I really enjoyed this place. It has an artsy vibe to it which I love. The pizza is pretty good as well as the drinks.

So, I love Ella's and I don't see that changing anytime soon. That being said, I'm here to lament their recent menu change as I & my circle of Ella's fans were disappointed on our last visit. First, I saw a very different cocktail menu which included none of my go-tos; which is fine, they often change the cocktail menu & I've always been able to find something good. This time though, the menu was lacking in tequila options when they used to have multiple! Next time, I'll try the "bartender's choice" to try to get something like my old stand by the Full Moon Fever. Second, I was saddened to realize that the original stracciatella appetizer was reduced to 1/3 of a bread board, but we tried in anyway. Turns out, rather than the warm, creamy appetizer we knew and loved, it was a cold, chopped version of the same thing. I'd recommend bringing back the original appetizer in its full glory, with the option to add on butter or oil if desired. It's always sad when a favorite menu item disappears...I still think about the zucchini bread appetizer from years ago now, but I thought the stracciatella was safe from changes! Nice looking place and the servers are attentive and friendly. The drinks are well made. The food is ok. The pizza is overpriced. $17 for a six slice pie. I can understand if they are using fresh mozzarella or a wood fire oven. The other two apps we had were nothing to get excited about. Will not be returning. read more

What can I say... this place is yummy! The first time we went we got one of their pizzas, caci de pepe, a salad and some drinks. The second time was a pizza and gnocchi. Everything was delicious. My drink was a little weird and strong (which some might like) but I didn't love the drink. I can't wait til they have a real dessert menu, now it is just one item so we passed. Everything is so fresh and I just want to go back again and again. Be sure to ask for a bread basket for a few dollars to soak up all the amazing sauce on the pasta dishes. Let me start off by saying. Service was 100/10 best service ever! Everyone was nice very sweet. Laughed at my jokes. Now the food, When I tell you this has became tied as my favorite restaurant I mean it. I have tried many items on the menu and it NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! I decided to try Ella's on DoorDash this week since I had never heard of this place before. I am so glad I did! The zucchini bread with roasted tomatoes & sweet corn mouse was the most unique, delicious thing I've had in a long time. I can't stop thinking about it! It's one of the best pizzas I ever had I love that it's thing and crunchy, the flavors are amazing and original.

Stoped in while food hopping in the village today. We sat at the bar which was sectioned off for plastic partition for those concerned with COVID compliance. The bartender was very friendly and professional. He quickly whipped us up some bourbon drinks, one traditional old fashion and a specialty bourbon drink with cold brew on their menu. Both drinks were great. We had the pizza with arugula and figs which was excellent. He kept us engaged but didn't over conversate. This is a skill bartenders should mater before being allowed to step foot behind the stick. We have some light casual conversation with another couple across the bar which is a pleasantry that has disappeared through COVID so that was nice but if normalcy. The menu has many items I would like to try so I will have to get back soon and start sampling. The bartender even comped a started I didn't care for that much without me asking which was really cool. It wasn't bad it just wasn't for me I was happy to pay for it but happier not to. Delicious pizza with interesting choices, nuances and crispy crust. Our server was friendly and earnest. Owners could be more attentive to the flow of service and delivery of food. We ordered a salad an appetizer and some pizzas. Our salad order was placed before we gave the food order so it was delivered before the other items came. Then our appetizer was delivered with the pizzas. This type of service is unsettling as one would expect that an "appetizer" is to be eaten before a meal. The other point is that the table becomes crowded and the diners are trying to eat everything at once. The restaurant was fairly empty and the lag time between delivery of food and appearance of our server was long. Sitting and waiting for a server to come to the table long after a meal is finished detracts from the experience. We ordered gelato for dessert and it was grainy and icy- obviously it melted and was re-frozen. Why serve this? Restaurant owners need to guide their servers into being visible, on the floor and attentive to clients. Also- after eating an appetizer and salad, we would have liked clean plates for our pizza- not to have to eat off of plates that had other food leftovers on them. If the owners of Ella's invested in training and guiding their servers, the dining experience could be at a level that aligns with the prices being charged. Restaurants charging exclusive prices need to offer professional, thoughtful and skillful service. read more

I am a little torn on this review because I want to rate it 3.5 stars, which I would normally round up to 4. But I just can't bring myself to do that. And really, nothing was bad. The drinks were great, the service was also great. But the food was just so mediocre. My wife and I had the calamari to start, then shared the sweet corn agnolotti and pappardelle with pork ragu. The calamari was a heavier fry than I enjoy, and had a slightly odd flavor like the oil was less than fresh. The pappardelle was ok, but I expect ragu to be thicker and meatier. There wasn't a bunch of meat, and the sauce was kind of on the thin side. The agnolotti were bigger than I had had before, but I am hardly an expert, so that's fine. But they had also opened when cooked and had little filling inside. The flavor was decent enough. The main issue with the pasta dishes was the price. $30.50 each for what we got is the main reason I dropped to 3 stars instead of rounding up. Too much mediocrity for too high a price. read more

Weird experience last night. We had dinner here before an 8PM show at The Paramount, and about halfway through our meal asked the waitress for a second round of drinks. She told us the bar had "just closed", even it wasn't even 8PM and the place was half full with diners. A few minutes later I noticed another server carrying a full tray of drinks to another table. I asked our server about it and she said that they bar "may have opened back up", and did she want us to ask if we could get another round. The whole thing totally turned us off and we told her not to bother. Seriously, what kind of restaurant closes the bar in the middle of dinner service?! To close out the night, our server presented us with the check without asking if we wanted coffee/dessert/anything else. One and done with this place - way too many other great restaurants in the area to bother. (PS food is below average - our "medium rare" burger was overdone and tasteless) read more

We visited Ellas on Saturday and had such an amazing time!! It was packed and we got prime realty at the bar. The service from the bartenders Chris & Nick was excellent (especially for a busy night). They were so creative, attentive, and personable. I'm gluten free and usually have trouble ordering out but I tried their new gluten free crust and LOVED it. I got the dark side of the moon pizza and it was fantastic. Everything was so delicious. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The managers were so kind to us. The atmosphere is super cool, it has a rock n roll vibe to it. Perfect place for a date night. read more

Came here with a friend. The mushroom ravioli in pesto sauce lacked flavor. The long sliver of onions in the pesto had no reason to be put in it. The side beets with goat cheese and frisée had NO frisée at all. Just a small dish of chopped up ready to eat beets with a crumble of goat cheese another dish with absolute no flavor nor was the dish as advertised. The waitress was new a bit slow and not very knowledgeable with the menu. Over priced mushroom ravioli at 34 dollars with tax. Do not recommend at all. The others that ordered the spicy cocktails said they weren't spicy though..they are used to the spicy marg at besito. The mozzarella app, meatballs and bao buns were all really good. Last night was the first time trying Ella's. It was our wedding anniversary but took our 3 children ages 9-12 along. We had the wood fired pizzas, grilled octopus and wings. Everything was delicious. First time visit and was very disappointed. Service was so good that we felt rushed. Food was bland and poor quality. (e.g. beet salad said goat cheese on menu yet came with what tasted like bottled dressing; octopus was chewy and overcooked; wings were nothing but fried - like you could have taken them from the freezer bag and broiled them.) Bill came and there was a $4 bar charge on top of each of drinks. When we questioned it, the waiter told us that it's for a double and that the bar automatically adds it so it doesn't seem like a weak pour. Wish they would have asked us first. Went in tonight for dinner and wound up leaving. My daughter requested the corn agnolotti with just butter, no sage, or shallots and they refused. Then she ordered the Nice and Smooth pizza but wanted mozzarella cheese instead of goat cheese. Again, they refused! The manager handled it poorly too. An empty restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday during COVID that recently opened should be more accommodating if they hope to stay open. read more

I'm giving this 3 stars because this place is not worth the money. I came here with my family to try it out! We got the grilled octopus, it was so chewy you couldn't even swallow it. I know this place is tapas but portions should be a little bigger and should have some more bigger options other than pizza. On Friday, 1/8/21 I went on the website to place an order for curbside pick up. There is no option to use a giftcard, so I called to ask if they would be able to take my order over the phone since I wanted to use our Giftcard. I was told no and I could only place an order online with my credit card then at pickup go into the restaurant (which I am not comfortable doing due to Covid) they would then refund my credit card then use my giftcard. I have reached out to the restaurant numerous times via Facebook and Instagram to no avail. I find it not very customer friendly if the only way I can use a giftcard is to actually come into the restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant as they obviously don't value the customer. read more

they've only been open for a month and i've come 4 times because its that good. the cocktails are incredible. they're artistic and delicious. the red bell pepper tequila cocktail and the cucumber vodka cocktail are really amazing. i've tried 3 pizzas and all are so good. its a thinner slice which i like. The home-runs were the Appetite for Destruction (that spicy pork spread!!) and Vintage Collection which is basically spinach artichoke dip on a pizza with the prosciutto not just laid on but chopped up into it, delicious!! The WOOD FIRED WINGS!!!! the sauce is truly amazing i wanted to slurp it up and steal a vat of it. overall, everything really is amazing. the service is great, it's really nice inside and outside. can't wait to come here again and again and again...! read more
