They also cracked a tile, so the glass had to be removed, the tile repaired, then glass reinstalled. Before the full install, they had a piece of glass that didn't fit and had to reorder. I was told this was the fault of the glass production company they use.

Stacy greeted us and immediately appointed us to sample types of glass and frames to view. Their estimate included frame, mirror and installation...one stop shopping. She provided the estimate in minutes and also emailed the estimate. Our visit at Texas Mirrors & Doors was pleasant, effective and efficient. We really like that this is a family owned, local business. They do both commercial and residential projects. This business was established in 1981.

It is small office front, but appears to be where they also do their glass and mirror work. The have a sign upfront strictly forbidding customers from coming into the workshop area. However, if you look through the door you see many work stations. Viviana was very helpful over the phone. We decided to go in and see their mirrors up close. Their mirrors were fine, however, not with many options. The choices for our bathroom was clear glass or beveled glass. We obtained a quote for both. Binswanger Glass was within the relative range of other mirror shop that did custom mirrors. There quote was fair and similar cost to other vendors.

Horrible store/manager/warranty…read more Binswanger replaced a custom, round window in our living room 4 years ago. The glass failed and I contacted the store manager, Scott Rubin, for a replacement under warranty. To my surprise, Scott quoted a price that was almost as much as the original cost. I pushed for an itemized cost (never received) but was told labor is only warrantied for one year. I called Trent Hankins at AeroMass Glass. He came out, measured, ordered, and installed the glass for only $40 more than Binswanger's quote "under warranty". AeroMass offers a 10-year warranty. If any window he installs starts fogging or condensing within the 10-year window, the glass and labor are covered. Trent's number is 512-968-4047. Binswanger is a huge company that has no incentive to do the right thing for customers. Give a AeroMass Glass a call and get honesty, a fair price, and great service.

I've taken a few classes here and if you've ever been interested in stained glass or fusing (or if…read moreyou're skilled already and need to buy glass/supplies) this is the place to go! I tried a one time class (3 hours) in the winter and made a snowflake and it made me want to try more classes out and learn how to do bigger pieces- and they have a lot of class variety and dates. I did their 6 week copper foil class and then a 4 week stained lead class. Kris and Lisa are both amazing instructors! I learned so much utilizing the two different techniques, and they're so helpful and knowledgable- always making themselves available to answer any questions you have. You can also use the workshop space outside of class time if you signed up for the 4 or 6 week classes (call ahead and make sure no other classes are going on). I haven't been able to do any fusing classes yet but I hear from everyone who has taken any that they're so fun. They also do repairs and sell stained glass pieces inside- They got it all!

The pricing was comparable to the other glass companies. Laz gave us an estimate and set up the installation that very week. I don't know if it was the timing of our estimate because there is usually a wait period for 2 weeks. Laz was very professional and personable. I am really sorry that I can only give this company TWO STARS.. I recently had my master bath…read moreremodeled, converting a six foot sunken tub into a large and luxurious walk in shower. Brandon was quick to respond and gave me a pretty good "guestimate" based on my measurements and specifications which was quite helpful in my comparison and selection of the company to provide my glass shower doors. When the tech came to make exact measurements for the custom sliding doors I explained that I needed the largest opening possible due to my mobility limitations and dependance on a walker. While I currently don't need to use the walker inside the shower I'm aware that could change in the future and I wanted to be prepared for that possibility. He said he understood completely and we planned for a 26 inch stationary panel on the left inside with about a 46 inch sliding panel on the outside which would allow the large opening that I needed. Although the tech said it was usual to place the slider on the inside to prevent leaks, he "thought" it would be okay to place it on the outside as well. I liked the idea of having the larger panel and handle on the outside panel and thought it might make it easier to slide so that was the plan agreed upon. The glass was ordered and installation was estimated at about three weeks off. After a great deal of consideration I was concerned about the possibility of leakage with the slider on the outside so I called Brandon and after some discussion I asked that the placement be reversed with the slider on the inside and the smaller stationary panel on the outside as was more customary. He agreed that it would be no problem to make the change and would probably be a more reliable installation. The big day came and two techs arrived and worked diligently for some time. With the limitation of space involved, I stayed out of their way until they were finished with the job. That was a big mistake! And when I did go to see the shower doors I admired the color of the hardware and how well it matched the Champagne Bronze Delta fixtures, and how nice the clear glass looked in front of my newly built shower. They explained about the optional coating that I had chosen and the importance of using a squeegee after showering, which I had already purchased, and they left. It was a while before I had time to go back and really look at my new shower doors - they looked beautiful and were installed perfectly - EXCEPT - the larger panel was installed on the outside and was STATIONARY! The much smaller panel was installed inside and was the SLIDER! This leaves an opening of 23 inches - even less than the width of the panel due to the placement of the handle - and far from the oversized opening that I had ordered! It's a real falling hazard when I'm going in or out of that extremely small opening. And any possibility that a walker could ever fit through it is totally nonexisten! A less disastrous, but still troublesome situation is that when using the "U" handle on the slider to open the door as one normally would do, fingers get crushed between the handle and the stationary panel and extreme caution is necessary. Something I was unaware of but would not have been a problem if I had stayed with the original plan. And if I had done that, would the door have leaked? I'll never know, but I sure wish I had or at least stood watch while the glass was being installed! When I discovered the error I called and spoke with Stefan who said there was nothing that could be done - basically it was what it was, the company could and/or would do nothing. I had already paid 50% of the cost up front and I just didn't feel up to a battle - especially in court! I am 86+ years old, partially disabled and I can no longer drive. Faced with no apparent alternative, I paid the remaining 50% of the cost. That was probably another big mistake! The glass doors and hardware look wonderful and the mechanics of the installation are excellent and under other circumstances I could recommend GCS Glass and Mirror without reservation, but each time I struggle through that 23 inch opening awkwardly and fearful of falling, I think I'm being very generous with TWO STARS!
