Manager gave me the impression she would finish my manicure by seating down and applying cuticle oil to one hand but left the1 cuticle oil on the hand and the nails on the other hand not filed to tend to another customer. Was made to wait for another technician to finish my manicure. Left with the impression that new customers are treated differently than recurring customers. Technicians were great. Management is the issue.

They didn't tell me it was expired while I was there, let me use half of it, then crossed out the expiration date and made it a date in expire 10/30/25. I was unaware they back-dated it because I was in a hurry to put it in my pocket since I was in rush. Fast forward to today, I went to use it and obviously it wasn't honored because of that new date. I understand that it expired and of course I'm fine not using it since it's completely my fault. It was just the most bizarre experience because 1. No one mentioned it was expired the first time I was there (which I would have been fine paying for my pedicure if someone explained that to me instead writing in a new date so couldn't use it again) Also I'm just not sure why they would give me back a gift certificate that I can't use anymore or never mention that it was expired. 2. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.) Also my nails were different lengths and the polish I used developed white spots on top (it was a light purple) With so many wonderful places in Montclair, I would definitely consider buying a gift certificate somewhere else with a longer expiration date, a more clear policy, or somewhere that will take the time to explain these dates and policies if you have an issue like I did if you are looking to purchase a gift.

She gave me nothing. The powder was extremely clumpy, and she even had to redo my thumb because of how bad it looked. Even after buffing, the nails are still clumpy and clearly were not smoothed enough. She also dipped some fingers into the powder 4-6 times. I have been getting powder gel manicures for over 3 years and have never had that happen before. There was also a lot of product left on my skin afterward, which she did not attempt to fix or acknowledge. The nails are messy, and one hand is longer than the other. At the end of the appointment, I had to ask for lotion because it was not offered. She also kept bringing my hands to the powder instead of bringing the powder to my nails, which made the process uncomfortable. Maybe my bad experience was just because of Jassmin, but because of her, I definitely will not be returning. I did not feel welcomed at all, and I honestly do not understand how this salon has a five-star rating.

All nail techs take their time and ensure the work is done well. My gel pedicure is well over a month old and still looks great, so I don't mind spending a little extra when it will last!
