Hate writing bad reviews. Tony agreed to trim our Oleander running along my back fence but basically quit the job an hour in and wasted a month of our time ensuring he would come back to finish. I contacted Tony for a quote and he asked me to text him a picture of our Oleandar that runs along our back fence. I sent the picture and he quoted me $800 via text which I thought was low because the last time I had it trimmed it cost me $1200. But it was close, tree trimming quotes are all over the place price wise, and yelp reviews said good prices, of course I agreed. He asked me to pay in cash, which I'm good with. This meant I went to the bank to pull out $800. When he more than doubled the price and agreed to $2200 I had to go back to the bank to pull out more money. So two trips to the bank for this guy not to mention a third trip back to the bank when he decides to throw in the towel on the job. Waited a couple weeks for him to have time. When he showed up for the job he immediately starting complaining about the job which was annoying since he decided to provide a quote via text without even seeing it for himself first. He slowly started raising the price as he continued to complain about the job. It got to $1600 and I still said sure just do it. A few more complaints later and he was telling me $2200. I wanted the job done before Christmas so I agreed. I was super cool about it, just wanted it done. So on the scheduled date he and his partner went to work for about an hour or so and then tapped out. More complaints about the job being too difficult for him. He told me he needed to get another guy, 2 wasn't enough, and again giving in I'm like sure get your other guy, let's do it. He said the other guy can only work on weekends, it was a weekday, and it might take a couple weeks for him to be free. Again, I said sure Tony, let's get it done. Before he left I asked him if he was sure he even wanted to do the job, his complaining made me feel like he couldn't do it. He told me "I never quit a job, ill get it done." I was reassured by his comment otherwise I could have immediately called someone else. About a week or so goes by and he randomly texts me from a different number telling me he can't do the job and I would need to get someone else to do it. Not even a phone call, just a text from an unrecognized number. Really diassapointed, I was giving in for everything he asked for. The last guy that did the job there was only two of them and they did it in less than 8 hours. Tony wasted a month of my time and quit an hour into the job. Assured me he would come back and do it and instead flaked on me even after he more than doubled the initial quote. Just bad business. Unprofessional. Seemed like a nice guy, had good equipment, fellow 9ers fan, but left me high and dry with one tiny section of my oleander looking butchered compared to the rest. read more
