First time here, Sis and I just walking in the area. The gentleman who assisted us provided subpar customer service but was definitely more engaged with the larger table across from us, I'll leave it there. In either case, Nate came in and was absolutely amazing. He didn't even take our original order and was so friendly and personable. Ordered a flight with 2 sparkling and 4 white ($30) definitely good value and Sis was pleased overall with the selection. She loved the sparkling and even considered buyers by a bottle. They make the sparkling off site but it's there's.
Nate was super friendly and patient with our somewhat boisterous group of 6 ladies & our token male after a bit. Charcuterie offerings were perfect and fresh. We all did tastings, each slightly different. I personally did not care for Pinot but my friend liked it. Cab was on point. Grenache was good. Malbec and Tannat were my favs. In house chocolates were amazing! Make sure you get these to go with your wine and don't wait until you're almost don't like I did.
The wife and I were visiting Monterey and the aquarium. While riding the trolley we passed this business so we decided to stop by on the next trip. I was intrigued by the idea of blending our own custom wine. So for $99 you get to samples 6 wines and then decide which 4 varietals you would like to use to create your blend. We chose Grenache, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. We experimented with different percentages of each. They give you beakers and tools to make it easy to pour exact percentages of wine. We came up with 2 blends that we liked and paid an extra $45 for the second bottle. Overall it was a really good experience and really fun to do. Pricing is a little high though.
My fiancée and really enjoyed our time here! It's really cozy and intimate and the staff were so friendly. We walked in and sat down. It looked like a group was doing some sort of more in depth formal tasting or event in a different room, looked like they were having lots of fun! Right away the staff were warm and welcoming. Gave us lots of recommendations on what wines to try but he was also so sweet and gave us lots of recs for restaurants to try for dinner since we're from out of town. We each did a 4 pour wine tasting for $20. They're served in test tubes which I thought was cute and saves a lot of room on the table. My favorite was the vognier, def on the sweeter side but I loved how fruity it was. We also had the baked Brie with apricot pepper game which we inhaled lol. Served in a cast iron skillet so it stays warm a bit longer. Also has the pretzels. Honestly, you can skip this. Queso was good but it's not memorable.
Nice little wine bar with small bites in the Cannery Row area. They had some nice wine choices and beers. Charcuterie and flatbreads and other snacks. Wine flights in test tubes which looked a bit bizarre but was popular! Good service with only one person working when I went. I went with a glass of their Brut which was slightly sweet for me , and their sourdough pretzel with Dijon mustard. The pretzel was nice and warm and the mustard had a great kick. Nice little gifts available too. I liked that it had groups and just solos having a glass of vino at the end of the day. Cozy feel.
They have blankets. Texas girls in California. Really cute place. Quaint and simple. I ordered the flight: Zinfandel, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon. The Zinfandel surprised me--fruit forward and jammy. Nice wine. The Syrah was easy drinking. The Malbec had a great finish. The Cab was interesting: mint and chocolate. Weird. We also ordered the baked Brie which was okay. I prefer my Brie with a baguette, but alas. The gentleman that works there (or maybe owns it??) was very friendly.

We heard it was a great place for first timers however i would say it's more for people who have an idea of what they're looking for. We didn't know much about wine and were kind of ignored at first and when we asked about the wines (we were clueless and it was pretty obvious) the guy helping was kind of short with us..which is okay because he started talking to us after our drinks. I would probably stop by again and give it another chance!

The wine experience was my favorite accidental discovery! My MIL and I were on the hunt for a tasting room while my little one napped in his stroller. I honestly was super interested in trying this place but I was so wrong and am so glad we popped in! The flights are served in 4, 6, or 8 pours and you can pick and choose the wines you want to try. They are served in test tubes while full pours and carafes come in beakers. I tried the Chardonnay, Viognier, Rose, Pinot Noir, and Cab Sauv. I actually had the rose twice it was so good. I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed each pour. The man working suggested tasting the Viognier last as a dessert wine and that was a great call. He was also so sweet and attentive without being overbearing. It seemed he knew some of the regulars but treated us equally as kindly. We loved the atmosphere and how fun it felt overall. I can't wait to return soon!
We wanted to check out another tasting and especially since this place was right across the hotel. Fun place with unique tasting test tubes, games and small bites. Wine tasted good along with the spinach and artichoke dip and pretzel. Service was quick and friendly. The vibe is fun and relaxing especially on the comfy couches. I'd like to come back here next time I'm in town.
Wine was good. The moscato wasn't my favorite tho, but other wines are very flavorful. I love the service here, they are very friendly and know how to take care of customers. Will come back.
We decided to try this spot out while we were staying in the hotel across the street. The wine tasting experience was great! It was a very pleasant experience and the guy helping us was funny and helpful. Ambiance is beautiful because you're in Monterey. The wine choices were delicious. We weren't able to stay to buy the zinfandel but we're hoping to buy it when we come back in the next few months! read more
On the way to cannary row and stumble upon this place. By then, we were already pretty full so did just 4 tastings (pinot noir, melbec, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc). Out of the 4, preferred the melbec which the lady recommended. They have a couch were we sat and they do have some games to play if you want. read more

Such a nice little spot to enjoy a glass or a flight of wine. We stayed on Cannery Row in Monterey, and The Wine Experience was right across from our hotel making it the perfect stop. Their small plates pair perfectly with the flights. The pretzel was cooked perfectly and served with a homemade mustard that was easily one of the best I've ever had, definitely ask for extra. The staff was engaging and welcoming taking time to answer any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will absolutely stop in again next time we're in town. read more

We decided to do some impromptu wine tasting on our last night in Monterey. We had a 2 year old and 3 month old and were accommodated wonderfully. The owner sat us at the large table towards the back which was perfect with littles. He was very informative, kind, and personable. The snacks were delightful and the wine was delicious and fun in their test tube tasters. The boys enjoyed their beer as well. Overall a great experience! Kudos for having a large TV with the game on! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area read more
Can I say love love love this place! A wine enthusiast in wine country suggested this charming place. Oh, it did not disappoint me. The décor is warm and welcoming. I love the vibe I was getting. I adore the cozy lounge area, which was made great for a relaxing wine conversation with locals and tourists. The background music was a nice touch because it matched the character and ambiance floating in the air. The character of The Wine Experience. The selection of wine is broad. The wine was good! I like the idea the wine was presented in glass tubes. I pretending to be a mad, happy scientist mixing my potions. The range of appetizers were excellent. First time going wine tasting here, and I loved it! They have many options, from doing a 4 flight up to doing an 8 for tasting. What caught my attention was the tubes they brought the wine in! A unique way of serving wine. The spot is very relaxing to hang out with friends and try some wine together! I will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend checking it out! read more
Ok, only here a bit while waiting for food. But during the day, NO BARS or places to grab a drink were open when I went, this was in April during Covid stuff so figures. This place is doing it's very best! We just got in for our honeymoon and we saw this place walking to Cannery Row and decided we were going to get a cheese flight to go later to stay in our hotel to pair with some wine we brought. We ended up coming at about 7 PM because we were told they close at 8 PM. The guy was running around trying to do his best to accommodate his outside guests plus us! It was just him...which I'm sure is due to the shut down that there's less staff at any given time. We told him no rush, we're on island time during our honeymoon. We went in after another couple to check out their merch and ended up snagging a bubbly wine stopper since we can't finish a whole bottle of bubbly when it's just the two of us at home. We also bought a Violeta Portuguese Port for $40. I'll have to update with his name, but the server was great! We'll be back to actually sit sometime and make our own wine! read more

They have about 15-20 wines to chose from in this nice wine bar in Monterey. We got a flight of 8 wines to try. Some came in glasses others came in test tubes with labels nicely presented. Price was pretty reasonable when compared to what you pay for a glass of wine in a restaurant. When you get the wine in test tubes you can also blend your own. They said that if you create a blend you like they can make you a bottle. You better keep track of your blend percentages for that to work. I would have rated higher except two things. One, it can get really loud in here. Something about the acoustics so that when you get 6-8 people talking at once you can no longer hear the person across the table from you. Secondly is the place is a bit too dog friendly for my comfort. There is a large couch, several easy chairs, and a few tables. We came in and someone had their large dog laying on the couch such that no one else could sit on it. They guy with the dog was standing over with another group of people chatting away oblivious...and the staff present also oblivious. Of course its the business' prerogative to provide space for dogs as they wish....but ... it was very weird and off-putting to me and I have the same prerogative not to spend my time there as well. read more

Cool concept and nice ambiance a little off the main cannery row area. Eric made our experience lovely by being so sweet to our doggo, Jax. Jax typically takes awhile to warm up to others but Eric gave him dog Cheetos and won Jax over. The experimentation was interesting but we didn't make anything great so the wine itself was not on par with actual wineries but I guess that's on us for not knowing how to blend wines. We got a flight of 8. I wouldn't come back just for their wine but if you want to have some fun and experiment, this is a unique spot. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 3.8 but went up to 4 cause of Eric's hospitality. read more
