He got back to me right away, drove by and gave me a fair quote to remove my tree and the wood, plus grind the stump (after utility marking). Not the least expensive, not the most expensive, but he is licensed, bonded, insured and has a boom truck. I also want to mention that Wesley, his foreman, is so experienced. He operated the boom and did all the high cuts. He was so careful about watching for traffic (I'm on a busy corner), where his guys were on the ground, etc. The team did a fantastic job, were fast - done in under 2.5 hours - and cleaned up nicely. I needed two trees cut due to them being too large for the backyard in a spot too close to the fence/neighbors. I got six different estimates and Elk Grove tree service had the most reasonable quote. Steve also used his laser pointer to identify the problem areas while he was giving the quote vs just pointing at the sky like other companies and me trying to figure out where they were talking about. We called to have our trees trimmed. They were able to just top off the tall redwoods and remove the other trees on the side yard. Contacted Elk Grove Tree Service to get an estimate on 2 trees in my front yard. One tree is very close to the house with branches all over the roof. The other tree is very close to the street light/street sign. Within a couple days Josh called to make an appointment for the estimate. He and Steve came out and evaluated the job. I was thinking about having the tree by the house removed. Steve said that would not be necessary and that they could trim off all the lower branches to get them off the roof. I called for a quote to cut down my crepe myrtle tree which was consumed with aphids and way too much honeydew sap that was dripping on my new house windows and my sons car. I got an immediate response and the owner and his son came out the next day. They were so nice and professional and gave me a great quote. They even said that crepe myrtles should not even be planted here due to this issue. My tree was too big to treat and was not doing well.
