I went with my best friend on a Friday afternoon. I got the older lady - she was stomping around and seeming annoyed. she was super rough - I pulled my foot away in pain twice and she rolled her eyes. Then she massaged my feet for only 2 minutes. She pulled my pant legs down over lotion that wasn't even rubbed in. Like - my legs were still white and she pulled my pants down over the lotion. The nice younger lady that was doing my friends nails had to finish my service by doing my gel Because the older lady just up and walked away. Then my gel chipped off after 2 days. I called twice to confirm how much a dip manicure was & to make an appointment. I expected so much more, with the location being right in the heart of downtown Powell. Parking was extremely difficult..since they only have a couple parking spaces out front, the main parking lot to the left is for Local Roots only (a restaurant next door). So if you can't find front parking, you will have to find street parking around the downtown or other parking lots and walk over. The inside was very dirty, I actually couldn't believe my eyes. They haven't updated anything in years and it was just so gross. I am shocked it has lasted this long in Powell with the cleanliness & customer service alone. The woman in there was very nice. They seemed very disorganized though. I was switching between 2 nail techs left and right. It was so confusing. The man was honestly the most rude customer service person I have ever dealt with in my 28 years. He reeked of cigarette smoke, was sick. I was waiting for snot to go on my hands with how sick he was. I mean you shouldn't deal with customers at that level..stay home. He did a horrible job with my nails. He left hangnails. Did not care at all. He didn't give me a manicure, which I booked the appointment for, he glared at me for many seconds before huffing and puffing about doing a manicure on me. He also said it would be an extra $10.00 for the mani. But I said the lady on the phone said it was $50.00 for everything. So nothing was aligning. All he did was clip my cuticles. No hot water soak, no lotion, nothing extra at this place. I just wanted an awesome night with my mom & we didn't get that. You bet I will never be back. We called and asked if they had availability for two gel manicures. They said yes so we came in and had to wait 45 minutes before being seen. We each finally had our gel nail polish removed and we told her we no longer had time for the manicure. She charged us $42 just to get the polish removed. Very rude and unprofessional read more

This was the worst experience and outcome I've had at a local nail salon (and there are so many around here). I went for mani/pedi and it took 3.5 hours. Which would be fine if THREE of my nails didn't chip in the first three days-- and this was dipping powder which is resilient and shouldn't chip for weeks. I only went here because my usual place was closed that day (at the place I typically go my nails *never* chip and only grow out as can be expected). To add insult to injury, I didn't notice until the end that the gentleman working with me was streaming the whole appointment on some social media site the whole time. He didn't ask ahead of time or even tell me. You couldn't see my face on screen but presumably could hear me talking about my job etc. While not illegal, this is highly unprofessional. They offered to fix my chipped nails but I don't even want to go back (oh, also, one of my nails was bleeding afterwards too...). I'm just going to take the L and go back to my normal place when they grow out or totally chip off-- whichever comes first. read more

So I'm a sucker for family owned business (which this place is) so I liked it before walking in- but they did do a great job on my nails! Got gel for ~38. Service was split with one of the younger employees doing the cuticles/initial shaping and the final gel being done by one of owners. It did take a very long time as we came in with a group of 3 and there were only two people available and everyone was busy- BUT despite this they spent time on my nails/asked my opinion/suggestions and I was very happy with the final outcome. Overall - great outcome but long wait. Could probably hire more staff but I'd rather the good quality than quantity! read more

Honestly I never write reviews, but I'm truly shocked how this place has 4 stars. I am super easy going, but this place was awful. They were so understaffed that people were walking out, even after having their feet soaking in the pedicure chair. They were out of every color I wanted (note I asked to a basic light purple, then a light pink and then another light pink) to the point where I just asked for a clear duo to do a color French with gel... and my clear dip was pink so no French was going to even look good with it. They also charge extra for almond shape and gave no discount for not having any colors. Not to mention the actual inside was old and they were playing tv shows from the early 2000's that kept glitching. read more

If you walk in, be prepared you may have to wait, as she has a small staff, but she owes her best to accommodate and it boils down to if you want a good polish or a quick one. I'm a 41 y/o male who has never had a manicure or pedicure in my life. My friend and I decided we wanted to try them. He had massive amounts of dead-skin to be removed, I just wanted to be pampered. :) When we walked in everyone stopped and stared I felt so uncomfortable at first. then one of the ladies broke the silence asking us what we needed. We told her we were early for out appointment and she set us up in our chairs. The lady that did my feet did a really good job, but she really didn't talk at all. She seemed like she wanted to just do the job and move on. Maybe it was the end of her shift, who knows. I wouldn't have thought anything of it except the girl who worked on my buddy was very chatty and personable. My friend had his five year old daughter and they bother were very sweet to her. The reviews were right, I did have to wait a little when I walked in, because they only had two people doing mania/pedis... however they kindly offered me a massage chair to sit in while I waited and a bottle of water. The Gel mani service was very professional and he made sure that he put a third coat on the necessary nails (so many places try and get you out the door, cut corners, and then your color/coat is uneven/not solid). The most impressive thing was that my nails are currently at day 22 post mani and they are going strong! I'm still getting compliments on them! read more

I had an appointment at noon, got in right away for my pedicure, but sat in the chair with my feet in the tub for a good 20 min while the only 2 people working that day were busy helping others. Because there were only 2 working, my pedicure and manicure felt rushed and "Half assed" . I probably could've done a better job with a pedicure! And my manicure was ok at best. He brought over a bowl of water to put my nails in to soak and it was extremely hot, when I told him, he acted annoyed to cool it down. Disappointed and I will not be going back. read more

Again! Another place I have driven and walked past many many times and finally one day I caved and went in. And very happy I did! The place is way bigger inside than what it appears outside and there is no "product" smell about it. Big plus for them for me right there! One wall is lined up with the massage chairs for pedicures and the other side has the manicure tables. They do eyebrows in the back and are currently upgrading the area back there to eventually do massages. And the entire staff is very friendly. Another big plus was that when they offered me a beverage - wine was one of the offerings. YES! The massage chairs were something else! You can leave them on as long or short as you like and this is the first time ever that I was in a chair that actually massaged your butt! That was a bit strange but ok. They do good work here at prices no more expensive than any other salon and they don't charge you extra depending on what brand the color is. But one of the best things was that lotion. It was a lavender and jojoba jobbie that smelled soooo good I think I am going to go back and buy a bottle from them. I have found the place to go from now on for my mani/pedi's. read more

I first tried this salon well over a year ago, and chose it because it was in a great location in downtown Powell. I was VERY PLEASANTLY with the size and open concept of this salon! It is MASSIVE. Quaint little salon in old Powell. They take walk-ins, but it's probably best to make an appointment. The salon itself is super clean and beautifully decorated - really sets the tone for a relaxing environment. However, even with an appointment, my standard pedicure took 70 minutes. Eek! I'll likely come back, but it's good to know that I need to allocate a substantial chunk of my afternoon to an appointment. If I could not give a star I would not. The woman who did my pedicure took the skin right off my toe. Literally a gash and acted like it was my fault. No apology or act of kindness at my bleeding foot. She then sprayed my foot with alcohol and kept trying to dip it in the dirty water! Then, to top it off she smeared my polish when putting on my shoes. I told her not even to fix it I could do it better myself. Um no thank you! I have been to many nail salons in the Powell area and never have had such a great job done on my nails. For the first time I have absolutely no problems in between appointments. I have gone there three times in a row for balance of my nails. I can only say every time the way the nails are shaped and polished is perfect. I will never go anywhere else. I was immediately impressed with the fact that it forgoes the chincy strip mall look and opts for sky-high ceilings, bamboo green walls and relaxing music playing quietly in the background. My mother lives in Powell. Every time I come to visit, we go here. This is the cleanest nail spa I have ever seen or been to. The chairs are luxurious and the staff is friendly and warm. Went in there for the first time today after having a bad experience at my old regular salon, Haven, when it switched owners. Little did I know the old owners went to Orchid after selling their salon! Although neither of them did my nails today I was still VERY happy with my service and the salon is cleaner and more relaxing than most. They looked busy so I'd recommend making an appointment but I didn't see them even turn a single walk in away or make them wait long. DEFINITELY my new go to salon!!! read more
