I went to a 50th High School Reunion party last night at this Elks Lodge. It was wonderful! Gina Gomez, the events coordinator did a fabulous job. She was friendly and professional. Enjoyed 3 nights(that's the max). Not all spots can accommodate a bigger rig. No other RV's were there. The lodge had a private party going on one night, but the parking lot was big enough for everyone. Was great to be close to places we wanted to go. read more

I have been to the Elk's Lodge a handful of times in the past, but until just recently, it hasn't been for several years. I will say though, I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing everything was during my last visit. Earlier this week, we had a celebration of life reception, and from the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The food was good, but what really makes the Elk's 5 star is the customer service of the team. WOW! Everyone was so thoughtful, caring, and wonderful. They made sure we had everything we needed. Based on this, if needed, I would 100% choose the Elk's Lodge again. read more

Robin is the best bar tender that I have ever had. She fun and fast and a great person. She has a great personality

We just left the lodge staying 3 days in their RV park. Typical Elks, parking lot style, but very clean and the camp host was super nice! The lounge is clean, has pool table if you are into that. They also have a gym free for Elks. Wednesday nights they have special dinners, reservations are required so we missed out. Not every Friday, but this past one they had food from, 11-1:30. This is a combo review since we are elks members from another California lodge and came into town with our rv, stayed at the elks rv lot and attended a luncheon event during our stay. So we experienced the lodge as an rv'er and their food and bar. Because we travel a lot with our rv, we see the variety of lodges and what they offer. This lodge is in a quiet residential area and is close enough to major attractions. There's plenty of space for your rv and extra vehicle. A nice plus at this lodge is you get a guest access card to the lodge so you can use their gym, bathrooms, showers, sauna and there's a pay washer and dryer in this area, too. The rv spots are not level so your levelers are necessary if your rig doesn't self level. When we visited, the guest bar was under construction so the regular bar was open to us but only on nights they served food which was 1 night of our 5 night stay. This is way more than many other lodges we've stayed at. The views are beautiful when it's a clear day and they have a pool. The luncheon food was very good and service was good as well. Overall, the only thing that was a notable negative is that the gym and shower area needed a good cleaning and the dryer seems to have a mind of its own. The rv hosts are nice and accommodating - willing to answer questions and greet you when you arrive. Again - above and beyond a lot of other lodges we've stayed at. read more

I do not recommend this venue for a catered event. The food is average, the cost is high and the service can be understaffed. The point person to arrange the meal is sketchy, says one thing then doesn't deliver. Make sure to double and triple check the agreement before signing your life away. read more

This is a great organization that does well for our community. I am proud to be a member. The venue has a spectacular view and the food is deliciously prepared. The pricing is fair. My wife and I had our wedding reception there a few years back, but we attend a lot of functions still. I would like to give it 5 stars, but as of late there has been some changes, and not for the good. The is a woman named Robbin running the bar and she is rude and haughty. She seems to have the other bartenders on edge; I've seen and heard her question them rudely and loudly if something is not to her liking; i.e., stocking glassware in a fridge. I have also been a victim of her rudeness when there was a recent event and the bar was jammed. She said, very tersely, "You are going to have to wait to order! I'm too busy!" I thought, Hey lady - Are you kidding me? You are a bartender in a busy lounge! It's an event night! I've never encountered such rudeness at the Elks bar before. Friends have said they too have witnessed her appalling behavior and do not frequent the lounge as often, opting instead for the Moose or the Legion. I don't know or care where she came from, but send her back. Your guests deserve a friendly bartender. read more

Love this place especially for Caron's Wednesday night dinners. What a bargain, so much abundant food offerings for the price. Lovely view of the bay while you dine. Have met so many congenial and pleasant folks here since we became members. Many fine activities and community outreach is excellent. Highly recommend it. We were able to park out 45ft motorcoach without a problem. We dropped our 16ft trailer on the side of lot no one uses. They have water, 30 or 50 amp power and a dump station on the side of the building. Overnight parking is a little more expensive than we have paid across the country but...this is Monterey. It was well worth the $. They have a pool, bar and a phenomenal view. They had a dinner the night we arrived and they were packed. read more

The absolute Granddaddy of Elks lodges....... Reasons? 1) The view from the pool area is one of the most breathtaking views of the bay you'll see. I've been there both during the day and at night and was mesmerized by the views. 2) ....uh...pool? Yep! A huge pool with a Jacuzzi! 3) I stumbled across a heated game of Bocci. The courts are amazing. 4) The lodge is just beautiful and includes a wrap around bar and a "Rat Pack" area. I wonder if Frank and the boys ever had a drink here after a round at Pebble Beach? 5) Most important, the bartenders are warm and friendly and the patrons are also very nice. This is a very charming Elk's lodge. The design is definitely 70's with a couple of new updates. The killer thing about this place is the view! From the ballroom, you can see all of Monterey. The staff is amazing! The bartenders were friendly and fast. Each of them went above and beyond to make sure that their customers were satisfied. The dance floor is giant! Perfect for a good party with a good DJ. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you were considering throwing a big party. Great views + Great staff + A lot of space = Awesome party! read more

Held our company holiday dinner here, everything was great. Vista Events & Catering was incredibly easy to work with; had very creative meal planning suggestions, and were really nice about working within our restricted budget. The food was excellent, our staff was very happy. The venue was very warm, and they let us decorate it how we wanted. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient; the bar was awesome; what more can I say. This is a great lodge with great people & nice facilities which include 12 RV parking spots w/50 Amp & water. A dump tank is on site. The spaces are a little close together but it worked for us. Don't have an event here Caron from Coastal Cuisine will over charge you, may even double charge your elderly and NEVER REFUND THE MONEY! The Elks can't do anything about it! My grandparents had their 70 anniversary there. GOT DOUBLE CHARGED BY $6,000.00 and Caron has still NOT REFUNDED MONEY. A YEAR LATER! Criminal! So sad we as Elks let someone like this service our Elks! We even have the proof via bank and credit card statements the money was never REFUNDED! Sad we as Elks allow criminals to contract with us. Please pardon my venting right now. I'm legally blind. I try not not to make a fuss or bring attention to myself. Many of my friends and associates don't even know because I try to make my life as normal as possible. Tonight I went to the Monterey Elks 150 Birthday dinner dance. I was having so much fun. Dinner was served and the lights went out. After a few request to turn the lights on during dinner they turned them back on. A few minutes later the lights went back out. I have problems seeing in the light, but I can not enjoy my food when I'm in the dark. I can't see what I'm eating and that makes my food not enjoyable at all. My husband, god bless him went and requested that the lights be turned back on during dinner. I'm not talking blasted, but dim to enjoy the evening. The caterer told him the Exalted Ruler had requested that the lights be off during dinner. So as I was not able to eat my meal the dessert was being brought to the tables. My friends at our table were done eating their dinner and dessert and starting to enjoy the evening of music and dancing and I still had my dinner in front of me. Shame on you Monterey Elks. Benevolent and protective. Walk the walk and talk the talk. What I experienced tonight was a mask. There are laws to protect Americans with disabilities. If it's the exalted ruler who demanded the lights stay off, maybe you should feel how hard it is to live with a disability. Thanks for messing up my night with my good friends. The Monterey Elk's Lodge is great. Food and beverages are priced right and very satisfying. The members are friendly and staff treat you with respect and love you like family. There are several activities throughout the week including lunch and dinner meals. Other events include Bocci Ball, the Gym where you can get a nice workout and of course the huge swimming pool with with an unbeatable view of the Monterey Bay. There also is a nice BBQ area and patio to enjoy. It is wonderful to see so many friends at the Wednesday evening dinners. The Elks Lodge is decent, however Vista Events Catering is a MAJOR rip-off!! Don't book through the Elks if you are having a wedding reception here. The Vista Events lady, Caron, is totally unprofessional. We paid $700 for her catering services, however had to cancel the wedding, 7 months before the date. The Elks graciously returned the $900 deposit promptly. Caron will NOT return any correspondence to resolve the deposit. read more
