My gf and I went on a double date here with our friends. As soon as you walk in the vibes are on point. Very Brooklyn-like. There's cool paintings on the walls, the music is the perfect volume. Then there's the food which is incredible! We got the Nice and Smooth pizza. It is a sweet and savory type, which you can't go wrong with. Also the cacio e Pepe was a delicacy. Most of the food is tapas style, so it is perfect for sharing. The drinks were good, the drink ledger is very cute. Our waiter, Justin, was super chill and attentive. The only reason I'm giving Ella's 3 stars is because of the manager Mike. I went out with 5 people for an 8pm reservation on a Saturday night. The Resteraunt wasn't too packed but unfortunately the service was horrible. Frankly, the worst service I ever had. The server only came over if you called him over and even with calling him over, he would still forget items that we requested. The manager heard our voiced concerns and comped us. The food is impeccable so I will come back bc I'm a simp for good food but yktv. read more

I was eager to try this place as they're the sister restaurant of Old Fields, which I love. They don't take reservations, but the space is pretty big and there were a decent amount of tables. * Cucumber Salad - calling all cucumber/pickle lovers! You'd love this just like I did - light and refreshing! * Duck (special for the day) - consisted of 5 pieces of duck as well as shredded duck wrapped in a wonton wrapper. The duck was cooked really well, but the sauce they paired it with was a bit too sweet for me. * Blueprint Pizza - the dough was soft and chewy. Pizza was thin and not too heavy which I love about wood fired pizzas! Definitely a nice ambience for a date night, not too expensive either. Definitely has huge potential! read more

Food here is excellent! The service at best was subpar the other night.Our server only came over to us after he was waived down. We had to asked him multiple times for certain items. I would understand if it was busy but it wasn't ! Our server was assisting other tables and even managed to spend time talking to other servers. Our meal took us two hours from start to finish. If our server was more attentive we would have had more drinks. When I requested the manger the server came over instead asking if there was any problems. I made it clear to him we wanted the check and to leave. Even then he took his time. Thanks to the manger Mike for trying to make things right. We will definitely be back to try it again because the food was so good! Just hope the service is better next time. Went there this week to try out the new menu. It was amazing! Such delicious choices and the portion sizes are much better! The orecchiette was very good- light and tasty! The braised short ribs were so tender and flavorful. The El Scorcho drink was amazing! The new manager, James, was present, friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Horrible experience!! What was supposed to be a special 50th birthday celebration turned into a scary experience. We had reservations. When we got there we were greeted by the hostess. She went to check on our table...she came back 2 minutes later asking if she can help us....we told her she was looking for our table!! Ok! We finally sit at our table. A guest I was with has a nut and shellfish allergy. She tells the waiter. He assures us there will be neither of those things on her plate. Sure enough dinner comes she takes a bit and eats a pine nut!! Her throat starts getting itchy and we are starting to panic because this situation can escalate very quickly. Thankfully we ran out to get Benadryl and that worked quickly. The staff was very apologetic but honestly, do better!! Food allergies are no joke. You could have killed someone!!! I have been so remiss in writing a review for this place because I really have enjoyed my time there on several occasions. But what stands out the most is the unique selection of food on the menu. And there are unusual items that are really memorable to like the zucchini bread which is a personal fave. Other stand outs for me would be the fresh mozzarella curds, the nice and smooth pizza with fig (OMG!), and the agnolotti with brown butter and fried sage. Cocktail selection is very unique in that they have a grid listing type of liquor and type of glass next to the description of the actual drink, so if you're like me and you enjoy tequila you can just look directly at the tequila drinks! The vibe is laid-back and so cool. And Ella's has really done well in replacing swallow at that spot. And swallow was my most favorite restaurant in town. One interesting note though, they don't serve coffee and dessert is like one choice. The only reason why I know is because my friends took me here for my birthday and that just seemed strange. AVOID THIS PLACE.....there are so many other better places to eat in Huntington. The food here is way below acceptable. My wife and her cousin both had the skirt steak. It was really bad....no joke....over cooked and not a proper cut. It took forever to chew. Spoke to the waitress about it....then after we paid and spoke to the manager so he can potential correct future meal like this in the kitchen.....he simply said "sorry" but his mannerisms and tone felt disingenuous. I believe the Paramount owns this restaurant.....and it's obvious that no one cares about the quality of food they are serving....unlike the previous owner did when it was called Swallow. Big fan. The vibe in here is super chill and relaxed and seating is pretty plentiful. They have a good assortment of drinks and the food is phenomenal. Definitely try their wood fired wings - they come with this hot sauce on the side where you kind of dress your own wings and decide your spiciness. It's the best hot sauce I've had in a while. Their wood fired pizzas are really big and really delicious. Try the "Nice & Smooth" if you like figs and goat cheese and try the "Catch a Fire" if you like a little spice. I am so impressed with Ella's, what a perfect addition to Huntington's dining scene, and a worthy successor to the long-lost Swallow. Back in the winter, before things opened up, we ordered delivery from Ella's: Harvest pizza with grilled peaches, arugula and lemon ricotta; 'nduja and duck fat butter with bread; beet pappardelle with pistachio and goat cheese; and skirt steak with macadamia romesco. All excellent. This week we felt like dining out in town and strolled over to Ella's. With only a 20-minute wait, we scored a great sidewalk table (which makes Huntington feel so much more civilized and liveable!). Service was friendly but slightly erratic (our app came before our wine, which I had to remind them about) but everything else was top-notch. Nice selection of wines (we had the sauvignon blanc and malbec). Our starter of fried oyster mushrooms with gojuchang mayo was spectacular...perfectly cooked, it almost reminded us of calamari. The Naples-style pizzas are a real star, named after iconic music song and albums (as fitting its connection with the parent venue The Paramount). This time we tried the Devo-inspired Through Being Cool, laden with pepperoni and meatballs. Pure heaven. read more

Got there at 7:10pm without a reservation and had an 8pm show next door at the Paramount. Sat us immediately and got us out right n time for the show. Our waitress was polite and on the ball. Food was fantastic. Beet salad with goat cheese and crushed pistachios in a citrus vinaigrette was such an unbelievable surprise we could have had a larger one for dinner on its own. Very creative. My wife had the Tuscan chicken which was full of flavor. The fingerling potatoes were superbly flavored and cooked. I had the chicken cutlet Parmesan. What a surprise when it arrived in the form of a pizza pie. The chicken was pounded out, breaded, covered in ala vodka sauce (pink) and mozzarella to perfection. Large enough for 3. We loved the Ella's pop up at Old Fields in Greenlawn this past summer, and were glad to see they permanently opened in Huntington. We had take out from them tonight, and were pleased again. Their corn agnolotti dish is solid and tasty--I would order that again. The zucchini bread is also very good--it's topped with corn purée and roasted tomato. It is sweet enough that it really could be dessert. The Stracciatella is good, and definitely worth trying if you haven't had it before. But the one available from Harbor Cheese and Provisions (online) is quite a bit better. The Catch a Fire pizza is a really nice combo of sweet and spicy. I love the thin crust. The wings were done well. Really like this place and are so glad they're permanent now! read more

Love the vibe and food fusion this place offers. Our first time and we absolutely loved it. Also the service was top knotch I believe our waitress name was Christine .. hard to remember since I tried every cocktail practically on their menu but she was super helpful with her recommendations and was very friendly which is always a nice experience. Went to ellas last night, overall it was ok... it is extremely expensive for not generous portions. Husband got salmon which was very small and mostly rice- $35 for a small piece of salmon. Calamari very good but $17.. My pasta dish was okay, pork was very salty and it actually gave me a little heart burn and it also did not come out hot. I did not say anything cause I don't like to complain. Waitress was very nice- hostesses seem very young and not to good at customer service/ making reservation on phone. People near by for the pizza which looked amazing, so if i were to go back- id try the pizza! read more

We were very surprised based on the high ratings that Ella's has received.....so I did a little investigation.......When you spend time going through ALL of the reviews you will see a 1 or 2 star review followed up by a hand full of 5 start reviews.....then you see another 1 star review followed up by....you guessed it a few 5 stars....typically when you see this 1 to 5 star discrepancy, the restaurant is trying to suppress their true performance and falsely bump up their ratings.....don't be fooled by Ella's high over-all ratings. We went to Ella's with another couple for a relaxing Friday dinner. The restaurant is located next to the paramount theatre and has a nice vibe. We started with the stracciatella which came with warm bread as well as the panzanella salad and both were great. We followed up by sharing the nice and smooth and pesto pizzas which were both excellent. We spoke with the manager and waitress about it and absolutely nothing was done about it. This over priced resturant is not worth visiting. Poor quality food and even worse customer service. Our waitress was very friendly and personable, she came and explained the menu well while offering recommendations. We decided to get our own appetizers and share a pizza. I got the grilled octopus, the flavors of the dish were all very nice but the octopus itself was chewy and not great. I had a piece of my friend's short rib and it was super flavorful and tender. We got a pizza that came with ricotta, eggplant, mozzarella, pickled fennel, and chili flakes. It was wonderful! The crust was very crunchy and the pickled fennel added a lot to the dish which I was skeptical about. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant!
