Heard about this eatery in Hubbard, Oh. I walked in not knowing that they had just closed. The open sign was still out in the sidewalk. They came out from the back and let me know they were closed and I kindly said no problem that I would stop back the next time I passed through the area. She asked me to wait. She went in the kitchen and spoke to the owner, came back out front and said the owner would be happy to cook something and that I could eat in while they locked up and cleaned. So I ordered their gyro and fries. Didn't take very long and it was brought to the table. I apologized and she was firm that it was no bother to serve me. The gyro was huge. The French fries were fresh cut and perfectly cooked and there was a bunch of them. They continued cleaning and closing up. When I finished and paid the bill which I thought was very fair, the owner came out and thanked me for stopping at her place and she hoped I liked it which I did very much. I told her without a doubt I would definitely be coming back again. I want to mention also how spotless the place was which I can clearly see why as they were thoroughly cleaning everything as I sat there. Couple notes. It's small. A few tables and I think they only take cash. No matter what, I would highly recommend this place if you're ever passing through the area. If you are traveling, it is literally about 3-4 minutes off the interstate. A must stop. No disappointments. R

Greek Fries and chix souvlaki

Greek fries!!! What an inspired creation!!! Lemon, feta and oil on perfect fresh cut fries...mmmm!!!!! EVERYWHERE SHOULD HAve these! My daughter had the chicken souvlaki...which was excellent...the side salad which the waitress split was a nice original salad with a a great tart balsamic dressing. Was it small? Sure! but anytime I pass though here I am GOING HERE!!!!!

Gyro

We stopped here halfway through our road trip from Rhode Island to Indiana in the beginning of September and it was better than we could have imagined. They were the best gyros we have ever had, super flavorful and filling but also light and fluffy. Would absolutely recommend and hope we can visit again someday!

Tiny place with good food. I wish they were open on Saturday. Good gyros. I recommend the onion rings.

BEST lamb around! I wish the hours were longer so I could get dinner there more often.

Little Damascus - Three Meat Combination Dinner

Little Damascus

We've ordered takeout from this little Syrian spot in Niles at least ten times now. And I don't say…read morethis lightly...there has never been an off day. Not once. The consistency alone is enough to keep us coming back, but the food itself? It's something special. Let me start with the hummus. I don't even know how to say this without sounding dramatic, but it's hands down the best hummus we've ever had. It's unbelievably smooth, rich, and somehow manages to go with everything. And yes...I'm going to say it...dip your fries in it. Trust me on that one. And order the large size hummus to take home with you. The rice deserves its own moment too. Perfectly cooked, just the right amount of richness. I'm not sure if it's butter or oil or some magic in between, but whatever they're doing, it works. It's the kind of rice you keep eating even when you're full. We usually go for the chicken over rice, which comes with peppers and onions, and it's always flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. This is not bland food. Everything has depth. We've also had the three-meat combo (lamb, chicken, and beef), and every single piece is tender and cooked just right. It all comes together with that incredible red sauce and the garlic sauce...which I always order extra because I refuse to run out halfway through the meal. Add in the pita for the hummus, and it's just one of those meals you look forward to the entire drive home. And speaking of the drive...we will happily go 35-40 minutes out of our way just to pick this up. That should tell you everything. On top of all that, it's a family-owned place, and you can feel it. Customer service is warm and thoughtful. You'll often see the husband and wife there, sometimes their kids, and I believe his mother is in the kitchen and honestly, it shows. There's something about the food that feels cared for, not just made. We've tried a few different things on the menu and everything has been great, but the dishes I mentioned are what keep calling us back. Highly, highly recommend!!

I walked in and sorry, but was not surprised to see a dirty place. The middle aged guy prob owner…read morewas sitting around in dirty flip-flops. I ordered out of embarrassment. Food was avg not fantastic and definitely not enough to bring me back for more, especially with the store conditions and some kids playing on the food counter. I just didn't get a good feeling.
