Be careful when getting your nails done here, they will silentlt upcharge without telling you. Acrylic refill with gel is $45 but the nail tech (Emily) charged $60 because she mentioned she had to "fix" 3 nails.. they were fine! Seems like a money grab and they want to charge however much they want. As much as I like how my nails turned out, I can't support unethical business practices. I usually get a pedicure done at a different salon but decided to try this place out and sad to say, the polish chipped a week after, and the polish on my feet usually lasts FOREVER. Im so disappointed. The girl gave me the worst manicure I ever received for someone who goes religiously. I tried this place because we were visiting my parents and it was nearby. I will never go back. My cuticles bled and was cut more than once. They hurt still even typing this review. The girl never ask how you want your nails shaped and the polish is horrible some of them bubbled, the others well just look at the picture. Meh. I wanted to love this salon because Tom is great and does 5 star work, but they just don't do it for me. Here's why- This salon is located on a very busy part of Bloomfield Ave. & there is metered parking only! You must constantly run in and out to feed the meter which is a nuisance. The inside of the salon is nothing to write home about. It's dusty in some areas and most of the chairs are worn down. It's very spacious which is nice but they don't make good use of it. I've witnessed the owner being loud and belligerent on several occasions which left a bad taste in my mouth. She was always friendly to me, but I observed her treating some customers poorly. THEY DO NOT TAKE APPOINTMENTS! If you're going on a Saturday, you'll need to arrive about 45 minutes before they open and wait outside in line! People actually do this which I think is insane! The wait can be up to 3 hours at times especially if you're waiting for Tom! Although Tom is excellent and will do a great job on your nails, it's just not worth the aggravation in my opinion. You will get basic service here. No hot towel, no cuticle oil, no hand massage with lotion- none of that! If you pay with a debit or credit card, they charge an extra dollar. He used an e-filer a lot to make sure the entire nail was not bumpy but smooth. We had great conversation. The price is unbeatable especially in the area. I paid $120.00 for everything and the fact that I had to go back not only to get 1 nail fixed but 3 is CRAZY. Not to mention when I went back Jenny the owner tried to blame me and wanted ME to pay extra to fix it. I'm livid bc I know more nails are going to break and I don't feel like Going to the nail salon for a 3rd time in 1 month after paying $120.00. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING TO THIS SALON. Worst manicure ever! Desperation will make you do stupid things. My usual girl was not in at my usual spot and I happen to pull up in the Ivy Hill plaza and see this place. I should've kept going the place was empty sold the girl took me right away. She had told me that she used to have her own nail shop now I know why she's closed. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Stay away from this salon - they use MMA for acrylics, which I didn't realize until I went somewhere else to get my nails soaked off. (google mma acrylic if you want to get a better understanding of what this is.) In addition, I got a pedicure that was rushed and sub-par, and they don't have a large color selection. You also have to pay an extra $7 for a nail kit and bring it back each time (if you ever go back). The owner is also just extremely rude over the phone and in person. When I called to make an appointment, she was yelling at me over the phone. I will not be returning. Horrible customer service. The owner is very vague. I called and made and appointment and was specific about wanting acrylic on both of my big toes. I got there finished my pedicure and waited over 30 mins just for all the nail artists who do acrylic tips, they started taking other people before me. Whats the point of making an appointment? My money isn't good enough for a pedicure only I guess, they paid more attention to those getting full tips on their hands. Mary is the only one who's very attentive and very apologetic about what happened. I'll never go back here. Oh and you also have to pay a mandatory $7 for your own personal pedicure kit. The owner neglected to inform me of that when I called. Which isn't an issue, it's 7 bucks but you can clearly tell they have shady business ethics! read more

Stopped in to see if I could get a quick gel manicure done before I met up with friends for dinner. I was in and out quickly and I got a cute manicure. There was only a $5 charge for the designs, no separate color change charge, just a flat $5 for all of it. $25 for the manicure and $5 for the designs. I've been going there for 3 years but today Is my last day! Tom is the only decent nail technician. The owner is so rude and can barely understand or speak English. I always make my appointments in advance. This time she denied my service saying I didn't ask for Tom which I definitely did. She tells me to come back next week.. Everyone in this establishment has a nasty attitude. You don't get greeted when you walk in and they just look annoyed. Ladies give Jenny's nails a chance ! I just found out the location has been around for two years and it's right around the corner from my apt. Shame on me. I was very lucky to have Mimi work on my mani & pedi. ($25) She is phenomenal. Deep cleaned my toe nails, removed all the dry cuticles and gently massaged my feet. She is friendly and loving to talk to. You will know right off the bat she is there to help you! Sweet girl! As far as regular nail polish options, there are very few from the brand OPI. They do offer gel manicure at $25. Oh almost forgot, for those who care there are massage chairs while having a pedi done and best part is, it works! Haha! The place is tidy and open. Walls feels crisp and clean with two TVs for your entertainment. The rest of the staff is always smiling and chatting up with clients. Of course I will be back! read more

Posting this from my fiancés account. Such a waste of money! Had 3 services done (full set of coffin shaped acrylics, gel pedicure and an eyebrow wax) in anticipation of my vacation. Disappointed with everything! My eyebrows were waxed grossly uneven. During my pedicure, the nail technician almost took off a live piece of skin with the cuticle nippers until I winced in pain. Not to mention, while getting my acrylic nails done, the drill bit cut my cuticle, causing it to bleed a bit. My thumb nails had indentations in the gel polish as well as on my big toe. By day 2, my hair getting caught in my nails from the lifting at the cuticle. Then, on day 4, I noticed that half of my gel polish on my second toe had chipped off. Later that day, the acrylic nail I had on my thumb just broke off while simply locking a door lock. The nail was not being bent, nor was there any pain or any indication that pressure was being put onto the nail for it to break off so easily. So disappointed to have had this happen while on my vacation. Save your $$$$ and go somewhere else, especially as they raised their prices again on that day I was at the salon. read more

I gotta say, I didn't think expect much when I saw what the inside of this place looked like BUT it was SO clean (used liners at the pedicure stations and latex gloves when buffing toes etc.) I showed up on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment for a regular pedi and gel mani. They said the wait would be about a half an hour but I was seated in 15-20 minutes. Huge plus. I brought a pic of simple glitter nail art and the woman who did my mani aced it with only a $5 up charge. She did a great job on my cuticles but there was little to no arm massage (just as a heads up.) Pedicure chairs here are DOPE, they're super advanced and make up for the fact that they don't really massage your legs at all. Bottom line, they're quick and efficient and super neat with application. They're clean and can do nail art at a minimal cost. Negatives are that there's no massaging at all, and that you might have to wait a bit. Overall? Not mad at my experience for $50 total. read more

First time here. Was looking for a new salon in the area. Had Jenny working on my nails and she was extremely rude. The reviews here and on Google are accurate. She mumbled under her breath multiple times when I asked her to correct my crooked nails and poorly applied gel. Had I been treated with time and care, she wouldn't have had to re do the mistakes on my nails. She rushed through my service and didn't even clean my cuticles or anything. Rather, she rushed through my service so she can get around to counting receipts and doing math during my apt (yes, APT. I called in advance to schedule because I'm respectful of peoples time). I also didn't get anything besides a fill in (no cutting no nothing... just a fill) Subpar service to say the least. The space itself is clean, but the color selection is also poor. My friend and I came in and she was handed the color selection book (maybe around 25 colors) and when asked if there's another book, Jenny snatched it from her hand and said "no". They're not doing regular polish either, only gel (which they claim is due to Covid) and then they make you buy a set for $7 for your nails to bring with you moving forward). This should have been communicated or a sign posted somewhere. Why say you can only do gel and must buy your own supplies? Be ready for an up charge of $20 per service!!!! Take your money elsewhere. Getting your nails done should be relaxing and exciting, not frustrating.... especially if I'm paying for a service.. go down the block a few. Much better salons. read more

I agree with the 5 star reviews and even though I had to wait a several minutes for my pedicure, I didn't take off a star because every worker was busy providing quality service to their respective customer. I went with a picture from yelp of the nails that i wanted that were made at their salon. The guy tells me ok and quotes me $55. White ombré nails. He gets to works and a few minutes later asks me if it's ok...i find it a little odd because the work was at such an early stage that i didn't know wHat i was looking at. He proceeds to work and i notice the ombré effect is not really noticeable. I don't know if they are supposed to look like it at the moment or later on so i ask if that's what the final color will be and he says no. He continues working and i can tell he's almost done so i ask him again and he says yes. I pull out my phone and show him how it looks nothing like what i showed him. What i showed him had a clear distinction between the top of the nail bed and the tips. He tells me he doesn't have that pink color. Um i showed you a pic you should have said that before we got started to what he tells me that he asked me if it was ok and i said yes. At this point there was no point arguing. The nails were basically done and i did like the work but it still wasn't what i wanted. I paid for ombré when it could have been a regular full set. A week later i notice a broken nail. Out of nowhere. Just broken. A few days later, another nail. I was going to go back to give them a second chance but nor after 2 broken nails in 2 weeks when i don't even use my nails for anything that could have caused them to break so soon. read more
