My husband and I were just married here and feel confident that this is the best place we could have chosen! We had roughly 130 guests in the end and the owners Judy and Rhett worked with us and our vendors to make sure that we had a perfect floor plan to accommodate everyone. Entering and walking down the stairs with my dad was so special! The warm outside concrete benches and heating elements that were brought out in the evening kept everyone toasty who wasn't dancing, and the sprung floors inside the sound studio were a joy to dance the night away on! We were able to fit in a music jam session toward the end of the night and made arrangements to be able to stay until 1am! If I could do it all over again right now, I would do it all the same! Thank you Judy and Rhett for being so wonderful! Anyone reading this, you need look no further if you're looking for a gorgeous, conveniently located, flexible venue which allows you to choose your own venders, has a completely fair/reasonable rate and is run by kind and communicative owners! -Rachael

    My favorite patio in Monterey!

What a wonderful venue, my friend and I just enjoyed the soap box stage works women's play and had a glass of sparkling white wine from Big Sur Vineyards. The heated bench was a great way to relax after the show. I'm excited to see more public events in the future!

Just attended a wedding between an old friend and a new. Rhett Allen Smith and his staff made their day and mine, a truly memorable experience! Excellent, in the most extraordinarily excellent meaning of the word. Find them on YouTube! All kinds of music, art, conversation, debate, yoga, still reading? Why? Find them on the line. Visit them on historic Cannery Row. Stop in for tea, coffee and a tasty treat! God bless you and may God bless Wave Street Studios and Rhett. All the best, Rev

    Wedding Reception March 21, 2015

We had our wedding reception at Wave Street Studios on March 21st. It was a complete success! Let's just say the DJ commented on how the reception lasted for over 7 hours and his average reception is usually about 4 hours long! The building itself is a beautiful venue, the location is within walking distance to Cannery Row and several hotels - not to mention the bike path is right off the patio. There is a wedding coordinator there that is more than willing to help with anything you need from event rentals to DJ packages (at a great price!) and beyond. The owner Rhett is a nice, easy going guy who was a pleasure to work with. Most venues are very strict about what vendors you have to use and time limits for decorating and cleaning up but Wave Street Studios was very flexible and as Rhett stated "It's your wedding!" I would highly recommend Wave Street Studios as an event rental venue.

Our wedding at Wave Street was perfect and intimate

Great coffee and beautiful architecture. They have heated cement seats outside, which make it great for a cold day.

I will just say this was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, no one was there. When the greeter did come, she hesitantly approached us and handed us a paper printed menu in a dark, empty restaurant, which immediately felt off to us. When our food was served, several items were served cold and lacked flavor. The catfish was barely seasoned and watery, while the chicken had this "special" barbecue sauce but no taste, the Mac and cheese was straight from a box, and was gummy like, and the greens tasted super watered down. The cornbread was extremely hard, and there were white particles floating in the water. Even basic items like the salt container were unusable, sticking to the container. The owner spoke with our group and hyped the restaurant up, but the food and overall experience did not match what was coming out of his mouth. I also noticed everyone else received cornbread with their meal while I did not. Assuming it came with the meal (since me and my brother ordered the exact same thing) I was later charged an extra $6 for it without being informed. Based on the food quality and overall experience, I won't be returning. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.

She was super personable, down to earth and enjoyable to interact with before, during and after. She made wedding guests feel comfortable when shooting their video commentary which helped add humorous moments to the occasion and captured all of the special moments in unique and creative ways. She processed edits timely and flawlessly and produced an excellent final video presentation. Fast forward 15 years after my wedding, my father (Daddy-O) who walked me down the wedding aisle passed away suddenly. I wanted to incorporate portions of my wedding video that show my Daddy-O smiling, dancing, laughing and living his best life into his memorial slideshow presentation, however, I got divorced and couldn't find my wedding video. I contacted Peri in hopes she still had it, and she was able to confirm within a matter of minutes that she saved my video footage. Peri provided a test video for me to download to make sure it was compatible with the video editing software i'm using for my Daddy-O's slideshow. Once I confirmed it was a compatible file type, she provided a secondary high resolution file to download, all within a few days which will help me complete my father's slideshow presentation in time for his memorial. She was extremely helpful, down to earth and just sort of got it. She makes modern wedding videos that don't go on for hours, and finds the most touching, poignant moments. Truth be told: I was not 100% sold on a wedding video, but my mom (a psycho-therapist) told me it was a good idea for years to come of how we felt on that day. I'm very glad we did do the video because it captures the day's emotions in a totally different way than still photography and with all the excitement of the day, its hard to remember every detail (or impossible otherwise to see different perspectives).... and our wedding was only a few months ago! I really appreciate Peri's genuine/ positive/ caring attitude, there is nothing pretentious or high pressure about her. She is extremely responsive and present. These characteristics are important in enjoying the time we spent together, around our guests and to getting the best, most authentic wedding video. Peri obviously loves what she does, she listens to clients and provides a great end product. We will enjoy our wedding video for years to come!!
