Went here twice in one day. Found out if you don't want rice, they will give you extra side option. I got mini plates because they give generous amount of food. This time around I ordered fish Jun, meat jun and chicken katsu. Took it home and ate it with rice since we got the extra side. Also got the side order of mandoo. It came with 10 pieces. The food tastes good. Definitely my go to for Korean fast food. read more

Love eating here. This is my go to place when I'm in the 'Ewa area and craving some Korean food. My favorites are the meat jun and the chopchae. read more

I was told this place is way better than Pearls BBQ in Laulani Town Center. Once I entered the establishment, we were already greeted by an old lady who worked the front. Menu is the same as all other Korean take out joints and also pricey like all other Korean joints. I was told to taste the meat Jun so I ordered that along with the Elim Special combo which comes with a little of bbq beef, kalbi , bbq chicken and a piece of mando. It was okay and nothing different to me. The bachans that we ordered was japchae , Kimchee, potatoes shoyu and mayo, and seaweed. The only thought I had about this place is that they give a tiny amount of side dishes for a $21 plate. It was kinda tight and if comparing, Pearls over at Laulani give way more. Again nothing special or different about this place. Otherwise I give a thumbs up for just satisfying my hunger but not curiosity. Mood: okay Satisfaction: 4 out of 10 read more

I hate writing negative reviews on small businesses and especially when it is one that I have fond memories of from living in Ewa Beach. We made it back to Ewa after 13 years & could not wait to get to my favorite Korean Barbeque. Been dreaming of it for a long time, and finally made it and it was my worse nightmare. We knew something was off as soon as we walked in 1) you use to have wait forever because of the crowds (place was empty) 2) floors were grimy and boxes of supplies stored in the seating area. I get the feeling hard times hit at some point as everything looked like it was just holding on from the tables to the tape with adjusted prices on the menu. We ordered a combination plate in hopes that the food was still good, nope, the disappointment continued. 1) Kimchi made with regular cabbage (my wife who is Korean told me that this was a cheap way to make Kimchi). 2) Mac Salad tasted so funny that I had to spit out & I love me some Hawaiian Mac (broke my heart) 4) potatoes were meh 3) pics show what was edible and probably because we were starving and $22 invested in the plate. I was so so stomach broken to see how far this family favorite spot has fallen. I do not see us ever coming back. read more

Food is delicious!!!!! They are fast and nice they also give a lot I only eat Korean food from here

I like their food as it's always consistent and always quick. Not the most prettiest but the food is great. I always get meat jun and Kalbi.

Got a side order of their meat Jun! Was one of the best i have had! I'll be back!!!! Seriously!

The meatjun is the best I can find in Ewa Beach . Aunty seems like she remembers a lot of her usual customers which is nice. The seating area is so limited so I always order out. read more

The food is good. Never a disappointment. It is alot of food good for two people. Service is great the aunty is by herself in the front. She is very friendly. Can eat in there are tables where you can sit. read more

Good food but price's for plates went up from $16 to $22, last time they went up From $11 to $16. So 100% increase in a year is too much for same stuff. I'd rather go to Gen Korean Bbq lunch buffet Monday-Thursday for $20. read more

On our way to deliver gifts in Ewa Beach, my husband discovered and informed me about this eatery via Yelp. I mentioned to my hubby, "I haven't heard of this place. Where in Ewa Beach?" He said, "In the shopping center by Longs." Mini Meat Jun includes your choice of two veggies with one scoop of rice or three vegetables. Chose three sides of kim chee pancake, firm tofu and chop chae/jap chae. Loved their thinly marinated and sliced meat jun that stays intact in egg batter with or without sweet and spicy dipping sauces. Firm tofu contained hints of shoyu, minced carrots and green onion which I love and doesn't break apart. Chop chae/jap chae tasted perfect in texture while easy to slurp. Now that's how chop chae/jap chae should be. Texture of kim chee pancake reminded me of a savory and spicy cake which I didn't enjoy. Lady was very gracious and accommodating as we dined in. There's free parking. Casual setting. Cash only establishment. read more

Elim Korean Barbeque - Mini Meat Jun w/ three sides & no rice - Korean Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

Overall...it was okay. Meat jun Consistency seems the same...nothing big to talk about. I wouldn't go out of my way for this. I actually live near and eat here once every 2 years of any. Im more irritated by the $3 charge for extra sauce. Seems unreal. And I swear there is a sign that says extra sauce for 0.25....so check on that of you order extra gojuchong sauce. read more

Service is always great, the food and sides are so delicious. The meat Jun, kalbi, chicken katsu are the top 3 for us besides some of the other foods. They give lots of food and always go to this place at least twice a month. I always recommend this place to my friends who either live on or off the island when they ask for recommendations of eating good Korean food. read more

Lady was very rude and unprofessional. She told me I ordered a plate and never picked it up, while paying for dinner last night. Told her she had me mistaken for someone else but she insisted it was me. Won't be spending money over there ever again. 2 plates is about $50. Go some where else promise you it's not worth it. Shitty service and attitude and overpriced food. read more

Don't come here towards closing hours because they will be stingy with the sides and the rice and you're paying like $17 and up for a plate there. Meat jun is bomb tho read more

Skinniest meat jun ever. Amazing how they even slice it this thin. Talk about shame. The Kim chee was good. The jap chae was plain, the pancake was horrible, and the Mac salad salty. She even overcharged me by $7. Didn't notice till I got home. The inside dine in has tons of cardbord boxes piled up and the menu is faded. Service terrible too. read more

Elim Korean Barbeque - Korean Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

Elim's is some of the best Korean BBQ on the island. The vegetables are fresh and the japchae is the tastiest around. I wish they would provide two scoops of rice with the four-choice veggie plate, but other than that, it's awesome! Such a great find on the west side. read more

Placed a take-out order from Elim's for 3 Meat Jun plates & Bimbim Myun. When they say 10 minutes, Literally done in 10 minutes! Amazing service! read more

This place is your mom and pop version of a friendly Korean BBQ. Everyone has their take on where to go for best tasting meat jun. Here, the BBQ beef to kalbi and bibimbop is all top quality. Their kimchee was more on the salty side but I prefer more of the sour taste. As far you may already know meat jun or spelled as jhun/juhn lol due to different ways business owners like to spell em, but it is not authentic to Koreans. Therefore, you are eating something a local Korean started. As far as know, years ago, you would not even find meat jun in others states. But this is a staple fave for kids. It is like you figure I do not want to feed my child McDonald's. Elim's is our compromise. We normally would order from Waipahu but since it was Easter Sunday, many places were closed. I will highly consider dinging here instead of other Korean BBQs due to price, taste and friendly service. They are maintaining social distancing rn so take out only. Not to mention, cash only. I wish they accepted card since it seems better of a choice than touching cash. read more

This was our first time eating here. We heard good things so we thought we'd try them out. They offer your typical Korean style foods with your regular choices of sides. I really liked their bean spouts and cold long rice. Our food was made quickly which I really like and the cashier was really friendly. I felt like they look COVID serious with the safety precautions they had in place and there was lots of room for social distancing. We ordered their Meat Jun plate and is was very tasty. Rice was perfectly made and the meat Jun sauce was on point. We will definitely be back for seconds. read more

Elim Korean Barbeque - Inside - Korean Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

Located in Ewa Beach next to Shiros Saimin. Lots of parking available right outside of the restaurant. Elim Korean BBQ is CASH ONLY! Also you can only do take out, no dine in available. We got there at about 5 pm, no line at all. The ladies took our order and quickly asked us what sides we wanted. It took about 20 min for our food to come out. I think their drink refrigerator (next to the sides) is broken or needed ice because the drinks had lots of condensation on them. The meat jhun was good, i didn't care too much for the sauce. Also didn't care for their mac salad (it tasted a little sour). Excellent customer service though. read more

food is always so good and generous with the portions! The side dishes is the best i've had on island

I haven't been here in years. We used to live in older side of ewa beach but have since moved to the newer subdivision. This was our favorite korean restaurant. I don't know if it's different owners- but the food was very salty, and even the banchan was too salty. The portions are definitely smaller than before for the expensive price of the plates. And there's some kind of extra customer service fee? Maybe bc I paid with credit card, idk? They should state the extra fee. I remember before they were cash only. Sorry, won't be back again. read more

1st timer & I won't be back. Ordered the meat jun plate all veggies no rice. Meat Jun was on the tough side. If it was a legit no sauce would be needed in this case. It wasn't pleasant to eat. $18 a plate. On the veggie side... Mac salad was salty AF no wonder they gave choke Shoyu potato tasted old & on the hard side again also salty . Choi sum also salty wtf I wouldn't recommend this place for ppl w/hypertension. Brown noods was the only OK banchan on my plate. Would I recommend ppl going here? NO I knew I should of listened to my insirincts & went to Waikele BBQ. read more

Ewa Beach has some really high priced take outs so when deciding what to eat in this area, some gotta choose wisely! Elim's is no exception to the pricing, but you do get what you pay for! Btw, Cash ONLY here! Located in old Ewa Beach Shopping Center on Ft Weaver and Papipi Rd, next to Shiros and Loco Moco Drive Inn...the place doesn't look well kept, except for where the side dishes are kept... so don't be discourage as you enter... what you leave with is just right! I've only tried the meat jun and chicken combo plate here and buggah is pretty ono! Their sides are really impressive and really good too! You get 4 with the combo and I especially LUV the kim chee pancake and tofu options here... as sides... yes, as sides! Besides the sides, the BBQ Chicken is nicely done, not over cooked but not very tender. Nice big pieces though so worth the price. I've had other places charge you plenty, but not give much in a combo plate. The Meat Jun is good, but I'm a loyalist to Dong Yang's style Meat Jun, but when in Ewa, beggars can't be choosers. They give 2 kines of dipping sauces, 1 soy looking and 1 spicy looking... I just dip in both and tastes good anyway ;) The plate comes with a healthy serving of rice underneath all da food, so maybe unload all your chicken and meat jun on the other half of your container and then you can have access to your rice. This is really a take out kine of joint and one of the better 'bang for yo' buck' places in Ewa Beach. If you need to feed da beast, then come to Elims... with yo' cash! Till next visit, Grind On! Pau! read more

Wow, it's been years since I reviewed this establishment and it's been years since I visited this spot. Things have certainly changed from my last review and my last visit. However, I think their "only cash" policy still stands. I never confirmed but it's engrained in me to bring cash when I go to Elim's. This is how much I went to Elim's between 2009, up until I moved to the mainland in 2013. I love my meat jun so this review is solely for their meat jun plate. Meat jun is basically what I ordered anytime I came here, besides the kalbi. The flavors seems to have remained the same: delicious as ever. One major difference is that they now pack the plate. OooO wiee! If I don't share my plate lunch, I can get two meals out of it. The plate still comes with sides. I certainly haven't changed. I defaulted to my normal picks: potato salad, japchae, kimchee, and my normal greens. Both sauces that comes with the plate are liquid gold. They now charge for extra sauces but what can you do? read more

Ever since the older gentleman is no longer there, the place really went downhill. The chicken katsu, one of their signature dishes is now pounded out so thin and deep fried to a shoe leather consistency. It has become dog food as it's to tough to chew. The banchan is hit or miss depending on when you go. Their only saving grace is their mandoo, bbq meat and shoyu potato. read more

The spicy garlic chicken is soooooo good. Too bad I took a picture only on my instagram story. I'd come back here once a week or more if I lived nearby. Definitely a mom and pop shop that you wouldn't take notice of if you didn't decide to just try it out. The chicken is crunchy and very flavorful. It's not very spicy it's more sweet than garlicky but not too sweet. I definitely wish I had more rice because there was so much flavor. read more

Love this place. Food is consistently good and it's my family's go to Korean bbq spot!

Love this place. One of the places we always hit up when in town. Ate the bi bim guk soo and spicy pork. So refreshing and delicious.

CASH ONLY. That's the most important thing to know when coming here. Their food is delicious, and they give very generous portions. I always make a phone order since they are still only doing take out only. Their fish jun is always delicious, and with one of their sides, the mayo potato, it is to die for which is why by the end of the day, they are always out of it while they have other sides available. Restaurant is clean, again no dine in just yet, and cash only. read more
