to make as much as they can from loving Pet owners. We took our Dog there when she was a little under the weather just to have her checked out. They loaded us up with some very expensive meds. We gave them to her and she got much worst to the point that we thought she was going to die. We bought her back to Arbor and they gave us more Meds for her. They just made things worst. We then took her off the Meds completely and she returned to good heath. This whole affair, X-rays, lab test etc. cost almost $1000 and nearly killed our beautiful Dog. Find another Vet!!
