I was totally impressed by this place. I wasn't expecting much because when we walked in, there was a seat yourself sign. We rounded the corner and what a view!! We had a large group so we sat in the large table towards the front. The server quickly came over and greeted us. She realized the air was blowing directly on us and immediately turned it down (extremely grateful for that!). She then picked up on my nephew's name and was doting on him. She made recommendations for things we were unfamiliar with. When the food came out, it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The tabbouleh was the best I have ever had. Really not sure how I felt about this place. It is a nice looking restaurant inside with big windows overlooking the creek outside. It would be a nice setting for a date night. We went around 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday and we were the only people there. We were not impressed by the grape leaves or bubbaganiush. The tabouli was pretty good! I get a multiple order and stash it in the fridge at work for the best lunches ever. My addiction starts with the Chicken Kabob. Perfectly cooked and tender as all heck. They must have magic in that kitchen. Next is Grape Leaves that are rolled long and tight and just melt in your mouth. And the Kibbee is a crunchy piece of yum. We love Elhams! We sadly have not been there for awhile but had a wonderful meal on Friday night. We got there a little after 7:00 and saw several people leaving with takeout but only about 5 tables with people inside the restaurant. They have done some updates with the decor and it looks great. We had a wonderful waitress. The only bad thing is one of our favorite appetizer is no longer on the menu...our waitress said we were the third table that night disappointed. We shared the hummus and the grape leaves. The hummus was so good and the bread is dreamworthy! The grapes leaves are made a little different than what we like but we can tell some people would love these. The food was off the charts, we had lamb, grape leaves, hummus, bread, falafel and a side of taboulli. Everything was amazing. The best falafel I have ever tasted. We ate every last bite. This is a casual dining Mediterranean restaurant right on the river. The restaurant was clean and the service was great! There were two large parties dining that each had more than 20 guests while we were there and our food still came out hot and tasty. I had the lamb plate with mushrooms and onions. The lamb was a little over cooked (I asked for it medium and it came out medium-well), but it was still delicious. We also ordered a hummus appetizer wth pita. We selected three different hummus' and they were all very good. They also have a very tasty garlic and oil condiment that I couldn't get enough of. Our server was a little inexperienced, but there were at least 5 other people that checked on us and assisted throughout our time there. I definitely recommend this place. I have been dining at Elham's for years with my family and it is one of my favorite family owned restaurants in New Castle. This family started out in a small space in a plaza and worked their way to a bigger restaurant. Abdou is now opening another restaurant called Pita which will sell, breakfast pitas, salads, vegetarian pitas, and more. I know my family and I can't wait to try it!! Elham's menu is pretty extensive and there isn't a dish that I have tried that I didn't like. My go-to dish is the chicken over rice. It comes with chicken, peppers, onion and mushrooms. The spices are just right and I always end up with left overs because the portion sizes are so big. We always get an order of grape leaves to share before our meals come out and these are some of the best grape leaves around. The lemon, to rice and meat ratio is just right. I can't forget to mention the yogurt sauce for dipping the grape leaves, it's one of the best!!! I have never been a fan of garlic sauce so the yogurt sauce is a must. No other dipping sauce really compares in my opinion. I love dipping the fresh Syrian bread in this sauce as well. The food is always consistent and the prices are just right! read more

The food is amazing here! The menu offers a great variety too not just mediterranean. They have sandwiches, cheeseburgers, and a kids menu. They do catering as well. My usual is lamb over rice or chicken over rice. The garlic sauce and peppers are a must for those dishes. There is an option to make the chicken dishes more spicy if you want. Their syrian bread is so buttery soft and tasty and they are not stingy about refilling if you want more. The portions are huge and pretty reasonable price for the amount of food. The mediterranean appetizer platter is also delicious and comes with kibbe, grape leaves, hummus, tabouli, all tasted delicious! They used to be located in a different plaza but this is a better location as it is a lot bigger and now they have a bar. Looks like you can rent or hold an event on an area of the restaurant because it is a really huge space. Not sure but would be a good idea. Nice big windows on the side where you can see the trees. The only thing is that since they have a bigger place, they probably need more servers because the lady who was helping us took some time. She seemed to be running around the entire restaurant. It's a true testament to the quality you will find at a 'family owned and operated restaurant'. The chicken on the rod is marinated perfectly and the sides are always fresh.
