My husband and I got married at The Perry House on May 2nd, 2026 and it was the best day of our lives! We had an intimate group of 34 which felt perfect at The Perry House (though they can certainly accommodate much larger groups than ours). The venue itself has so much coastal charm already that you don't feel overwhelmed with needing to infuse a lot of personality through decor. At the same time, it can still be transformed with florals and any additional decor elements. It was truly the best of both worlds. Our venue provided coordinator Alyssa was fantastic to work with! She answered so many of our questions and was always quick to respond over email. The catering provided by the venue was phenomenal and all of our guests raved about the food. We went with the New York steak and tarragon crusted salmon as our entrees and they were even better than we remembered at our tasting. Since we had a small guest count we even got to add on a slew of extra desserts to reach our food and beverage minimum and additional decor/rental items which was great because it felt like every dollar went towards something. They were even accommodating to our specific signature cocktail requests which were off-menu and our specific NA beer requests. Everything the day of the wedding went smoothly and without a hitch. We cannot recommend The Perry House enough to anyone looking for a charming, Monterey wedding. read more

The Perry House is beautiful, the food is incredibly delicious, the staff is amazing and most of all, our day-of coordinator, Jennifer D. was fabulous! From the moment I met her, I knew our day was going to be spectacular. All my worries went out the window. She made sure every detail I envisioned came to life. She is sincerely kind and loving. The night went seamlessly and if something was wrong, we never knew! Truly enjoyed the event and working with Susan. From the experience of searching, to the tasting (which was more like a feast), to the day of- we are truly thankful and appreciative of the Perry House team. The food and drinks are PHENOMENAL and was a big deciding factor. The venue is gorgeous and center to so much in Monterey. We recommend this venue too if you have kids attending! We got married at The Perry House in July 2023 and had an amazing experience. The first time I saw the venue, I fell in love. It has so much character (which is a huge plus because you don't need to do much decorating) and an intimate feel. The setup of the house is pretty cool! The ceremony is outside (they have a really nice arch), and after the ceremony, that space is converted to dinner seating. There are two levels in the house, which makes it easy for those who aren't interested in dancing to have a more relaxed conversation. One note is that because there are only stairs and no elevator, it may be hard for disabled or older folks to get around. The Perry House handles all food and beverage needs. Our guests absolutely raved about the food and the signature cocktails. There is a lot of variety with different budgets - definitely go to the tasting if you can. The Perry House also provides a day-of coordinator, which honestly felt priceless. They help with planning certain things, but they made the whole day run smoothly. I didn't feel one ounce of stress on my wedding day, except for typical wedding jitters. The only hiccup I had was that we hadn't heard from our coordinator in a few weeks, and we were getting close to needing to submit our guest count. It turns out they had left the company, and we had a new coordinator, but they had the wrong email address for us. It seems like that could have been avoided, but it all worked out. We ended up having a relatively low guest count and needed to fulfill the food and beverage minimum. We were able to add on extra food (late-night snacks) and upgrade our appetizers. We were also able to use the extra budget for rentals such as chargers and nicer chairs. This is awesome because I have seen people complain that their venue doesn't let them do this. It definitely helped us feel like we were getting great value. Overall, it was an amazing day, and we loved our venue. The food was a definite standout (get the ravioli!) but the venue itself was gorgeous as well. After getting engaged I knew I needed to do a lot of research and try to secure a wedding venue as soon as possible. After finding The Perry House I knew this was my dream venue. The location, the house, the outdoor space, the VIEWS - this was it! My event coordinator, Susan, was very responsive and helpful from day one. Being a COVID bride meant dealing with a lot of unknowns and lots of changes in rules/restrictions. I'm so grateful that we were able to keep our original wedding date and that things went so smoothly and turned out to be the best day ever. The hardest decisions to make were which food items to choose, as they were all so delicious! We pulled it off! When we started planning our wedding almost one year ago we thought we had found our dream venue to host our 120 guests for a night to remember. As anyone reading this will know as 2020 progressed we became more and more familiar with living in a pandemic and the challenges that can provide. Once it became clear that there was no way we could host our wedding as we had originally intended; our event coordinator Amanda from the events by classic group could not have been more helpful providing us with options. She of course offered us a 2021 date should we choose to postpone, but instead we chose a different option she presented to us that would both make our guests feel safe to attend and satisfy our needs of a special day to remember. We held our ceremony at The Perry House followed by a small dinner reception in the beautiful courtyard at their sister venue the barns at cooper molera. The perry house is such a beautiful location for a ceremony and I'm sure the reception there would have been great as well if we chose not to go to the barns. It was impossible for me not to shed a tear as my bride began her walk down the perry houses's staircase. Everything turned out so beautiful, and we all had such a wonderful time. The food and drinks provided by the events by classic group were stellar, and I could not speak any higher praises of Amanda, our event coordinator. She kept everything on schedule and really brought our dreams to life. When I found the Perry House when searching online, I knew it was love at first sight. From the beginning, the communication with the venue was responsive, professional, and insightful. When we toured the venue, it really was love at first sight to us and the guests we brought. We instantly booked the venue and started the planning process. Just had my wedding here and it was even better than I dreamed! Susan was so patient with me and accommodated all of my crazy! :) we missed the tasting but were fully committed by that point. We are from NYC but decided to have our wedding in Monterey because it is so beautiful and has special meaning to us. We looked at three venues in the area but once we saw the Perry House, we knew that was where we wanted to celebrate our wedding! The layout of the house and the style of a "roaming reception" made it easy for us to spend quality time with all of our guests. Our wedding day was perfect and stress free. We hired Richard to be our "day of coordinator" and I am so thankful that we did. I did not have to make any decisions the day of the wedding. Everything fell into place without me having to stress at all. I just relaxed and truly enjoyed the day. When it came time to eat, Richard brought us each a plate with everything that was served. Because we planned from across the country, we never got a chance to attend any of their food tastings to plan our menu. We just trusted the reviews we read online... and they were right! The food was delicious. We did a grill station with Salmon and Steak and the Brick Oven Pizza. We loved it all! We had our ceremony and reception at the Perry House. It was great having everything in one place and not having guests getting lost along between events. We used the ipod dock and created a playlist of our favorite music. The sound system was great and the guests really enjoyed the music. In terms of value, I found the Perry House to be very reasonably priced and a good value when you consider the quality of the venue, the staff and the food. We are so happy that we had our wedding at the Perry House! We were in excellent hands with our event planner Amanda throughout the entire process. When we visited, we were impressed by the venue's location and how nice the space already looked, even without any extra decorations. The PH put together a delicious menu that accommodated the various dietary restrictions we had (vegetarian bride, guest with gluten allergy, nut allergies, shellfish allergies...). We had multiple people tell us after the fact how tasty the food was. (Which we can confirm, because the PH staff made sure we got our food first, and actually got to sit down and eat!) One of the other reasons we chose PH was the flexibility of the space. We didn't need to worry about having too many (or too few) people RSVP "yes", as the PH could accommodate up to twice our expected party size. We ended up with 68 guests which felt like a comfortable amount. The many different "spaces" throughout the venue were also very appealing to us-- we wanted to make sure that people who wanted to talk and catch up could do so without having to shout over the music, and the people who wanted to dance all night could do that too. Overall, we are incredibly pleased with our decision to go with the PH, and that Amanda was there to walk us through the process. The Perry House was perfect for my wedding. We had about 80 people but with all the beautiful sections it never felt empty. Between the heaters and fireplace we were always warm. THE STAFF WAS AMAZING. I was very stressed through the whole process and to be honest kind of a bridezilla haha and the planning staff could not have executed the wedding better to make it stress free for me. We have a wedding scheduled for June and have been told that we cannot postpone without paying another nonrefundable deposit despite initially being told they would allow us to postpone without penalty. Obviously, most of our guests have cancelled their travel plans and nobody expects this to happen in June. Curious if anyone is having problems dealing with rescheduling given the current shutdown orders. Executive Order N-33-20 from the state of California does not provide an expiration date of May 10 contrary to what ownership says in the reply to my post. We contacted the office and were in touch with Erin. She suggested we come to a tasting and we were able to bring our maid & matron of honor as well as the two best men and our niece and nephew. The kids played outside while we dined and toured the home. It was a gorgeous Saturday in Feb 2016 and the house and venue is absolutely gorgeous! You can see the bay from the second floor balcony and breathe in that fresh beach air. The home is well kept and the backyard is so charming, magical and cozy. The stone fire pit was a huge draw, as was the stone pizza oven and the beautiful carriage house. The owner was also there and we chatted with him about wedding venue searching and he was so professional, and funny. When my brother asked him if our dog could be at the wedding even if for just the ceremony his response was something like "Of course he can; he can even stay for the entire wedding I mean he is an important part of your family." My husband and I were both sold and we immediately booked. Contracts were easy to read and detailed with everything that we needed and wanted for our wedding day. Erin was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. We live in NY so it was important to have contact with someone who would keep us in the loop and also keep in touch with our team in CA. The day of the event was great. My father was able to come onsite and do some work in the kitchen (he is also a chef and wanted to prepare & provide fresh fruit cups for the reception). The home was set up so beautifully and we brought our added touches as well. The vendors were all professional, the food was delicious, the music was amazing, everyone was A++. All of our guests commented how dreamy, magical and beautiful the venue was. The weather was beautiful for a Friday the 13th in January. The fire pit was a big draw for our guests as were the nooks and crannies of the venue. The string lights added a cozy element that we really wanted and seeing all of our friends and family who traveled from all over was just breathtaking and such an indescribable feeling. TPH is new, quaint, well located near lodging and a very good view. This is not just a huge room on a golf course with your standard fair. There is an outdoor pizza oven, a fire-pit, two bars and staggered levels to divide up the experience that makes it a fun place. You know; appetizers on one floor, dancing on another, a brides room with a place to lie down if need be, and cozy little places to chat by the fireplace. Best suited for smaller weddings, parking is a paid lot immediately across the street, and weather can be a factor so consider the time-frame carefully as it can be on the chilly side. They have outdoor heaters that help if you are dinning on the patio. The food was above average for a wedding in quality, service and temperature when served. The location is good for out-of-town guests to wander the streets of Monterey and explore the history, visit the Wharf, or just sit in a hotel room overlooking the Bay while reading a book and sipping on some hot tea. Golf is very near by and plentiful. One of the best Bay-side walking trails you will ever experience, not to mention the Monterey Bay Aquarium just a jog away from downtown. We had a great time at this wedding and recommend it for groups of about 100 or smaller. read more

In preparation for our August 11th Wedding, my fiance and I came into town for a bunch of appointments with our vendors last weekend. I was getting my eyelashes done and didn't know that the appointment went over an hour late. As a result, we were super late getting to the Perry House. It was unintentionally incredibly rude to Mary Lisa (Perry House Events Coordinator with Events by Classic)...but this woman, she is a true professional! She was all smiles and didn't rush us with the details. She is the best! What a great person!...and I am sooooo sorry to have done that to her! I'll update again after the Wedding. Update****** The Wedding was wonderful!!!! Everything went exactly as planned, Mary Lisa & the staff exceeded all expectations! They were professional and available at all times and handled every small detail with perfection. Our group of about 100 people flowed wonderfully in this space. Because this was a previously a house, people were able to gather in separate small areas while still remaining close. This unique feature added a lot to the experience. What a blessing this venue was - we booked about 9 months out. My coordinator was Erin, who was AMAZING!!! We had lots of unique ideas, as well as a non-traditional wedding with vibrant colors and decor. They were easy to work with and I did most of my coordination via email; with an on-site tasting and follow-up visit. The owners, god bless their hearts, made various accommodations for us given the series of unfortunate events which transpired 6 days pre-wedding. Without going into details, my wedding was falling apart before my eyes!!!! Erin, my coordinator Mandi Nack and the owners all stepped up to make sure my day was special and amazing!!!! Our wedding/reception was a brunch buffet and in the January (off-season). Now, not the typical wedding, but it kept costs lower for us and allowed for the venue to maximize some of our details with out too many additional fees. If you are on a budget, consider a brunch wedding. My guests loved it and all commented on how unique and different it was. The week before the wedding we had outrageous challenges come our way, the rain prompted the need for a tent and ceremony venue change at the very last moment (2 days pre wedding). Erin was smooth and coordinated it quickly, assuring me everything would work out. To be honest ladies, the tented ceremony and later reception looked better then I think it would have, had I gone with my initial ceremony on the beach/park. Look at my pics - it was stunning!!!! The food and drinks were great, with the buffet being lighter and people were not too stuffed to dance. There are so many great pairings!!! You can have full plated meals OR pick light foods that do not leave your guests feeling bloated/full. We chose a combined host/no host bar, which was great; as most guests did a majority of their drinking on us, ha ha. But, the house wine was enjoyed by many guests, saying, "the house wine is normally not this good at weddings"!!!! Lastly the venue itself is spacious and delightful. We had in/about 90 guests and with the tri-level venue, carriage house and porches ............. there was more then enough room. The parlor was especially nice for the kids and older guests to hang out and feel comfortable. It was also very spacious for me and my bridal party, as we got ready in the bridal suite/parlor - great natural light for makeup, hair and pictures. The chef, service staff and EVENT CAPTAIN, were very attentive. Not only to me and my guests, but my other vendors on site. Which was important to me too, as I wanted EVERYONE at my wedding to have time to eat, drink and enjoy the day. The Perry House is an amazing venue. It is fairly cost effective compared to a majority of the other venues in Monterey. Truth be told this was the first venue that we checked when we were planning our wedding and immediately knew we liked it very much. It has a very warm and intimate feel which is exactly what we wanted. It was easy to imagine us there on our wedding day. Fast forward to our actual wedding day at the end of July 2017, it was more than we could have imagined. The sample pictures that we were shown of the potential set up did not do this justice. Leading up to our wedding day we could only have an idea in our head of what the reception set up would look like. But everything was absolutely gorgeous. We opted to have the chandelier and string lights added to the decorations in the garden. It was a great touch without being over the top decorations. It looked very beautiful at night and lit the garden area just enough. We had 118 guests which was the perfect amount. The max is 130 so we almost had a full house. There are many places that the guests can go inside Perry House. Upstairs has a bar and a living room/sitting area that walks out to a large terrace that overlooks the coast. Such a beautiful sight! If you have both your ceremony and reception here then you can use the Bridal Suite upstairs hours prior to the start. Since we got married on the beach we didn't need this option but the entire wedding party was able to go in the suite to freshen up before we made our grand entrance. My husband and I had our entrance from the top terrace. We walked down staircase that led to the garden/reception area. The fire pit near carriage house was a hit with our guests. It gave them another area to socialize with each other and enjoy their drinks. The carriage house also had a bar and this is where the food was set up. We chose the menu that included the use of the brick oven outside during cocktail hour. The music and dancing was inside which made it perfect because it was away from the tables. So if you were inside you were there to dance. All in all we and our guests were completely satisfied - the venue, the food, the set up, and the ambience. A majority of our guests kept complimenting us on our choice of venue even after the event. I still get praise for our venue selection months after. To me the best part was when I looked up and I recognized everyone. We have a personal connection with every single person that was there. Being a small and intimate venue allowed us to keep our guest list small and meaningful. We just had our wedding last month at the Perry House and received so many compliments on how wonderful it was. Most received compliment was the amazing food. The organization of everyone at the venue left me with little to stress about. Susan was just amazing even with my last minute changes. All the staff working on our special day were very professional and everything ran smoothly. Our day fell on a week of rainy weather. Luckily only showers in the morning but we still decided on using the tenting option. It was very beautiful with the chandelier and lights. If you have to tent, don't worry one bit. Think twice about booking here. My son and daughter-in-law booked a wedding for October of 2020. This turned out to be in the hight of the pandemic so they needed to move the date to a safer date. They chose a date in June of 2021. But Perry house was unwilling to move the date until others who might want that date (at that time they had NOTHING on their calendar) they would have to wait and see if it was available. In addition the demanded additional deposit. My kid thought about it and decided to forget the Perry House. What if the pandemic were still around in 2021 they would need to move again. They lost their $2500 deposit. The kids decided to move to mission Ranch who had no problem with any future rescheduling. As it turned out they needed to reschedule to 2022 since back in February it wasn't clear if guest sizes would stay restricted. The way Mission Ranch dealt with us was fantastic compared to The Perry House. Think again before u consider these people. They are all smiles when you book but their true character came out load and clear. read more

The staff and wedding coordinator Beverly were amazing. I am SO happy we splurged for this venue. Our wedding was perfect. This place is organized, and they do not drop the ball, on anything! The communication was epic as well. When people say just elope it is so much easier, I cannot tell you how many times I thought about it. Reviews do no lie! All the staff at The Perry House + Classic Events are kind, helpful, organized and focused on making everything go perfectly. We were married at The Perry House in October 2014 and it was literally the best day ever! From the tastings to planning sessions with Erin, every detail is thought out! We live in a different state and planning from afar was a piece of cake. It looked like rain the day of, so we tented the yard and it still was beautiful and perfect! When we arrived at the venue the day of, my grandmother could not find her sunglasses (her eyes are very sensitive) and one of the team members took off THEIR OWN sunglasses for her to use. These are the little details that make The Perry House + Classic Events the best, THEY CARE. We still have people tell us it was one of the most fun weddings they have been to. We had the perfect, carefree, fun + delicious(!!) wedding we wanted and it is all thanks to the awesome staff! We just had the most AMAZING wedding at the Perry House!!! The entire staff was dedicated to seeing our event through and making sure it was even better than we imagined. Our coordinator, Susan, was extremely prompt and helpful during the entire planning stage of the wedding. I think when I first put in the inquiry to find out more about this location, she had responded to me within 15 minutes! I was skeptical but that level of service was present for every communication - whether virtual or in person. I also have to mention how amazing the food was! Our guests are still talking about how good it was three weeks later - seriously that never happens for wedding food! This is a dream venue! I don't even know where to begin. This was the first venue we saw and we immediately knew that this was the place we wanted to hold our wedding reception. We worked with Susan throughout the process and she was also our day of coordinator. Susan was so great! She immediately responds to any questions and/or concerns and was super easy to work with. I honestly don't know where to start but to say that The Perry House is amazing! My husband and I had a list of venues to visit in the Monterey area when we initially started planning our wedding. The Perry House was our first and only visit. We absolutely loved this intimate venue. From the beautiful foliage and flowers throughout the back garden to the Carriage House to the view of Monterey Bay from the second floor balcony. We had the absolute pleasure of having Erin Wareham as our main point of contact when we booked The Perry House in March 2016. Words don't do Erin justice... She was so, so helpful throughout the entire planning process. We also hired Erin as our day-of coordinator, which my husband and I agreed afterwards was probably the best decision we made. She decorated everything the way I envisioned, made our ceremony and reception timeline run smoothly, seamlessly worked with all our vendors, and catered to our every whim on our special day. Without her, our wedding day definitely would not have been perfect. Other Yelp reviewers have talked about the food, but let me tell you, it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding [and I'm not being biased ;)]. One of the main reasons we selected The Perry House was because all the food is made onsite. Also, The Perry House has what it calls an "Experience Station," which is similar to a buffet, but a staff member actually serves the food. For our appetizers, we selected the crab cakes, chicken tostadas, and gorgonzola and pear pizza. I can't even pick a favorite as they were all SO delicious. For our experience stations we selected the carving station with prime rib and the grill station with rockfish and chicken. Everyone raved about the food, but all our guests talked about was the incredible prime rib (and how many times they went back for more). We elected to have cupcakes (from Kara's Cupcakes) passed right after dinner instead of a cake, and later in the evening had milk and cookies served by The Perry House. The cookies were warm, gooey, delicious, and the perfect way to end the night! Lastly, I just wanted to mention that the entire staff at The Perry House was truly fantastic. We chose another venue (The Old Whaling Station Adobe), but The Perry House was our first choice. This review is from e-mails and a meeting we had, not an actual wedding. ***Affordable & Accommodating The best part about the Perry House is that you don't have to worry about anything. They take care of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception setup and cleanup. They are also one of the few places that have no corkage fee or cake cutting fee, but they do have a liquor license and provide wine and champagne at reasonable cost (the best part is you only pay for what you drink). I personally always wanted an outdoor wedding, but it can be difficult with the elements and unpredictable Monterey weather. The Perry House has top grade AstroTurf so it's always green and ladies heels won't sink in. They provide several heaters so you can enjoy the dinner under the stars without freezing. If it rains they do have the house as a backup or two tent options (a clear tent that is more expensive and regular tent) so that you can still get married outside with the amazing view of the Monterey Bay and Wharf. Since the kitchen is on site, they can accommodate surprise dietary needs of the guests. They assured us that our guests will be taken care of as well as the vendors who will also be fed. The people there are also extremely professional and always respond in a timely manner, which is a must for frantic brides. They are willing to work with you and are always friendly and genuine. Our wedding at the Perry House was absolutely perfect. We got married at the Perry House this past April. Our peace of mind coordinator was Richard Wood, who took the reins after our previous coordinator moved out of the area. He was purely and simply excellent at his job. He had a way of making us feel that everything would work out perfectly, and it did. We had a last minute (as in 10 minutes before the wedding) change to the procession and he didn't even blink. I think what makes a coordinator wonderful at his job is when everything works but you don't even know they're there. That was Richard. He was a marvel. Every single person who came to our wedding raved about the food. We had the roaming reception with about 90 people. I was concerned about people (1) waiting in line, (2) not having enough to eat, and (3) not having enough places to sit. I was, as in most aspects of life, wrong. They just do a good job here. They know how it works. The pizza and grill stations were perfect. My only regret is that I didn't box up a meal for after the wedding. The waitstaff was also excellent. Nobody waited for longer than 2 minutes at the bar, and plates were cleared almost immediately. Everyone was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond. The property itself is just so unique and it's great that you have it all to yourself. Another great thing is that this is a location that includes everything you need. I can't imagine having to like pick out chairs and silverware and all that. Again, the Perry House made our wedding perfect. I couldn't recommend this property, or Richard Wood, highly enough. I am a wedding photographer and I photographed a wedding at the Perry House in March 2015 for the first time. This is also the first time I've ever been so inclined to write a review about a venue I've worked at. The Perry House is a gorgeous property... but what made it so impressive to me was the incredible staff. As a photographer, we are often low on the priority list when it comes to the staff at weddings. While it is very standard to serve vendors at weddings last, this is a struggle that photographers face. We have a very important and time sensitive job to do. Eating last, means we have wasted time while the couple and guests are being served (no one wants photos of themselves shoveling food into their mouths), and often have to inhale our food because by the time we are served (after shooting all day we are just as starved as the guests) events begin again that must be photographed. So IF we have time to eat, it's rushed and we aren't able to finish. From the bartender, to the coordinator and the waiting staff - we were treated with such care and concern. They understood the importance of everything we needed to do, worked with our time line - and SERVED us at a wedding that was buffet style. I have NEVER had staff at a venue be so generous, friendly, accommodating and truly warm. This is not to say that other venues are horrible by any means... eating last is standard, and although it can be frustrating, we understand rules and abide by them like anyone else. It was just truly mind blowing to be taken such good care of when we are usually treated as "the help." Thank you SO much to everyone at The Perry House. As soon as I set foot in The Perry House, I knew that this was where I wanted to get married. It's a beautiful and historic Victorian, restored to perfection. The venue can host a bigger event, to a more intimate one. My first point of contact was with Richard, and he was with us through every step of the planning process; he really put us at ease, and the peace of mind he provided us was worth every penny, especially with us living so far away. The entire staff was consistently professional, courteous, and attentive, and our Event Captain, Jennifer, and then later, Grace, took great care of us throughout the day. They have this wedding thing down to a science! They made sure everything was how I wanted it, and made my husband and I a priority, constantly checking in with us, making sure we ate, and keeping our drinks replenished. The food was DELICIOUS! You are required to use their caterer, but have no fear, they get down in the kitchen! We had the roaming reception, which entails small plates, but trust me when I say that there was more than enough food to go around, and our guests raved about the food, with some saying it was the best food that they have had at any wedding. If you are a bride looking for that special venue, I beg of you to give The Perry House a visit. You will not be disappointed with them. Everything was top-notch, from day one.
