Went for a full set acrylic Saturday, I didn't like the shape but the technician said there's nothing he can do. By Sunday the nails were lifting around the cuticle and cracked edges of the tip on both hands. I called and requested a refund on Sunday and the gentleman said no problem I could get a refund. Went today for the refund and the same technician said I could only get a refund if he cut them off. I agreed and he decided to cut the tip incorrectly and cracked the nail into my nail bed. He also stormed off once I expressed my concern and I had to cut them off myself. You can see the nails were already lifting from the cuticle. Unacceptable. Save your money. read more

I have been to Elite a few times now for acrylic balances. They are conveniently located on 5th avenue in a little strip mall, and though the parking lot can be chaotic at certain times of day, I always find a spot right out front. I recommend making an appointment because they do get busy, but each time I have done so I was seated shortly after arrival. They have lots of gel colors and good pedicure chairs, in the typical setup. They always seem to have a sense of urgency and the customer service has always been great for me. I tend to have fun and funky ideas, and they are always happy to try things out for me instead of hesitating and questioning it. Last time my full set with gel polish and chrome on top turned out well, and the shape was PERFECT. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes. I am really really picky about shape, so this is huge, and that's a pretty good amount of time for a full set. I also got a pedicure. The most recent time I went back, I just needed a balance and then gel polish over top. I had one broken nail that she had to remove and repair and I had budgeted an hour for myself for the appointment. I'm not sure of her name, but the nail tech who worked on me did my full balance and repair in 30 MINUTES FLAT! It was absolute madness and shocking to behold. And on top of it, her shaping was almost just as perfect as the last woman I went to. My balance + repair was $65 with card (+$10 tip), which is definitely on the pricier end, but for the consistency of the work there, I'll still go back. Pro tip on tipping: They only accept cash or venmo for tips, so plan accordingly so you don't leave your nail tech high and dry. read more

Getting my nails done at Elite Nails was such a nice self care treat. This nail salon is a Vietnamese family run business and they are so sweet! They have something for everyone. From gel X to liquid gel and dip to acrylic. They're pretty affordable too! They also have a huge selection of colors. The only thing I was really weary about is cleanliness because tools weren't cleaned right in front of me but seeing tools being sanitized is my preference. They're very knowledgeable and know how to work with crappy dry hands like mine. Loan did a really good job with the art on my acrylic set. They're in a plaza with ample parking. read more

Based on Yelp reviews I tried Elite Nails while on a trip to Columbus. I arrived with time to pick out a color. The shop was busy. I checked in at the desk. The man who checked me in pointed to a desk behind me and told me to pick a color. I found one I liked but when he came over he told me that was for gel so I picked up the dipped colors to choose one and he said he would find one to match and I should come get started on my old color removal. He set up the removal items on a dirty towel and I asked for a clean one. He then had a different tech come over to do my nails. I again asked for a clean towel-none was provided. I was going to leave then but I was already halfway thru color removal. He brought over a color that was way too light. I reminded him that my color choice was more taupe and he hurried off and brought back a darker color. It was not right either but he insisted it was. Needless to say it wasn't right. It was pink! The nail tech was very rough and injured my cuticles with little nicks which took days to heal. There were no Covid precautions in the salon. That should have been my first hint. I'm used to plastic screen between tech and client. And masks. Not a good experience on any level. read more

I have never in my 25+ years of getting my nails/ feet serviced seen a nail tech use the pedicure bowl for disposal of used tools. She was practically throwing used objects beneath my feet. I had to move from objects being tossed, so that I didn't get caught in the cross fire. While receiving my service I'm literally watching trash float in the pedicure bowl beneath my legs. It was the most unpleasant experience. I was very respectful, quiet, and observant. When others came in that they were familiar with they were kind too. The nail tech tried to talk me into gel nail explaining that I wouldn't have to spend anymore time there as if she wanted me to leave as soon as possible. I declined because i didn't mind getting regular polish and waiting for my toes to dry under their nail vent. I made time to enjoy getting a pedicure and it was far from that. First time and I might add my last. Made an online appointment and got seated a few minutes early. Asked for basic pedicure and it included a massage with lotion and a hot towel supposed to be 30 minutes. Well, there was no massage of feet just calves and it was 3 minutes tops. The hot towel was one for both legs didnt cover the back of the calves. The entire session was15 minutes. And the technician talked in her native language laughing and carrying on with her colleague the entire time. NOT RELAXING AT ALL. Terrible experience won't return. read more

I typically go to this nail salon because it's close to campus and the people are pretty nice. However, the most recent time I went to get my nails done, I was charged a ridiculous amount of money. I'm a broke college kid, and I felt seriously taken advantage of. This nail tech that overcharged me was not one that I usually get. Once I find her name I will post it. I only asked for an acrylic fill in (no tips) with the French on top. This should have been $59. However, when she rang me up, the total was $75. I was confused, so I asked her to break the price down. She honestly just made a bunch of stuff up that I couldn't understand so I just paid and walked away pretty upset. One thing I could understand was that she charged me $11 for AN ALMOND SHAPED NAIL?! I didnt even ask for this service, and honestly that's an outrageous price to pay even if I did. I called the salon a few days later to resolve the issue. I first asked what the typical price would be for what I wanted, and the owner said $59. THEN, I explained what had happened, and how I was unfairly charged. He put my nail tech on the phone with me and she kept saying "I told you the cost after I finished your nails! Why didn't you say something then?" To which I replied "I did say something when I asked you to break the price down, and I'm saying something now." She then dismissed me rudely and said she was busy so she would call me back later that day. She did not ever call me back. I called the salon back two days after this and complained again. I was upset because I do like this salon, and I would hate to stop going just because of one rotten apple. They ended up just giving me $5 back, but I'm still pretty pissed about the $16 bucks I lost for no actual logical reason. Overall, be careful who you select to do your nails. Make sure that you ASK the cost will be before the service is performed, or else they'll just make random stuff up to get another $5-$10 out of you. read more

I got a new stay member and she did an awful job and did not even care she was so rushed. Every staff member is always rushed, ALWAYS. I asked her to get the extra paint off my nails 3 times and she said she would at the end but I got gel?!!!! So when she put them in it hurt. She also did a terrible job drilling off my gel and made me healthy nails so thin and one actually broke today. She drilled my real nail and it burned and hurt. I paid $45 for a gel "color change". It was so shitty and I went home and had to file all off them and wait for the white polish around it to come off. The French she did is also ugly and I asked her to fix it she did not. Not even nice about it and had no problem charging me $45 for literally work of a 5 year old. I could have done it. My nails were bumpy and uneven. Went for homecoming and now I'm wearing press ons! The owners kids are also everywhere, they bumped into my chair multiple times and messed up my nails. They just run around literally everywhere and come up to you and mess with the nail stuff.
