I had such a great experience at Amelia Nail Spa! They recently came under new management but kept the previous business name. It's now a small family-owned business, and you can really tell how much care they put into the salon. The place is super clean, beautiful, and welcoming. I absolutely love their nail designs--they're so detailed and always turn out exactly how I want. Their pedicures are amazing too and so relaxing! Everyone is friendly and really takes their time to make sure you're happy with your nails. Definitely one of my favorite nail spots. I went in for my initial appointment for an overlay fill with nail art...I was utterly disappointed. I did not receive a proper manicure, my acrylic was not properly drilled, and the art was that of an inexperienced nail tech. I had to go, so I did call back the following morning and request that I got a new service provider to redo my nails. When I came in, I got Tiffany. I had an appointment scheduled for 6:00 p.m., but I wasn't helped until 6:45. Once my nail technician finally started my appointment, a walk-in customer arrived. The customer even offered to come back the next day since she didn't have an appointment, but my technician stopped working on my nails, told me I would have to wait, and began doing the walk-in's nails instead. I found that very unprofessional, especially since I had booked an appointment in advance. There was also a major miscommunication about the color and design I wanted. I left with nails that looked completely different from what I had requested, and I was charged more than I expected because of the design I ended up with. I asked if there could be any discount given the delays and miscommunication, but my request was denied. Overall, the service was disappointing, and I won't be returning. read more

At first, the menu options for a pedicure seemed overpriced. However, after having received the pedicure, it felt expensive but worthwhile. The place is clean and the service providers were kind and did a great job. It's the neatest, nicest polish job I've had possibly ever. It is a very clean, very nice and cheerful place with large tv screens, if you are interested. We each had different people, and they were both very professional and friendly: Kim and Suzanne. Literally have never been to a place more horrible. My dip extension literally had air bubbles in every single nail. Water was getting under my nails and the reason why I got dip extension was because of weak nails. The girl who did it took a while, when Thomas came over to help out and showed her how the smoothness wasn't there, that took a while too. I appreciated that Thomas was helping and tried to make sure my nails were rounded. I don't think she even knew which polish was which when activating the dip because I kid you not I had like 7 layers of activator on my nails. Just look at the picture. I spent 2.30 hour there. Went a couple of years ago but didn't love it. Received a text a few weeks ago offering $10 off a combo service so I thought I'd try it again. Checked the hours, says they closed at 8pm. Read the website, picked out which services I wanted ahead of time. Called to book an appointment for 6pm, figured that's be enough time for the express pedi and a dip mani. Came in, things looked a little different due to COVID but that's fine. Asked to pick a color, then was asked again, and again, and again. Didn't like being rushed but okay. Guy also pretty much insisted that I get the smoothing pedi instead of express. Sat down for my pedi and a second person started drilling/smoothing my nails?? I tried to joke it off saying I thought we'd do that after the pedi (like most places do) but he said they were closing at 7pm tonight. Reminder: they're not supposed to close until 8pm, I made an appointment in advance and was not advised that it might not be enough time, and he coerced me into a longer pedi. He did begrudgingly stop working on my nails. The pedicure was fine, but not typical. Massage was short. She did things in a strange order. No moisturizer or anything before the hot towels were applied, etc. My toenail polish chipped the next day. Today is day 4 and they honestly look awful. Was very surprised that at the end of my pedi, they sat another girl that was a walk-in and did a whole set for her, even though I was being rushed saying they closed at 7pm! Manicure was okay. And I did pay for the dip mani, not just mani. No massage, no lotion. Never had me wash my hands in the middle of things like they usually do for dip. She cut my nails extremely short. Did not clean underneath or around the nails. I had to go home and get out my own acetone to clean it up. Music was too loud. Two male employees clearly were done and wanted to go home but were just goofing around and making too much noise. Was supposed to be a nice, relaxing night but felt on edge the whole time. Very disappointed by the chipping pedicure. Overall poor experience. In response to the owners nasty comment: I did review the website, hours and services ahead of time. Nothing mentions closing at 7pm, nor was it mentioned when I called to book. As my review said, I paid for the smoothing pedicure, instead of the express that I wanted. Will change to 1 star instead of 2 based on the owners very immature attitude on not only my review, but on others. Not a good way to run a business, shame. read more

I am so disappointed!! I have been to Amelia several times... until yesterday! We had appointments. It took 20 minutes past the appointment time to start. The pedicure was okay.. until I go home and realized the paint job wasn't good. Might I add I had to locate and put on my own pedicure shoes. I was mostly put off by the owner. His work station and the one beside him was extremely dirty... nor did he clean in between clients. He did a rush job on my nails. I pointed out that there was polish around my cuticle: he told me he would drill it out. He finished and came back, he had moved my wallet and phone and let fr my shoes. Don't touch anyones wallet!!! I paid $170 (2 pedicures and acrylics w/gel). I walked outside and realized the thumb nail on my left hand still had polish under the cuticle. I went back in... the owner, who did my nails tells me that there is nothing he can do. I say yes you can as much as I paid! He uses some liquid to get it off. I asked if it would mess up my mail; he says no! Soon after I realized the gel on that nais uneven... I am big on customer service. Excellent pedicure even at the basic level. Open on Sundays! Massage chair worked well. Lovely space. Take credit cards. Masks and other safety protocols in place. Organized color choices. I ordered the most expensive pedicure and have asked this girl doing my pedicure THREE times to use more pressure on the massage because she was doing it so lightly that it tickled. She has not said one word to me the whole time and does not respond when I ask something. She hasn't smiled and one time when I flexed my foot it touched her forearm and she jumped up like I'd poisoned her. I asked her at the beginning not to file one mail because it was really short, and she kept doing it anyway. Oh, and we had an appointment and still waited 25 minutes for our pedicures. I wrote this exact same review on Facebook, but they were so good I needed to review them on more than one platform: You know that feeling when you get a really great hair cut or a brand new outfit that you just NEED to show off? Until today, I did not think it was possible to achieve that feeling from a nail service. I seriously can not stop looking at my nails, I have sent pictures of them to all of my friends and family and I just want to shout it from the rooftops that this is the best salon I have EVER been to. Now, the service I request is quite basic (as far as I know) and you may not think that it is possible to mess up, however years of average to bad experiences have proved otherwise. Amelia Nail Spa has opened my eyes to excellent service and outcome!! Thomas, the owner, referred to himself as "the doctor" after I gushed to him about how impressed I was, and I completely agree with that. I was a little disappointed after leaving my appointment the other day. As I entered there were specific notes and instructions for a healthy safe encounter which I was happy to see. A man greeted me, asked me what I would like and I told him a basic pedi nothing special. He asked if I wanted gel and I said no, just basic polish basic everything. After the pedi he got my bill and it came out to be around $45 which I was confused because I asked for the $29 pedicure. I asked him why it was higher than what I ask for since I got the basic, he said well I gave you a massage so that's extra, I told him I didn't ask for that I just asked for a basic and he said well I'm sorry but that's what it is since I gave you one. I was polite and said okay next time I guess I will have to be even more specific and make sure you guys won't charge me for something I didn't ask for. I was baffled, I usually go to Lovely Nails in Hilliard and it's $34 for a massage and soak and regular polish, I will continue to go there instead. I always get my nails in the coffin shape and many salons haven't mastered that. They did it perfectly!
