Okay.. so I want to start off by saying that the woman who did my acrylic fill in was very nice, and took her time to try and do a good job. However, her technique was severely lacking.. I went last Saturday (10.14) today is 10.18, and this is how they look, four days later.. While I was getting them done, I noticed that she wasn't shaving the nails down to the air pockets in order to properly fill them in. Specifically, my right thumb nail (as shown) was literally lifting off my nail. I had to tell and show her this multiple times before she started cutting away the part that wasn't attached, and then she decided to attach the leftover acrylic to my nail with NAIL GLUE.. I was pretty shocked. I'm not a professional nail tech, but I've been getting acrylics a loooong time and have never had this experience. As you can see, there's still a massive air pocket, and more already forming on that nail. She also shaved my cuticles down to nubs, making me bleed in multiple areas, that are still scabbed over four days later.. the kicker was that she was about to go in with the small cutter to remove the cuticles (which I already don't like, because it results in the fraying you see here) but I told her not to, while I wondered in my head what on earth she was about to cut off, cuz she had already shaved my cuticles down to nothing! Additionally, the nails were filed wayyyy unevenly. I don't want to offend anyone, but it seemed like she had never used a nail file in her life :( As I went up to pay, I showed the woman at the front desk. The best she could do was tell me to come in the next day and they would fix it for me. Not only was I not available, but I also just.. didn't wanna go back. And I still ended up paying full price for these, and tipping.. I would've still given a tip regardless, but I wish I had insisted on not paying for these, because the experience caused my physical pain and mental anxiety during, and after the session, and the result was wildly inadequate. I hesitated a couple days to write this review, because I wasn't sure if it would resolve anything for me- my nails still look like garbage, and I'm still out $85.. so Idn, maybe this will help someone? I really used to love this place. I have been going to this salon for over a year now, and I would have Andy do my gel full sets. Unfortunately, he does not work there anymore. When I called to book a gel full set and a gel polish change on the toes, I specifically requested someone that was good as Andy was. To my surprise they gave me the complete opposite. The girl who was doing my gel full set, did not know what she was doing. She tried two different methods on my nails. The first one didn't work, so she switched to another method. At that point, she lost all my trust. She was so nervous that she was visibly shaking. I used to work as a receptionist at one of the top nail salons in Atlanta, GA, so I couldn't just sit there and let her mess up my nails without saying something. My nails were all different sizes, lengths, and shapes. I requested an almond shape with a french design and she made them extremely uneven. It got to the point where I had to literally stop her from doing my nails so I could go home and fix them myself. I didn't even let her attempt doing the french design. She still charged me $100 for an incomplete gel full set. In addition, her and another nail technician were making funny comments in Spanish of my friend's leg stubble and pale feet while we were getting our toes done. February 2020 My second visit was unexpected but equally pleasing. My usually spot was closed and they were running a new special. Free basic pedicure with any gel manicures his month because they are a new business. Unique services things make this place special. The pedicure came with a warm lotion massage both times. And (upon request) the gel manicure came with a warm lotion glove and massage applied after the gel had set. A 30 second massage at the end of my manicure convinced me to leave a 20% tip for both services. The place was still clean, courteous technicians, and owner onsite. It's worth a return trip and I am still hoping the business will be successful so the owner can paint the white walls a nice relaxing color next year. Too bright but the lights weren't enough to keep me away. January 2020 The bottom line is I plan to return in the near future. I discovered this brand new salon because my friend gave me a coupon and I was very happy with my experience. Everything wasn't sunshine and roses, the owners are still working out the kinks but it's worth a second visit. This place is a better back up for my favorite nail salon JeeYune in Montclair. I'm very picky so little things matter a lot to me. GLOWS- They give a great basic manicure. I was very surprised because most place ignore the nice touches you can deliver with basic manicure, but this place makes your money go a long way. They cleaned my cuticles with great detail. Softly filed down the nail bed so the color with adhere. The BEST part of the whole experience was the HOT lotion glove they applied AND the hot towel massage. The only other place that gives a similar service for a $12 manicure is JeeYune (but Jennifer's is still more personalized). My manicure was free because I got a regular pedicure. My favorite part of the pedicure was the massage. I received two simple massages: one with the lavender scrub and the other with a nice lavender lotion. Both felt really relaxing. The woman cleaned the nail bed of my toes meticulously. The chairs are new so they really have a nice back massage. And a quick hot stone massage was part of my regular pedicure which is standard for the Montclair and Glen ridge salons. The staff was courteous and professional. I spoke with the manager (or owner), a nail technician, and the pedicure technician. Everyone treated me warmly and they were very accommodating. I got my pedicure first, then received that surprisingly wonderful manicure, and the whole experience was finished off by a 30 second massage at the drying station. Clean facility. No strong odors. GROWS- Because of the colors in the place, I think the owner might be a man, a relatively young man. They have got to change the lighting, the colors, and the music. Clearly they've already invested a lot of money in the place so their best bet for now is to dim the lights. It's way TOO BRIGHT! Women come to a salon to relax, clear our minds, and especially to be taken care of. No one comes just for the polish. Atmosphere is everything. The walls and ceiling are asylum white. There a a gazillion lights which were all on at 2pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The place is flooded with natural light during the day from an amazing row of windows. There is no reason for so much interior lighting during the day. The owners also need to bring in more relaxing colors, more earth tones. The place feels more like an arcade, a barbershop, or a man's tv room than a salon for women. When I can't get a spot at JeeYune, I'll definitely head here next. Hopefully by the end of 2020 he will upgrade the color palate. read more

So glad I found a reliable salon in NJ. I came to visit family during the holidays and my hands and feet needed a facelift! Needless to say Elite understood the assignment. I'm super picky about my nails and love a crisp French which was done perfectly on my feet and hands. I get regular polish because I'm allergic to gel and they had no issue accommodating me. RUSHED MESSY PEDICURE. I have been here many times to get gel manicures with hera and she is wonderful. But today I decided to get a pedicure and I am extremely pissed. Like not even a mini fan or something offered which I thought was weird. This salon was spacious and clean. They added some thoughtful touches such as a ring holder for your rings while you get a manicure. I got a gel mani and regular pedi and my gel mani started chipping 2-3 days after... I was one of the last appointments and they definitely rushed. I got a 10 min massage at the end that made up for the rest of the experience, the guy who did it was really good if you like deep tissue. So I live down the street from this place and figured I'd try it out. I got a dip powder manicure and a FREE pedicure which I think they're running a promotion to get people in the door which is smart because I will continue to go there because both services were great. They have a very large selection of colors. The place is SUPER clean. Everything was either disposable or came straight out of the autoclave which I like alot. Pedicure was about a 40 minutes which is nice because I hate shelling out $40 for a pedicure that's 15 minutes. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The customer service here seriously was wonderful...and I work in a salon so for me to say that, something had to be a little extra. They have a rewards program. I believe it was, when you come 10 times you get either a free manicure or $10 off a service (don't quote me on that but, there's definitely an incentive to come back because regardless you need your nails done, might as well get something back for it). Sure the lights are a bit bright and the music wasn't so good but that's not enough to deter me from coming back. Regular manicure here was $12, gel manicure $35, dip manicure $45 and standard pedicure (which this time was comped) $30. Competitive with other salons in the area. I feel like if they dropped their prices $5 this salon would be A PROBLEM for the other places in town because it's so nice and the service is so good. I took my little girl for her first "spa day" to celebrate her pre-K graduation but was so disappointed. They rushed to finish my daughter's mani/pedi. They didn't even put her flip flops on before painting her toe her nails. Her manicure was a mess - nail polish on her fingers! they didn't even take her to the table for manicures. The owner was barking at the women doing my pedicure and my daughter's services to hurry up and tend to the customers who had walked in after us. My daughter is black and was treated poorly. I believe they are racists. Why? Unfortunately, a little gir l(white) from her dance class was a few feet away and they gave this girl the royal treatment. Including putting on the flip flops and wrapping her toes. I'm updating this review to say that my daughter's $15 polish (her feet) looks terrible 24 hours later. We made appointment for a group of 6 people days a head of time. We walk in with 5 (1 couldn't make it) and everything started off fine. We were here once before and loved it. They kept taking walk ins and ignoring the clients that were already there. My mother who is visibly ill (she has Parkinson's) got forgotten about! left in the pedi chair with the gel removal stuff on her nails for way to long. Then they finally sat her down.. started to remove the gels, THEN JUST GOT UP and went to another person and forgot about her. 4 people did her nails and they didn't even finish. It was so bad OTHER people in there who don't know us were offering to let their nail person finish her first and then finish them. AND THEN there was this poor women from the back saying she has been forgotten about as well and she had been sitting for so long waiting her feet were prunes. BUT WAIT THERES MORE! The person doing my nails and the lady doing someone elses nails next to me were passing the nail file back and forth... USING IT ON THE BOTH OF US AT THE SAME TIME. I had to tell them to not use that one me anymore, I don't know if she has any kind of nail fungus that's disgusting. They also don't have you wash ur hands while getting a gel so its going to have bumps. The nail polish they used on my toes was clearly old and left bubbles but if this place is new I don't know how that happened. I work at a local spa in Montclair and have been sending clients etc to this place because I had such a good experience the first time. Clearly I will not be sending anyone there, will not be going back myself. This place is unorganized, dirty, cuts corners and only cares about money.
